Gorgeous property - Meh service and amenities

Took a 4-day 3-night girls' trip to Aruba and stayed at this Embassy Suite. The hotel is lovely and our room was spacious with a lovely balcony view of the pool and partial ocean view. We arrived early and of course the room wasn't ready. There is no complimentary water or coffee station which was surprising for a resort and knowing people have to wait for their rooms in the lobby. The front desk person told me they would text when the room was ready. However, they neglected to tell me they use Whatsapp as the communication tool. My friend and I sat at the bar until 5p.m. waiting for the notification. I finally got up and checked and the room was ready. I didn't realize they had texted me using Whatsapp until later that evening. The pool and hot tub area are beautiful. We were able to get towels and pick a great spot the next morning. The breakfast offered was so-so and upset our stomachs so much we never tried to eat breakfast again during our stay. Poolside service was excellent. The restaurant food was good (which is strange because the breakfast was so poor). The evening happy hour was not well arranged. A long, long line during the time frame. The snacks offered were cut up melon, cheese cubes, cheese curls and pretzels! What in the world??!! The first night, we missed it by 10 minutes, and the bartender didn't even pretend like he wanted to give us one drink even though we had the tickets. He actually looked very annoyed when he said, "it ended at 6:30, ten minutes ago." We had similar weird non-helpful service from the gentlemen out front. I waited around to store my bags while the bellhop/doorman ran to every other person to help them get a cab or retrieve bags. We found out as we were leaving, the reason for this lack of service was because they thought we were native islanders so did not offer us assistance. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, but if you pay to stay at the hotel, you should get the same service whether you live in the islands or not. The room cleaning was hit or miss. One day we had no cleaning and the next day, the cleaner left the rag in the bathroom, and the job was not finished. Overall, not a terrible stay, but not sure I would select this hotel for accommodations on a return trip.
Beautiful huge suite and great breakfast buffet

The rooms was fantastic. We upgraded to large balcony suite and the room was huge and very comfortable. Best shower I've had in a hotel. The morning buffet was delicious with a wide variety of items. Only negative was the hotel restaurant. Only ate 1 dinner but cabs are plentiful to other restaurants. Also the pool was huge.

We really enjoyed staying here in room 301. The rooms were clean and stocked daily. Our morning started off with an amazing free breakfast choice. There was a yogurt and fruit bar, eggs and meat, omelets made to order, waffles, muffins, croissants, pastries, juice, milk, water and coffee. I may have forgot something. Everyone is so helpful, kind and pleasant. We would head down to the pool area which is large enough to never feel crowded. There are cabanas to help protect you from the sun. There is a poolside bar if you want. We did order lunch poolside once, and it was very delicious. At 5 o’clock, they give you two drinks (alcoholic or non) plus hors d’oeuvres. The hors d’oeuvres was generally chips with salsa and another dip. They served fruit, popcorn, dried fruit. The staff is very knowledgeable on the expeditions that are in the area plus recommended wonderful places to eat. We used the E bike rentals which was very fun. There is an tunnel that leads directly from the hotel to the beach across the street. We found our self gravitating more toward the other beaches on the island but this was a nice place to cool off.
Title: Security Concerns – Valuables Disappeared and Poor Management Response
Antoine K on May 16, 2026
I am writing to warn other travelers about a serious security issue at the Embassy Suites in Aruba. During our stay, a gold bracelet belonging to my daughter disappeared directly from our room. When we reported the theft to hotel management, they conducted a brief investigation and claimed they found nothing, offering no real help or accountability. To make matters worse, while we were at the front desk reporting our missing item, another guest right next to us was also reporting that $600 to $700 worth of his wife's belongings had just vanished from their room. This is clearly not an isolated incident, and management is not taking room security seriously. Please use the room safe for absolutely everything or stay elsewhere if you want your belongings to be safe. We will never return.
Good & Not-so-Good

Upon my vacation reservation, I upgraded to Suite with Pool View (as well as partial view of the Sea). Changed my room twice, as I was dissatisfied with the first 2 views, where I felt I paid for a better view when I upgraded my room during my reservation booking. As I understand that the Aruba beaches are public, I felt it was inconvenient to have to cross a busy street (or to take the hotel's tunnel) to access the beach. The murals in the tunnel are beautiful! Beach is small, and compared to the other nearby hotels, not as appealing. (No food or beverage service, no nearby restrooms, no background music, not a good snorkeling beach. If you like quietness, then this beach is for you). Large & beautiful outdoor pool! Hotel location is within walking distance to just a few other hotels (where the beach & snorkeling is much better). Must take a Taxi to center of town - where all the shopping, most restaurants, & adventures are located.
