Another great time at Divi

Another trip to Divi Little Bay. We were scheduled to leave on Saturday January 3rd Due to air space restrictions, we could not leave as scheduled. Anne Marie and staff at the front desk were exceptional in handling the situation. We are still here and enjoying our extended vacation because Anne-Marie Marie and the staff always go the extra mile
Decent resort but could be better with service

First, I will say the beach is everything you could want in SXM. White sands, no rocks, blue water and soft stand. The staff and everyone were extremely friendly and professional. We had a one bedroom suite in Ocean: The room was nice size, but furniture was uncomfortable. I like a firm bed but this was a rock and the sofa was the same. The balcony was large and had great views of the oceans. in the 8 days we were there are room was cleaned 3x. Our AC stops working and it took 48 hours for them to attend to it despite 3 requests. We were here for Christmas through New Years and of course it was busy so it was not surprising that service was slow, and of course you factor in that island time v NY time, but it was over the top slow. At restaurants, bars, beach etc. It seemed to have insufficient staff for such a busy season. DO NOT get the AI, it’s a rip off and not worth it. The food is so so, but we only ate at Buffet,Gizmo and slice. We had the “premium” AI and that did not include any of the premium drinks/liquors except at Mix. For what they charge per person per day, the food and alcohol should be better or don’t offer it. On New Year’s eve we booked a table for 1030 in the lounge area of Mix, only to be told someone else was in that location. To make matters worse there was no food anywhere at the resort after 10pm, but no indication of that. It was treated as just another night and not a big celebration. So would i go back? maybe, but not during the holidays and i would rent a car cause its off the beaten path, but the beach and all the staff and bartenders at Gizmo bar were great. So worth another shot.
Not pleased with our visit !

We were at Little Divi Bay Dec 30 for four days during new years . Upon our arrival at hotel , checking in at the front desk .. only one person attending to 10 people in line . The time wasted standing in line to be checked in was unacceptable especially after a long day - flight , airport customs ( expect long lines ) As well during our 4 days , our room wasn’t cleaned for 2 days . We paid good money during new years and expect service. Don’t bother calling front desk because they never sent housekeeping to clean our room . My husband & I called several times. I called to get clean towels at least .. never came !! One day at lunch we had to wait 2 hours for our lunch to be served .. we don’t blame the serving staff its management! Knowing that it’s high season the management should be prepared to hire more staff !!
One Of The Best Beaches and Turquoise Waters In The World

A party of 8 of us ( 4 couples ) arrived via Air Canada to Saint Martin spending our 10 day holiday at the Little Divi Beach Resort from Nov. 21 to Dec.1. The transfer from the airport in Petersburgh was easy and a fast 10 min. ride. Check in was fast and without incident. It didn't take us long to find the beautiful beach and crystal clear water. Wow what a beach they have. On that beach is a beach bar which not only supplies fantastic drinks but also a very good menu from food cooked beside the bar. Burgers, fries, salads, chicken wings, onion wings and more are delicious to nibble on all day, this is Gizmo's ( which is named after the Macaw parrot who lives at the resort and is a delight to watch. There is also the Snack Shack with a Mexican menu which we alternated between the 2 while on the beach. The beach bar has runners to supply adults with refreshments all day while we lounged on the beach. We really appreciated our guy Devin who kept us all hydrated with our choice of refreshments as well as water. Thank you for that. The beach crew also set up our chairs and erected our umbrellas every day we were on the beach. I wish I had caught their names as they were certainly good at their jobs. Every morning we went for breakfast at the buffet and were greeted most mornings by Mimi with her infectious smile and greetings with such a positive attitude that started our day off well.. The servers were all so accommodating, we got to spend more time with Amanda, Maria , Yolanda and our unforgettable omelet maker Joseph. Such great people who we really had fun and fun conversations with. We went to Sophia to book our 2 excursions with which the first was a trip around the island on land. We were driven by David from Bernard's Tours. We were shown all the sites we could take in and an expert explanation of everything we were looking at, we really enjoyed this tour which included both the French and Dutch sides of the island. Thankyou David , you are a master at your job. The next trip was into Petersburgh by Taxi. One side was a harbor where the cruise ships came in and unloaded the people onto the Boardwalk to the stores , then an adjacent street on the next block where we were driving in from the resort and were told to be dropped off at the Courthouse which is where all the stores begin. The cost was $5.00 per person for a very short ride into town. The first thing we noticed was the amount of jewelry stores here. Lots of shopping to be had but very busy when 4 or 5 cruise ships come in. We went to a restaurant called Bold Budah which had an entrance from the Boardwalk as well as the adjacent street we were on. The place was very full so we knew this had to be a good sign the food was good. Here we had an amazing delicious lunch and fantastic drinks . This restaurant is owned by Belinda who seated us and oversaw everything going on, our server was Summer, highly skilled at her job and our unbelievable drinks were made by Seema, a master in her own right. These people are very much all professionals. The food , again, was absolutely fantastic served in a fantastic atmosphere. our last excursion was around the island on the ocean, by catamaran of coarse. Our Captain Kink was great at pointing out points of interest around the island. We stopped at different points to snorkel which of coarse was optionable if you wanted to go or not. They supplied the equipment. We were unable to go completely around the island as the water was apparently to choppy and Captain King decided not to risk the trip around there. I found the side we were on was choppy enough so thank you for that Captain King. We found one of the crew members , Samire quite enjoyable, full of energy and vigor. Fun to have on board. It has been our experience that most catamaran trips are quite lively, musical and constantly trying to involve the guests to get up and get moving but not so much this one. Personally I was ok with that but others in our party not so much, they were bored. All in all I enjoyed the trip . Again I wish I knew the rest of the crew's names. They put on a great meal of chicken, salads, breads and a loaf dessert. I think our bartenders at the resort deserve mention as they as well made our stay so much fun. Steven... I wasn't sure how to take at first, I thought he was a little short and indifferent, well how wrong was I!!! He was hilarious and a very dry sense of humor, lots of fun once we got to know him, Kimani was awesome and right on top of everything behind that bar, great job guys. They had a young lady in there as well making sure they all stayed in line who was also very good I just didn't get her name. Felix at the front desk was also very good with us ,getting our bags to where they were supposed to go on arrival and departure as well as get us on the correct bus for transfer . 3 of us had a king bedroom suite, ours being room 228 and the 4th couple had a hotel type room across the bay from us. Our suites had a full fridge, sink, counter, microwave above sink and a coffee maker. We had a king bed with a huge bathroom with shower and a whirlpool tub, huge counter. Housekeeping was there every day replacing used towels and cleaning, hats off to those ladies, they work hard, these rooms are kept immaculate! We had no problem with our air conditioner however the other 2 couples in our party did. They went to the front desk and asked for repairs to be done which took a few visits for one of the rooms but got done. All in all a great vacation in my opinion.
Would never return.

The service here was terrible. Everyone seemed miserable to be working there as nice as we tried to be. Maids would often skip cleaning our room all together. When we complained, the maid came but seemed to “clean” out of spite. She rinsed our glassware with water, no soap, and returned the wet dirty glasses to the shelf (photos attached). My mother also encountered an uncomfortable/creepy incident with someone who was allegedly staying in the room next to us and the front desk staff seemed unfazed. I did not feel very safe after that. I would not return here. I know this hotel is not a 5 star but it seems that a baseline level of service was missing. This saddened me because it was Christmas and we all hoped to have a good time. Oh, lastly, they had water issues. It smelled like sewer (due to sulfur) and needed treatment. Save your money.
