The staff at this resort is just the best. Carlos & ladies at the pool made it a great afternoon. Christian, Eduardo, Juan at check in/out, bars & waitstaff. Rivera on massage was amazing! We had a great time and really appreciate the amazing staff that took extra good care of everyone. Thank you!

First of all, the place is very pretty and the rooms are very nice and spacious. We loved the long bench for placing suitcases etc. I also really liked the gym. Very clean and good equipment. Pool was also great. The food: the seafood restaurant and the Mexican restaurant were delicious for dinner! Highly recommend those. The taco grill by the pool was also very delicious- small portion, so order a few items! We also ate at the pool cafe restaurant for lunch and I enjoyed the soup and burrito there. Why I gave it a 3 stars....-the Italian restaurant was terrible. I ordered the carbonara and my pasta was ok, but the "crispy" pancetta was large cubes of soft various colored meat .. My husband had the penne pasta that also seemed to include the interesting meat and tasted, unfortunately, like chef boyardee. The waiter never offered dessert nor more drinks. So, disappointing dinner. The staff- we had a 14 hour travel experience due to 2 plane malfunctions and traffic etc. We were supposed to arrive at 11:30 and did not get there until 730 pm on an already short 3 day trip. So, we arrive at hotel, the man who greeted us was very nice, asked about the travel, I just explained it was not a good experience. He told us to wait for a golf cart to take us to check in. We had a glass of champagne, so fine, we waited ( like 3 min). Then we get to the check in area. We sit to check in, I again explain of our terrible travel experience (because we were asked) and then he continues to try to upgrade us, fine, but no thanks. Then someone says ok your bags are out here, do you want to get a drink before we take you to your room. I said yes! Went to the little bar there and as we are walking out, a man says oh did they explain your hotel credits? I said no, he said ok please sit, we sit and he asks us how much we travel and pulls up a map of different hotels. Trying not to be rude, I asked is this a timeshare, he said no it's a vacation club. I said I'm really sorry, but I just want to go to our room maybe I'll come back and we can talk at another time. We then left and saw our bags on a cart but no one was around. Again, we waited about 5 min, no one came. This has now been about 45-60 min check in... Finally , our friends walk up who arrived earlier and I asked them to show us to our room since I knew we were next to each other. We got our bags and our friends showed us our room. So, overall, terrible check in experience. It's definitely not their fault that our travels were terrible, but they did not seem sympathetic at all and just wanted to upsell us. This just rubbed us the wrong way. To be fair, the staff at the main entrance bar were the best and we had 2 pool servers, one wonderful lady and I believe Miguel who were great. The pool activities crew were fun, but over all I felt that the staff did not seem very friendly. Another issue was the app- we were trying to book spa and the hibachi and it never worked. The front staff said oh try at 130. We did every day and it didn't work. Then someone else told us, the hibachi restaurant is closed. Oh and the spa is too- you have to use the spa next door at Dreams. So, the staff was a bit misinformed and therefore we did not get to do those things. There were also no beach activities, very quiet beach with the bali beds for the premium rooms. Overall, I would not stay here again if I had a choice.

As a UVC member we are thrilled to see the expansion with World of Hyatt. Secrets Playa Mujeres is a smaller resort which is nice and it is absolutely beautiful. The beach is wonderful, the newly renovated spaces including the rooms are nicely done and the service is always warm and efficient. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

We had an Excellent stay. We were upgraded to the master suite upon arrival. Wow what a beautiful room. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. First day Marcela in Preferred Club lounge was amazing, always has a smile and kind words throughout our stay. She always makes our stay special. Martha at the Preferred Club Pool goes above and beyond also makes our stay very special doing lots of things throughout each day to make us feel special. David at the Cafe Market was excellent we had the best breakfast service from him and he took extra steps in his service to make us feel special. The omelette’s were absolutely delicious and all the food was fresh and tasty. Luis Preferred Club Breakfast and Lunch such a pleasure. He always goes out of his way to help us and give excellent service. All of the restaurants were excellent and the food was delicious. There were so many wonderful things and people during our stay we already made our reservation to return in September. If you’re looking for a place to relax, have fun and be pampered this is the place to feel like a king. During our stay the weather was absolutely beautiful. Looking forward to next time.

We stayed here 7-14 march staying in a preferred club ocean view room. Calling it an ocean view room was a 'stretch' but that is about my only negative comment- we had a super holiday. So much so - we've booked to go again next year as it ticked all the boxes for a 'fly and flop' holiday. Anything we asked for eg iron or extra hangers were sent up very quickly -i asked for a kettle so i could make tea in the morning but no kettles to be had so room service brought us hot water and tea bags every morning- thank you! Food wasn't bad (way better than secrets Jamaica ) - we ate at dreams a couple of times the Brazilian and the french - we didn't try the preferred restaurant for dinner as the food wasn't to my taste but everyone who we met who ate there said it was very good. We mixed up breakfast at the preferred club or the buffet as sometimes you just want to nip in and be out quickly. Buffet was ok - id like to have seen more choice of nuts and seeds to put on my yogurt and better choice of breads for toast but pastries were very good - very much geared up for American palate as obviously mainly Americans in hotel we didn't hear another English accent all week! I loved coco cafe great for coffees on the way back from gym. Gym had plenty of cardio- they could do with more lighter weights for us ladies as there were plenty of very heavy weights which is the same complaint i have at every hotel I stay at!! Us ladies lift too ! Sunrise yoga was fab what a great way to start the day !Such a lovely lady who took the class- i cant remember her name now - how quickly we forget We went to chichen itza- booked through the tour company at hotel - its a long day pick up at 630 am not back till 7. Not helped by fact we seemed to drop off lots of people in Cancun itself on way back which was annoying- we did complain but despite being told someone would get back to us no one did. WE both had a great massage in dreams spa as secrets spa still not open but the reception staff at spa in dreams could do with some customer service training one woman literally stood and watched me shower to ensure before i went into steam room- i felt i was back at school!. We thought service levels were very attentive- hotel got noticeably busier at weekend as i think the americans fly in for long weekends but we did not have any issue getting beds at preferred pool or on beach which was great! Looking forward to going next year already!
