Stayed at the resort for 8 nights in late April and early May. We had given this place consideration for a stay many times over the years, but decided on less pricey alternatives (i.e. Mexico). Now that we're retired and financially independent, we decided to give it a go here. Glad we did, because we weren't disappointed. Certainly deserving of its 4+ rating. As with any tropical resort, it's not without its flaws (mostly picayune, but worth mentioning in the spirit of improvement). The definitive pluses: The place is clean as a whistle and grounds are nearly flawless. There are people working at this every single day. The food (no one can reasonably expect gourmet food at all-inclusives) is decent and plentiful. Even the pickiest of eaters can find something good at most hours of the day. The buffet restaurant is pretty standard. The specialty restaurants must be reserved. The barbecue restaurant is excellent (open for lunch only, with ribs to DIE for. A must if you love barbecue). The Italian restaurant is the only indoor, air-conditioned restaurant. The meal was leisurely and the food surprisingly good. The waitstaff are constantly topping off the wine glasses. Very nice. Definitely would return here. The 6:30am opening time for the coffee shop is a definite plus, and the coffee is great. There are 3 bars. The pours are generous, and the beer (an excellent local brew, BTW) is always cold. You can get any kind of a drink you want at most of the restaurants. The beach is beautiful. And constantly being groomed of seaweed. The pool areas (there are 3) are among the best and most beautiful that I have seen at any resort I have visited. Chairs are plentiful at pools and the beach. The waterfront rooms (the most expensive category) are very nice and the balconies have spectacular views. Worth springing for if you can afford it. The help were unfailingly nice and polite at all times. They are a credit to the resort. MY picayune issues: At breakfast, no tomato juice is offered. Never any explanation as to why. Would love to see croissants offered as well. Condiments (ketchup?) need to be offered for those (like me) who use it on potatoes and eggs. PLEASE cook the bacon more thoroughly (in the obvious interest of expediency, the cooks throw a few rashers of bacon on the griddle, barely brown them and don't bother separating the strips). Watch out for starlings and jays trying to steal your food. At dinner buffet, please man a carving station (to keep the meat fresh and moist) instead of carving the entire roast and leaving it to dry out under a heat lamp (BTW, not all of us are from the UK (who generally prefer their meat to be done medium well). Beef and lamb should be done medium at worst, and medium rare is far more preferable). The Pineapple Grill specialty restaurant, while good, has an insect issue (small flying things covering the tables). This is not charming. They need to consider screens. Bad enough problem that we wouldn't dine there again. The steakhouse restaurant (only open Tuesday and Thursday) for some inexplicable reason, tacks a surcharge of $40 per person on to the tab to dine there. We avoided it for that very reason (this is all-inclusive resort, so what is the point?). You can get freshly cooked beef at the buffet and pay nothing extra. You need to save your seats early at the beach and pools if you want the chairs you prefer. The waterfront rooms are clearly the oldest rooms at the resort and need some serious updating. The walls and floors weep with humidity (somewhat alleviated with the AC on). The TV needs to be updated and put in an area where you can actually watch it from your bed (it's tucked in a recessed cabinet at the corner of the room near the balcony sliders). The rooms/towels are cleaned and refreshed only every other day instead of daily. The guests are provided with only two small bottles of water and no more. You have to pay for it at the gift shop if you want more water. Also, this is the only all-inclusive we've ever been to where the refrigerators are tiny and not stocked with beer, soft drinks, and water daily (without having to pay extra for it). It's short money. This policy needs to be revised. The balcony has a small love seat (and uncomfortable) sized couch with a small glass table. This takes up only half of the lanai area. The rest is empty. It looks weird. There should be a couple of single chairs with a small table out there as well. The doors and sliders need replacing as they're hard to open and close (because they're swollen from the humidity). NOTE: I have been told by several employees that the resort will close during July and August of 2025 for a complete renovation of the waterfront rooms building and other areas in the resort. The main bar, while having 3 sides, only has seats on one of the sides. I understand the need for space for waitstaff from the restaurants to order drinks, plus walk-ups from the beach and pool areas. Why not knock out one of the back walls for walk-ups? The lack of bar seats makes no sense to me. I can't speak to the nightly entertainment one way or another, as we were usually back to our room by 9:30pm. I also can't speak about the daily activities as we never partook of them. Lastly, while the general concept of an all-inclusive resort is to be "cash-free" (including tipping) for the guests, this is not reality. If you want good service, you need to infrequently tip the waitstaff. A couple of dollars handed to your server here and there will go a long way toward being served quicker and more cheerfully at the bars and restaurants. I suggest bringing plenty of $1s (US) and a few $5s. This is not a criticism, but guests should know that the warnings about the sargassum in the Atlantic and the Caribbean are very real. We experienced that on the last two full days that we were there. While the ground crew makes a valiant effort to clean the beach, it is almost impossible to stop. The sargassum isn't always there but when it is, it comes with a vengeance, especially when there is an off-shore storm. This place isn't perfect. However, while we have been to at least 20 different all-inclusives in various countries over the years), it came pretty close. We liked it enough that we are strongly considering returning next year, and would recommend it to people who are considering going to Antigua.
Wonderful Resort!

I had a wonderful stay at this Resort! Check in was convenient and quick and I was happy my room was ready early! The rooms are clean and maintained well, with a lovely balcony. The only thing is the lighting in the room is poor. There are a few bars around the property, my favourite being the Main bar. For lunch you can choose from the Buffet or Outhouse or the Snack bar at the main pool. You also have to make reservations for the A la carte restaurants which opens at night. I tried Pineapple grill, but the food was overcooked and the Italian which was really good! The coffee shop has the best coffee and best desserts on the property. They open at 6:30 am so you can get your first cup of coffee before the buffet opens at 7:30 am. The staff were mainly friendly and helpful! There are 2 other pools besides the main one, the Turtle pool where I spent more time and the Infinity pool, which is totally packed! The beach was over run by sargassum when I was there which made it difficult to swim in but it was still manageable. Unfortunately, this also caused the closure of the water sports. The evening entertainment is good but I honestly would have preferred more local /Caribbean music being played. There are a lot of activities taking place during the day. The masseuse at the Spa was worth it, very relaxing! I took the day pass to the sister hotel and it was worth it, their beach is incredible and they play soca music so you get into the island vibe. I loved it there! I would really like to come back to this hotel!
