We had an amazing meal at teppanyaki - didier was the best chef ever and Mauricio the best waiter ever !! We went as 2 families and it was perfect. Great food and entertainment for our family with kids from 9-13 years old. Very happy! Great entertainment.

Overall review + Tips for a better stay

Ava L on Jul 20, 2024

Overall, the hotel is pretty new and nice. The standard rooms feel almost like mini suites with a separate bedroom and an extra area with a couch that turns into a bed. However, there was a downside in our room with a lot of ants near the coffee machine, which nobody seemed to care about when I mentioned it. The hotel has two nice pools and a well-maintained beach. There are different wristbands: regular and premium. The premium one costs extra and gets you access to a robed off part of the beach with different color chairs, an extra restaurant, and premium liquor like Don Julio. It’s directly next to the regular chairs so not something I found to be “exclusive”. The alcoholic drinks didn't seem to work well at all! I've heard rumors about all-inclusive hotels watering down their drinks, and this seemed true here too. (Even the servers chuckle when I mentioned it, but of course they can’t admit to it). If you want real alcohol, buy a few bottles at the Duty Free shop at the airport! The service staff were mostly friendly but lacked attention to detail, maybe because tips weren't a factor. They were present but didn't seem enthusiastic at all!!! The buffet was our favorite place to eat, scoring a solid 6.5 to 7 out of 10. The other restaurants required reservations, and despite trying daily, I couldn't get into Ayami, the “best” one. Every day we tried, and nothing! I suggest calling a few days ahead of your stay to schedule all of your dinner reservations!! Or you will be stuck with the not so great ones! The Grill restaurant was disappointing with low ceilings, a humid atmosphere, rushed service, and even expired food - I ordered a Burrata salad, and it was so old and sour - beyond expired - forcing me to get out of my seat to find a place to spit it out discreetly! There's a vegan restaurant on-site which looked nice but didn't impress with its menu. The other lunch and dinner spots were basically the same outdoor setups where they simple switch out the restaurant name from lunch to dinner, which is either hot or could get uncomfortable in rain. The entertainment programs could use some improvement as they felt mediocore. The hotel's location is quite far north in Cancun, so it's a 40-minute drive to get anywhere else. Renting a car is a good idea, since it will cost as much as airport transportation, at least this way you have opportunity to drive around and explore without additional cost of taxis (which are super expensive especially when booked from hotel). Excursions booked through the hotel were three times more expensive, so booking ahead online is smarter! For activities, jet skis are $90 for 30 minutes, parasailing costs $110 per person, and there are also sailboat classes and snorkeling available. Have fun!
