A subpar Royalton Experience

O9694QStristanc on Mar 28, 2026

If you've been to the likes of the royalton bavaro punta cana and expecting a similar experience due to the name, reconsider. The grounds are well kept but the service is beyond subpar with diamond club totally not being worth it. Pool bar service is attrocious unless you're willing to excessively tip. Oskar, Luis and Eber are easily some of the worst bar tenders I've come across in any all inclusive. Each of them openly waving tips in your face, expressing you to tip if you want their service. You will easily wait 30 minutes - 1h for a drink to be told that you can only order 2 at a time. The butler service within diamond club is ok, but again doesn't meet what you would exprience in other Royaltons. The drinks are limited to diamond club bars and the sports bar and in all honestly, you can get top shelf drinks without it. In general the majority of staff are very accomadating. The roof top is a weird experience where everyone is downgrounded. As diamond club, you have access to the local drinks for free but if you have a standard booking, you will need to pay for your drinks on the roof top. The entertainment team work really hard and are very friendly - Huge shout out to Marco! The food can be hit and miss but is certainly better than some of the local Riu's.

Don't fall for lies

Eric H on Mar 28, 2026

Paid for king room in October, came in March and they gave us queen room, no apologies no offer if making it right. Just a smug young woman that said we requested a king. They happily took our money and did not give us the room we paid for. Criminal

A party resort for the loud and wild

Sebastien F (Toronto, Canada) on Mar 27, 2026

A really solid top-tier all-inclusive in Cancún with a lot to offer, especially if you’re looking for a lively getaway. The food was good across the board with plenty of options, and while the drinks were decent, there wasn’t much in terms of top-shelf liquor. The resort itself feels upscale and well put together, though it is on the pricier side for what you get. The biggest thing to note is the vibe it definitely leans more toward a party crowd. It can get loud and a bit wild at times, so if that’s what you’re into, you’ll have a great time. Overall, a fun and energetic resort with good food and a social atmosphere just not the best fit if you’re looking for something quiet or family-oriented.

Great hotel for the price and lots of fun!

LLPProsper_Tx (Prosper, Tx) on Mar 27, 2026

As a travel agent I enjoy going to a lot of Cancun area resorts from budget to mid level to luxury. I would consider this adults only Royalton a great mid level resort at an affordable price point. I came with a ladies group at Spring Break and we upgraded to the Diamond Club extra, which included a private pool area, drinks on the rooftop, a separate area at the beach, and a tiny lounge area with premium drinks. We did not think it was worth the extra money because we enjoyed hanging out at the noisy activity pool and rarely went to the itsy bitsy lounge. Pros: *Food is good with a wide variety in buffet—-gorgeous 2nd floor area with a view *Room was nice and the view from the ocean front is unreal *Arianny at the Diamond Club beach area was the best server ever! She was friendly, very attentive, and came by so often our drinks never were empty. (See pic) *Activity pool was hopping all the time with games, foam parties, and lots of dancing *An amazing country singer came and he sounded exactly like every artist he played. *Mexican Fiesta night was the BEST I’ve ever been to in Mexico with lots of food authentic food choices and delicious desserts *Melecio in Vespa was amazing and Rodolfo in La Hacienda was patient with our big group. Young waiter (David?) in Rooftop 18 was so sweet *Massage at spas first class. I had Morgan and she was great. *Entertainment came around to get guests active *Beds comfortable *Robes and slippers nice touch *Coffee shop good *rooftop pool very quiet and zen during the day *nightclub and rooftop parties were great (it would nice if they accepted song requests) *never got approached regarding time share *kindly lent us an adapter Cons: (not too many and some are small) *Elevators can be slow *Diamond Lounge tiny and location poor *hard to get reservations for dinner except very early or very late (but butler will get reservations for you if you buy full Diamond club) *a few front desk girls were a tad cold but most were very accommodating *hotel can’t help this but LOTS of vendors soliciting but they don’t harass you Overall I would send my clients here if they wanted a great mid level resort. I’ve stayed at other Royalton so I know the brand is good!
