Rum tour

Today we took the rum tour to Mount Gay and St. Nicholas Abby. Our driver, Glyne, was great. He made the ride from Sandals to the distilleries very enjoyable. He provided us with so much information about Barbados and the surrounding areas. I could tell he really loved his country. Our stay at Sandals was very enjoyable

Beyond disappointing experience with Sandals. Starting on the first day, we were greeted with rudeness at the bar for them to be out common liquors. After a long day, I was excited to try the food again to be greeted with rudeness by the staff as if I was interrupting their conversation. Continued to day 2, bar staff was impersonal and rude while out of liquor again. Places that required reservations were all booked up by the time we got to the resort which is ridiculous. Day 3, we went to Merry Monkey where we had an almost 3 hr wait for our time. If that wasn’t bad enough, I was greeted with not 1 but 2 roaches yes roaches on the wall. We will see how the rest of the week goes…. But neatless to say we’ve been returning Sandals members for the past 5 years and this is beyond disappointing.

Our 4th visit to this Hotel and it never loses its appeal. Beautiful Beach, Lovely Restaurants across the two sites. Everything you could wish for. We had the most amazing Butler's to look after us and they were so caring and hard working to make our stay First Class. Archiebald, Jeremy and Jubari were our Dream Team. The Courtyard Bar was our favourite place in the Evenings friendly and experienced staff who looked after us very well. We were sad to leave. Our room was a suite and was spacious and quiet.

This was our first time to Sandals Barbados. What a pleasant surprise. By the end of our 2 week stay we were loving the resort, staff, and we will be back in 2027. We stayed in a Crystal Lagoon Swim-Up with a butler. Only one issue with the room(6101) - lack of water pressure and hot water. After reporting the issue to our butlers and 2 maintenance men coming to our room we had hot water and better pressure in the sinks. The shower pressure was not the best in the shower but livable. The grounds were gorgeous. The restaurants are great, and plenty to choose from. The food was excellent. Our favorite restaurants were Chi and Butch's Chop House. One of the weeks we were there was Welcome Home Week. We do not normally travel this week. I was not overwhelmed with the activities planned but the swag bag was nice. Our team of butlers were Archibald, Jabari, and Jeremy. These gentlemen were excellent. They met all of our needs, including helping us locate the monkeys. Note we are not high maintenance people. We just wanted beach chairs, our cooler, snacks in the room in the afternoon, and a place to eat each night. Several waitresses were extra nice: Marissa at Spices for breakfast and lunch, Rashida at La Parisienne, Annette at Butch's Steak and Seafood. Darren the host at Butch's. Baznet, food and beverage manager, whenever he saw us stopped to make sure all was okay. GM Bruno also was interested in making sure our expectations were met. Overall, Sandals Barbados is now in our top 3 Sandals.
Premium prices....average offerings

Disappointment doesn't describe our experience fully. We were excited to be coming to Sandals and expected a luxury holiday... we were so let down. We were offered restricted meal time booking slots within the restaurants as Butler service get first dibs. Once there the food is spectularly average and service can be rushed. The restaurants you can reserve aren't really worth the effort tbh. I expected so much more for the price we paid for the holiday...infact it turned out to be comparable to any average all inclusive resort but with nicer gardens, pools and decor. But that's not what we paid for...we thought we were going to get 5 star gourmet service but infact got average offerings. The bars ran out of drinks advertised, the spirits unless you requested particular brands were local spirits, though plentiful and there were great bar staff. Service overall is patchy, some folk were great others not so. Room service was included in the price but again not reliable. Buildings need refurbishment, paint is peeling, lifts don't work, showers don't work around some pool areas, & some pools are out of action, plus there's an awful smell of drains. Gardens are fantastic and very well kept. The beaches are fab..its Barbados! We've been to the island alot over the years...and tbh, staying here has been a real let down. I would not recommend Sandals Barbados to anyone, stay in other resorts, eat at better restaurants, the food is fresh, local and great quality, the island offers so much more out of resort. We work very hard and saved for this holiday as a treat but sorry Sandals really isn't value for the money in our opinion.
