Joyful, relaxing, great atmosphere and staff. Good food, cocktails and wine. Spectacular location.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Waves Hotel and Spa, situated on the picturesque part of the island with a beautiful white sandy beach and the most refreshing clear warm turquoise sea. Lots of free water sports such as paddle boarding, kayaking and sailing. Tubing, water skiing and jet skiing was also available for a fee. Very responsible staff keeping you hydrated on the beach with endless complimentary water, ice lollies and fresh fruit. The cocktails, wine and food were consistently of a high standard. The Asian Fusion meal in the main restaurant and the Club Sandwich in the pub was outstanding. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I wanted to say a thank you to Charmaine, who worked in the restaurant and pub area. She so kindly agreed to braid my hair the following day as I was not able to get a booking at a local salon. The hair was stunning, exactly what I wanted and it will see me throughout my one month visit of Barbados and Grenada. My hairdresser from London even messaged me to compliment my hair. We miss you guys!!! Hope to visit again. ??????
Very disappointing hotel. Never again.

This hotel was hugely disappointing for so many reasons. As soon as we arrived the tiny and uninspiring reception and the close proximity of the hotel to the busy main road rang alarm bells. Then we felt further disappointment when we arrived in our room. It was a split level sea view room which was very small and uninspiring. We seldom went upstairs to the lounging and balcony area as it smelled musty and was grubby. Also split level is not a choice I’d ever make again as at this hotel you get two very small rooms with no feeling of spaciousness. The mini bar was very modest with just a few beers, colas and water and inconveniently upstairs. We had major issues with the refurbishment that was going on. For all of our stay the Thai restaurant was closed despite having been told a few weeks earlier that it would be open for our last two nights. The smaller pool was also closed for several days for refurbishment work. A hotel with just two restaurants and two pools simply shouldn’t be open when one of each is closed. In my view the whole hotel should have been closed during the refurbishment programme. Quite apart from the closures we were surprised on arrival to find a very busy road had to be crossed to get to the adult pool. That alone would have prevented me booking. That pool was OK, not very inspiring with a temporary bar structure and very limited bar. That said it was made acceptable by the brilliant service of Pamela who couldn’t do enough to look after guests. A true asset to the hotel. The beach was poor and very small and while we were there a wood bannister down to it broke off causing the poor chap grabbing it to fall flat on his back onto the sand! There was though a very pleasant view out to sea from the beach. The food contained the odd highlight but overall was very poor indeed. The closed Thai meant that apart from the snack bar we had just one restaurant to eat in which quickly became very monotonous. Breakfast was very limited and with just one egg bar server a wait n furnace like heat had to be endured. Talking of heat, the restaurant was always very warm and really uncomfortable to sit in. For dinner there was a la carte four nights a week but over half of the choices were on the menu every a la carte night leaving very limited choice. The food itself, whether the buffet or a la carte was not very good at all and I really didn’t enjoy meal times and couldn’t wait to get out. The one big plus throughout the hotel were the staff who pretty much without exception were excellent providing quick and efficient service with a smile. Overall then I think this hotel is vastly overpriced for what it offers and represents very poor value for money. I wouldn’t recommend it one little bit and certainly would never return.
