Wonderful Waves!
creased (Oswestry, United Kingdom) on May 20, 2026
Waves has exceeded our expectations! This is a classy little hotel, with a fabulous staff team. Always attentive but never obtrusive, every member of staff has gone out of their way to provide the best possible experience for guests. Special mentions for Ether, omelette and poached egg extraordinaire! Also for Ache and Gabrielle, always cheery and polite. There are too many great staff to mention - honestly the best hotel guest experience we’ve ever had. Our pristine clean junior suite had the most breathtaking, uninterrupted 180 ocean view and was totally private, not overlooked at all. The terrace was huge, with comfortable seating. The bed was comfortable enough and always immaculately made up. We found the food to be good, if a little repetitive. There was plenty of choice and the AI was very generous also including a very nice coffee shop ‘grab and go’ for taking out snacks or lunch. One of the best features of Waves is the frequent water taxi which takes you up the coast to the sister hotels where you can have lunch and use their beaches and facilities. It’s also a nice walk along the beautiful beach to Crystal Cove if you can manage the heat! The beach, although on the small side, is lovely with plenty of sunbeds in May. It’s certainly the best of the sister hotels’ beaches, with the exception of Crystal Cove - but we much preferred Waves to this. We had the most fantastic stay at Waves and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. We will definitely look forward to coming back

I went with my Mom who is 90. The staff is the best part of this hotel! They are very accommodating! Unfortunately the hotel is in need of a renovation. Rooms are showing wear. However very clean. We booked an ocean front room. Great view! But noisy! Road noise is constant. Food was pretty good.
Great stay at Waves Barbados!

We had an amazing time at Waves! It’s a smaller boutique style resort. They offer 2 restaurants on property an Indian style restaurant and a buffet / à la carte restaurant with a rotating menu. You are allowed to dine at a few of the sister properties. Only requirement is you must make a reservation through the front desk. The room was beautiful and spacious very inviting. The beach is a little small but they have plenty of chairs for the guests along with motorized and non motorized activities available. There is a daily water taxi that has set times ranging from 9am to about 4:30/5pm that runs south to north then north to south. This allows you to visit the sister properties during the day for lunch or to just spend some time at a different beach or pool. The staff was amazing throughout our entire stay. They made it a trip to remember. Definitely a great place to stay when visiting Barbados!
NO Go!!

If your honest this is no way a four & half hotel. The whole building is drab, rotten, old. Your clothes are ruined with birds phoop. The kitchen was on most occasions never ready and to be honest it was not great, really! They really had no clue, no professionalism whats so ever. Couldn't cook an egg even IF the apparatus was working! I mean no bread just toast bread! The sliced meat and cheese was sweating!! The beach waiters were mostly smashed, behaviour most inappropriate. It was a few drinks for guests and few for them hid in there white stand. But at least the sun beds were not broken down and holes in the umbrellas. We were like most all inclusive but you had to reserve a dinner table in the evening, if cause your on holiday and forgot, you get a slight telling off. I mean!! behaviour so childish. If there was a family with kids, forget the service, at times there were 5 waitress fussing over them and everyone else is waiting!! My negative side could go on forever, I don't have the time! It was our 25th wedding anniversary and we decided from the beginning we was not going to celebrate at that hotel, we found a lovely place out. But we know we will never return to that hotel. NEVER!!
A peaceful place with friendly staff.

This hotel is located between Bridgetown and Holetown, on the west coast. It has easy access to public transit, which is safe and reliable. It is a short ride to the shops of Holetown and the action of The Gap. Such an easy check in with Anisha and Zoe. All the lobby staff were helpful and kind. Lovely, peaceful location with a tiny beach that is very calm, sandy and swimmable. Akil, the beach bartender is wonderful and consistently provides excellent service. The lobby bartender had many amazing staff, but Jamar stood out for his friendliness…. really, all the staff were amazing and friendly. The beachfront rooms have an amazing, unobstructed view from floor 1-3. Avoid floor 0 as these rooms look out to the common area patio, affording no privacy. Poolside rooms look out to the adults only pool and are very quiet and peaceful. There were only two issues that we disliked about the hotel. Each meal ends with a fake bill that itemizes what you have, a cost and then asks for your room number and gratuity. When I am on vacation, I prefer to tip in cash, to the staff that I find helpful. I do not want to see a bill when I just spent over $6000 to stay here. The concierge, Antwon, was perhaps the most negative concierge I have encountered at any of the hundreds of hotels I have stayed at. Everything about his body language, eye rolling, hair tossing and so on screamed disrespect. I can appreciate that he is a religious person and, “Lives for God”, but he had a negative attitude towards nightlife and drinking. His entire demeanor around these issues was offensive to us. We wanted information about a tour and all he did was write our names down, hand us the bill and shared no information about what was included…. completely unhelpful. He also seemed to be upset that tourists can partake in duty free shopping. Concierge is not a job for him. If you want a nice clean, quiet place to stay and enjoy swimming, friendly staff and beautiful sunsets, this is the place.
