Wonderful people. Overworked understaffed. Management fail. Won’t return.

Management /exec decisions set stage for failure. Almost all of the staff were warm, friendly, caring and gave us their best but the resort is woefully understaffed. The staff works overly hard and the place needs 20-30% more in all departments. Bartenders leaving their post for 20 minutes because there is no runners to restock. Constant shortages. 35 guests to check out and only a single person at the desk. Room only cleaned 1/2 of the days. Food was 6.5-7 /10. Poolside pizza place closed Wednesday to give the one person working 6 days a week the day off. HIRE MORE PEOPLE. We went out of our way to thank many staff members directly but overall disappointing in the place. We will not return.

Great beach! Everything else is subpar

This particular experience was absolutely terrible, the beach is 4 star the resort is 1 star. We have such a love hate relationship with this property. We Love that we can book a one bedroom suite with a kitchen (although this time it was a partial kitchen and a queen bed- which was disappointing) and go to what we think is the best beach in St Martin and the best beach for kids. We DO Not eat on property and DO not do the all inclusive. We rent a car upon arrival and go to the grocery store and do breakfast and lunch on our own and go out to dinner. The restaurants in St Maarten are outstanding- but None of them are even remotely decent at the resort. Unfortunately the service and (many of the rooms) are just completely subpar. I called for 1 week ahead of our reservation to make sure we had a king bed (some are king some queen) no one ever answered. Upon check in- more disappointment. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. I do not remember them so bad. Maybe they are all new but every family we spoke to had the same complaint. If you are looking for an outstanding beach, don’t mind your room never being cleaned, want to make your own meals (there are also grills on property), and have small children this is a great spot. We exchange our timeshare points for it. If we actually had to pay- I’d be much more disappointed. A few grievances- we went 2 days without toilet paper- after multiple requests. We got a babysitter to go to 7:30am yoga and the instructor never showed (which is very common we learned), our cash went “missing” at a “cashless resort”- which really it isn’t. And besides the burger at gizmos (which was very good - and the pizza not terrible either), the food is hardly edible. It was hands down the most uncomfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on and I’m over 1k nights traveling. The pro’s - with a full kitchen you can save a ton of $$. Some units have laundry (not ours), the beach is really the best we have found in st Maarten and having a room steps from the beach when you have small children is what keeps us coming back every few years. If they could just do a few things - like clean the resort, the rooms, anything really, serve better food and make the mattresses comfortable this could be a 6 star resort. They just can’t do any of these things- so just know before you go/ bring your to go cups and pack a mattress pad!t

Horrible experience

It’s our first time in the resort and will never return. The service is horrible everywhere- from the front desk, to waiters, to housekeeping. The front desk staff is very rude and they don’t know how to communicate with clients. On the beach they barely give towels. In the room when they clean they don’t give towels or extra body wash. The housekeeping is inconsistent, as they did not clean everyday that we stayed. As per the buffet here, food seems scarce. The trays are empty and don’t get refilled for a myriad of time. If you want to ask the waiter for something, you can’t get their attention and they don’t attend to your needs. I’ve been on this island many times and most of the Caribbean islands, and there is no point to come to this place. Do not waste your money.

Customer service is slipping

We have been owners at Divi-Little Bay since 2011. This year was a different experience. It appears that housekeeping is now contracted out. On our mid-week cleaning, our dirty towels were removed but not replaced. After confronting front desk staff about this, they finally gave us beach towels. It's disappointing to see how things have change.

Excellent trip

Our 7 day adventure was amazing. Staff was extremely friendly. The resort was very clean and lots of activities for all. Felix was an excellent attendant for the resort. Went on a cataman trip recommended by concierge and was a highlite of our trip. Would highly recommend this resort not only for the beach and ocean view but for the wonderful staff.
