This was my 6th visit to Barbados but my husband’s first so I was very excited to bring him to an island I consider my second home. And that is was INDEED! We’re from Trinidad so island time was OUR time. The meals, the beaches, the wait staff, the pools, the grounds, the room… all FIRST CLASS! Special mention to Shamika and Samara who greeted us with friendly smiles and warm conversation at breakfast. To Asanne (bar staff) who replicated a Queen’s Park Swizzle beautifully!!!! And Dario, our photographer, thank you for capturing beautiful digital memories that we will treasure forever. Thank you Sandals. Thank you Barbados. WE’LL BE BACK!!! ????????????????????
Jack at The Merry Monkey!

The Merry Monkey is a pub on the Sandals Barbados resort. We have been to this resort for the past four years. I have been so impressed with Jack and have decided it’s time to share my thoughts. This guy is great. He is an unbelievable host and seems to be able to be everywhere at once and look after everyone effortlessly! He remembers names….what you like to drink….will walk to other bars to find your preference if his bar doesn’t have it….and seems to have the time to sit for a bit and chat. He never stops smiling and genuinely seems to love what he is doing. Well, it’s time to recognize that. We played cards at the outdoor picnic tables, outside the Merry Monkey most nights after supper. Jack elevated this routine with his humour and energy. On our final night, we asked this busy man if he would take our picture and he graciously agreed…..and after first taking a selfie, he then photographed us. So, I will include Jack’s selfie, with my thanks, for adding so much fun to our evenings. His English accent, positive energy and hilarious humour made my 70th year a good one after being told many times by Jack that I’m a “naughty girl”! You sir are in the right place. Well done and thanks for the laughs. We will be back! I wish you well.
