The staff and experience here was fantastic. However, I was part of a resuscitative effort that occurred on the beach of a man that either had a sudden cardiac event or other emergency in which we did CPR for at least 25 minutes prior to EMS arrival. I called for an AED several times and the staff said they didn't have one. When EMS arrived, they had a 30 year old cardiac monitor with paddles and no disposable defibrillation pads. I was shocked that our neighbor to the South was so ill-iquipped for emergencies. In talking with the resort staff I learned that none of the resorts in Cozumel have AEDs which concerns me greatly. I want to help but don't know how. These resorts make thousands of dollars a day and don't have first world supplies or education for their visitors. Willing to help but don't know how. Greg Wolf

Such a great getaway. The Occidental Cozumel is such a great property. Super pool, bars, restaurants and the staff is phenomenal! Us and another couple went from Dec. 1 - Dec. 7, 2025. The weather was sunny and 82 everyday. We did a snorkel excursion that we booked with a group that comes to the resort to pick us up. Otherwise we stayed on site the other days and met lots of guest and the staff. We played pool volleyball everyday, did stretching and water exercise classes in the morning to earn our beverages for the day :). Folks on staff that really stood out are Raul, the Entertainment Director. He is awesome. He not only went out of his way to meet us but he remembered us among many others guests. He really made us feel welcome. Carla, Laura and Abril were fantastic drink servers. They always kept us hydrated and always with a smile on their face. We look forward to going back next year so we can see friends we’ve made and enjoy another getaway in paradise.

This is out second 2 week vacation here in November to December and we stayed in the Royal Level. This is an amazing place, the rooms are spotless and cleaned every day, the fridge is stocked daily, the pool is clean, the colleagues are very helpful and friendly. We had the fortune to have access to the Royal Level Restaurant. Breakfast lunch and dinner menu and quality of the freshly cooked food served is outstanding. The colleagues that work there are exceptional and I have to make a special mention and attach photos of these guys that shared their knowledge of the local food and drinks, the Mexican choices are outstanding and well worth trying each and every one. Thank you to all the colleagues who go over and above and a special mention to Lupe, Carlos. Och, Rogelio, chef Paulo, Yazmin, the other Carlos, Claudia. Only managed to get a few photos of these but all were amazing. Thank you so much for a perfect holiday!! ??

The resort is fantastic. Great service, accommodations, food, pool and beach with lots of activities to keep you active (if you desire). This is the second year we've stayed at the Occidental and we plan to go back next year. The rooms are spacious and me and my wife loved the stocked frige. Food quality is good with lots of options. All meals are buffet style in the main restaurant and then there are 3 other order-off-the-menu places as well. The pool and beach are so nice. We played pool volleyball, trivia games and other pool game with the staff that helped up meet other guests. Kayaks and snorkel gear is availble to borrow.

Our 8th time to mexico. This is a smaller resort. 1 Buffet and 3 a la cartes. The food was good, the a la cartes have very good food. The beach is small, lost a lot after the last hurricane. The rooms is nice and grounds are well kept. 1 tennis court that is in good shape. Some ok snorkeling right off the beach on the left side of the swimming area. It is a fairly quiet resort. Shows are smaller and outside. All of the workers were very helpful and friendly.
