This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and it was just as beautiful the 2nd time. Friendly and well trained staff, beautiful property, lots of nearby excursions. I do recommend the dolphin experience in Puerto Adventura just north. The pools were just too small to feel ok about the on-site dolphins. There is a shuttle when you book the other one so it's less expensive than a taxi.

This is my third visit to Barcelo Colonial. My birthday celebration was a success :) Omg! Where do I begin????? Maria De la Cruz ( the best friend now ??), AA and all team made my stay in Barcelo the BEST I have EVER had! NOTHING was too much trouble and always everything came with genuine interest and concern for me. I feel I have made a family there at the Barcello and I will NEVER need to look elsewhere. It quickly felt like I had known them forever as they made me feel a friend whilst always being sensitive and respectful. All restaurants and staff gust amazing ! Whoever is in charge of hiring staff at The Barcello Colonial deserves a medal because EVERYONE from housekeeping to food & beverage and front desk genuinely Made you feel so much part of their family. The hotel itself is fabulous. Rooms Very clean very groovy very attractive and you know…..so are the staff! Dear Housekeeping department, my heart with you... Bravo to the BEST hotel! Oh! On top of which, best location I have ever stayed in. Will be back soon

The worst experience ever lived of any hotel in our entire life! Terrible service, they don’t care about their customers. Waiters are the unhappiest, reception couldn’t resolve an issue with our reservation and would blame the agency and our reservation had the dates correctly and they had us arriving a day before and didn’t want to respect our confirmation they blamed the agency. Regularly in all inclusive resorts after checking out you can still use the hotel and installations until you need to leave. Here they tell you to leave at 3:00pm and cannot even order water after checkout at noon. Upon arrival bell boys told us that our dresses and everything on hangers we had to take ourselves they didn’t want to offer the carts, that clearly they had some available. At the wedding we assisted, everything was divine but at dinner time 4 kids decided not to sit at the kids table And decided to sit with their parents. The waiter didn’t want to serve the kids meal at our table they told us if we wanted their food to go get it personally at the kids table. This was even after talking to the waiter, wedding planner and wedding coordinator, all closed minded and well not helpful at all. Restaurants and beach restrooms Are very very dirty one was even full of blood everywhere. We mentioned it to a worker outside and told us he didn’t know anything he wasn’t in charge of that area. Food was horrible!! In general terrible customer service! PS: Barbara Diaz (our waiter at the kids pool) she was excellent very sweet and very service oriented. she was the only waitress in the whole area ?? all by herself! It’s a shame that it’s such a big hotel with great amenities but definitely their workers need training a lot of training they don’t even say hello walking by and have no clue of anything nor where anything is!! If you call reception they have no etiquette on answering the phone! It’s just a lack of training and service!

Sarahi and Susana were fantastic with the kids at the kids club at the Tropical. To the point where my daughter wanted to go every day! Mario with the entertainment staff at Tropical was AMAZING! We’d come back just for him! He was so friendly, energetic and great even to the kids. My daughter was so sad to leave but Mario made a point to come say bye to the family which made it even better and made her feel special. It takes people like this to make others feel special. Great job guys!
