So totally surprised and delighted!

sue h (connecticut) on Apr 10, 2024

I booked a trip in July of 2023 for 7 couples to celebrate my birthday at Waves in April of 2024 and in February of 2024 found out they were closing the main pool and one of the restaurants for renovations- to say I was nervous and upset is an understatement. I reached out to the hotel and they assured me my celebration was in good hands - they were 100% correct. I have been going to Barbados for 20 years, with 15 visits in total and this was my first all inclusive. This resort was so amazing - the staff working there was just wonderful and so kind and thought of everything to make our trip amazing. The food was great, as was the manner in which they organized daily activities -very intimate and lovely all inclusive - Ryan thanks so much to you and your team at Waves!!

Wonderful...would go back in a heartbeat

This is a gem of an hotel. Great position on the west coast, with a small lovely beach. The food was excellent at all meals, with a good choice whether buffet or a la carte. The staff make the hotel so wonderful, going the extra mile with a smile. They make it their business to remember your name, they clearly enjoy their work and it shines through. Special mention to Ryan, Sabrina, Tamika, Jennifer, Shermarke, Jabaar, Christine and Kenrick. Great personalities, professional and a joy to stay in their care.

Lovely hotel, lovely people

Loved this hotel but please be aware: The hotel is undergoing renovations until at least June 2024. TUI will not tell you this until just before you go. Be aware that there is only one very small pool, which is only in the sun until lunchtime. This is not being made clear by TUI . It isn’t the fault of the hotel. The open pool is the rectangular family one, which means it is often full of small children playing. Don’t be worried about building work affecting you though because all of that is happening across the road and you wont notice it. We were disappointed about the pool situation, just because my partner has a disability and can’t really go to the beach. It’s impossible for him to walk on sand. You also have to walk down a lot of steps to get to the beach. Other than that though we would definitely return to this hotel. The staff are all lovely and amazing, especially Christine who is just beautiful inside and out - and Pamela who is always smiling and can’t do enough for you. They definitely go above and beyond! We loved that this hotel has its own coffee shop where it’s lovely and cool and relaxing. You can get a sandwich, various coffees and cakes in there during the day and at night time it’s a “grab and go” where sandwiches and snacks are left in the fridge for you to just take. The beach is beautiful. The waves are not too big so it’s easy to get in the sea - but there is a ledge which is harder to get back up when getting out. Plenty of sunbeds but staff are on hand if you’re struggling to find one. As my partner can’t walk on the beach, we managed a couple of days to get sunbeds right at the bottom of the steps, which meant he could just step across. It gets very hot down there though when you can’t go in the sea to cool down. We thought the food was superb. Service could be a little bit slow but definitely worth it when it arrived. I’m vegetarian as well but I never struggled and neither of us had a meal we didn’t enjoy. Room was lovely with great air con, tea and coffee making facilities etc. The shower wasn’t very good, which was the only downside of the room. All in all this hotel is lovely. The people definitely make it and it’s a lovely place to relax. Hope to return.

Amazing staff and beautiful hotel

SLPER72 (Romford, United Kingdom) on Mar 25, 2024

Ahh where do I start! We have just arrived home from an amazing 12 nights at this hotel, from the start we were greeted by the most friendly guy called Kevin, given a signature cocktail while we checked in and then shown to our room which overlooked the ocean and was truly lovely, only thing is we had our 11 yr old with us and I had tried to change rooms with virgin to no avail so I requested to change once there, we spoke to both Kim and Jacqueline about this and they were absolutely fantastic , super friendly and very efficient and always checking up to make sure your stay is going well, fantastic service, and we were upgraded at no cost to a split level ocean view room which suited us so much better, it was super spacious. Food - we had absolutely no complaints whatsoever , the food was varied and cooked nicely and the al la carte meals in seascape were presented beautifully! Breakfast was lovely , the egg station chefs make a cracking omelette! The staff at this hotel make it special , a few really stood out to us, Sabrina in the Restuarant is a lovely lady, so warm and friendly , and helpful as we used her husband as our taxi driver the whole time, great couple, there’s Jennifer who wears the hair bag, our son loved her, he went to say bye especially to her! Bar men are great too, didn’t catch their names but the super smiley one with the hair bag was always calling out saying hi and addressing us by names and he makes the best rum punch! Honestly the staff are just incredible and they make this hotel special ! Use the spa! We used all our vouchers and had lovely massages , facials and scalp massage, top notch therapists ! If you are looking for evening entertainment this isn’t for you as its a relaxed atmosphere with singers that finish at 10.30 Now the dissapointing bits- the beach , you do need water shoes as there’s coral washed up along the shore and there are lots of rocks once in, plus a step down of about 18 inches, it’s not good for older people sadly, they struggled or just didn’t go in, as they couldn’t get back out, and the sea can be quite choppy with waves , not ideal. The family pool, is more city pool feel as very small, and only gets the sun until around lunchtime, that is dissapointing as advertising materiel shows a lovely large pool but that’s adults only so be aware if travelling with children. What does make up for the dissapointing bits is the water taxi, we just used that to use the other hotels in the chains pools and beaches , which were better but the hotels are far inferior to waves! To sum up, we never go back to the same place, but this will be an exception, we are already pricing up for Xmas! Our son had tears in his eyes leaving waves, it truly was an amazing place. The memories made and the people we met that worked there have a place in our heart forever!

Great view and amazing staff!! Very enjoyable stay

Blake I (London, Canada) on Mar 23, 2024

The loveliest people at this hotel. Rooms are very spacious! Our room was 2 levels and had a great view of the ocean. Location is close to most things. It was nice to be able to hop on and off of the water taxi to see other resorts. The water is pretty rough at the beach but the sand is nice. Walking into the water I would recommend water shoes it is pebbly and the rocks hit you in the feet as you walk in. Also be careful everyday there were kids being washed up by rogue waves on the beach and bumping their heads. All things you should expect to watch out for when swimming in the ocean. Not much to see with a snorkel. Food was hit and miss. It's the staff that makes this hotel fantastic great customer service.
