The resort was not as expected. You could describe it as an old colonial style hotel in need of modernisation. Room was spacious with ample storage for clothes but bathroom needed upgraded. Hot water was not always available in the shower although most of the time it wasn't really needed but would have been nice to have the option. It was advertised as having the choice of three restaurants but for most of our two week stay there was no choice where we dined. The Pineapple restaurant (visited 5 times in 10 days) had the same menu with not a great choice once you decided not to have the Goat Curry or Jerk Chicken. We prefer to have the option of a breakfast buffet but this was only available on our last four days. That said, the Topaz restaurant a la carte was reasonably good. The Outhouse on the cliff (open 12-4.30} overlooking the resort was a nice change offering BBQ varieties for lunch. The small bay looked lovely and we walked every day although it was only around 1/4 mile long but for most of the time had seaweed on the shore. The various pools were really nice and we enjoyed using them. The staff were great. Very friendly and welcoming and we got to know them quite well and service was excellent. We managed to forget an adaptor but the gift shop did not stock one. There were no shops in the vicinity but taking a taxi to get there made it prohibitive. Thankfully, we were able to borrow one from new friends we met. Would avoid renting a car from the company operating at the hotel. We rented a car which had a flat battery in the key fob and had difficulty restarting the car and the doors wouldn't lock. When returning the vehicle I noticed an almost bald front tyre so cancelled the second day hire. Whilst we would not go back we did meet people who liked the charm of the resort and have returned many times. It was fairly quiet in September but does get much busier later in the year we were told. On reflection, did we get our money's worth?
