a week in paradise

Steven K on Apr 21, 2026

Just returned from Sandals Barbados and we had a great time. We stayed on the Barbados side, but the Royal side was right there and for the most part often mixed up which side we were on . It appeared seamless. The Barbados side, the room may not as been as nice, but it was more the fine. The room itself could of used more lighting in the bedroom We were in a butler swim up. Our Butlers Ron , Shakeel and Marquita were awesome. They anticipated our needs, and surprised us with treats. Had shrimp coctail and chicken wings waiting for us daily , as well as bubble baths a couple of time. When we wanted to change our dining arrangements, no problem. In addition if you asked on butler for something, and they were off the next shift, it occured. It was like they were one, with great communication , Cant say enough good things about them The staff in general were fantastic. We would get turned around sometimes, and asked a groundskeeper for directions. He would walk us to our destination. Great staff throughout the place The food was some of the best all inclusive food i had. Resturants we went to were all great and the buffet as well, The food was hot, when served, and except a few exceptions, was very good. The staff again, was friendly, accomodating and a general pleasure to be around, We did do the spa, a couples massage. Again very professional and experts at what they do . We may of over tipped, as we did not realize the service includes a tip which I would of taken into account and they could of pointed that out. However the additional tip was well worth the service, We did tours but not through Sandal but Captain Larry on one day, and our butlers arranged a ride for us on a different day On transport. On the way in, we did not use an expedited service, and took the shuttle. That was easy . ON the way home we did use the expedited service,, still a shuttle but they got us through the security faster. Was worth it. We had carry on, and line was long. Security was about an hour or longer line, and we went through in 10 minutes, and to a simple but nice airport lounge. I would do it again All in all a great trip, a wonderful island which we will visit again

Expensive Spain

butterflygirl938 (Lake District) on Apr 18, 2026

Service is shockingly poor here. Waited over 30 mins at a quiet portofino restaurant for breakfast of juice and eggs and milk for tea and ended up giving up. Servers are grumpy, miserable and rude. Food items arrive cold or with items missing. Huge groups of loud Americans dominate. The resort caters solely for American market. This is not a romantic luxury get away for couples! More like a 18-30’s for over 50’s! Repeat guests from america usually pay for butler service to guarantee priority sunbeds and dining reservations. Sea is too rough and unusuable. Poor

Sandals Barbados celebrate 60th

177wkyy (London, United Kingdom) on Apr 15, 2026

Stayed at Sandals Barbados in March for my wife's 60th birthday. Disappointed that the hotel recognised wife's birthday by a standard pre printed cards and just a few petals scattered on the bed. As this would be our 4th Sandals visit, they were aware of this occasion at the time of booking. Our room in Walcott house was fine, the balcony patio area faced out to the gardens which were very well kept. We managed to book some of the restaurants and would recommend Kimonos and both Butch house's . If you're from UK then Merry Monkey English Pub is NOT very English, a waste of time... better off hanging around one of the outdoor bars. For Breakfast buffet then Bombay Club is very good, American Tavern is ok but lunch is better. Plenty of sunbeds on the beach where you're likely to catch the guy by the name of Captn Larry selling Island Tours. We decided we wanted a private island tour without the snorkeling or fishing .. went with viator £200 for 4.5 hrs. Found the beach quite relaxing until around 11am when the Sandals DJ and team start up with random music. This is where I have to say that overall the music played was 2/10! It's meant to be a relax, chill, couples area but playing Hip hop rap .... really! The DJ team need to appreciate the audience they're playing to! So we come to drinks served at the main pool bars, not quite up to the standard expected at this Sandals luxury location. Beers mostly small cans and rarely on draught. Collected Plastic glasses rinsed in cold water or lightly hand washed and not put thru proper hot wash. Lack of ingredients for popular cocktails like Passion Fruit Martini (no passion fruit), Grasshopper (no creme de menthe). Even the Pina Colada was mostly crushed ice with a cherry on top! Not quite 5* drinks!! Finally, wifi is slow but OK'ish, you'd need to pay for fast speed. Overall experience compared to Sandals Antigua and Sandals Bahamas, an average 5/10 although I will say that apart from some kamikaze butlers on bikes, most staff would be 9/10??

Lies, data leaks and being ignored - DO NOT book a Wedding here!

Laura S on Apr 11, 2026

We went to Sandals Barbados for our Wedding in November, which was lovely, but entirely tarnished by the events that followed after. In the weeks that followed, we found out that our legal documents had been incorrectly sent to another person, which we were lied to about by Sandals, and not formally notified about until 4 months later. The UK office who handled the matter have been appalling and no one has been willing to speak with us to discuss the matter. I cannot stress more strongly to NOT book your wedding here. We have been left feeling disgusted by the level of service we received following such appalling handling of our personal information and their refusal to even discuss the matter with us is a further insult. Save your money and book elsewhere!

Beautiful stay at Sandals

Lauren W (North Yorkshire, United Kingdom) on Apr 11, 2026

We had a fabulous time at Sandals Barbados. Beach was absolutely stunning, huge array of food and drink options being able to use both resorts, gardens/landscaping and facilities all brilliant. We mostly used the pools at Sandals Royal as there were renovations happening at Sandals Barbados. The communication on the renovations pre to our arrival were quite poor and we were having to press sandals and BA for info. Although it didn’t affect our room, and the noise didn’t bother us, the main pool and building at Sandals Barbados was being renovated so it was a bit of a ghost town in that area. However, the other pools and facilities absolutely made up for it. Food options were great, me and my husband are huge foodies and we were so impressed. Bombay Club was wonderful in particular (do not skip the lamb chops!). Greenhouse was also amazing for both breakfast and dinner. Rooms were lovely, spacious and the outdoor bath was a nice touch. On the whole the staff were lovely and helpful - there were a few instances of rude staff which I haven’t had before at other sandals resorts where service was better, but this didn’t spoil the holiday and other staff were pleasant.
