I have just spent a week at the Occidental and I loved it. The staff were wonderful, the room was wonderful, the diving was wonderful. Reading some of the recent negative reviews I wonder if these people have stayed in the same hotel as me... or maybe they are just precious and entitled? My only suggestion for improvement would be that tea is a mystery to Mexican people and a kettle in the room would be nice. Oh, and a drying airer on terrace would also be very helpful.

This place was fantastic. People, resort, food, entertainment and basically everything about it was tops. It exceeded my expectations. Worth every penny....definitely recommend it for an anniversary or just to experience and great location

we were a group of 14 people from various parts of Ontario, Canada. We had a great time at the resort. Friendly and helpful staff; food was varied and well cooked; grounds well-groomed, etc.

Love this place. THey definitely need to get more beach chairs, mostly due to people savingchairs for hours without being there.

Wow! We stayed at the Occidental Cozumel from Feb 25th to Mar 4th and this beautiful, clean, cozy, and friendly resort exceeded our expectations in every way. Our spacious and comfortable room was always kept neat and tidy-thank you Cristina C. The food was delicious and varied enough to suit every taste, even to those who aren't very adventurous . The servers were very attentive and made each meal a pleasure-especially Crisley G., Melchior and Aaron. The bar staff throughout the resort were awesome, friendly, and were always wanting to make sure everyone was happy and having a good time, especially Santos F., Reyna R, and Carla I. and the lobby bartenders. The pools were clean and the beach was great-far less seaweed than on the mainland, and great for long walks on the sand. There were lots of happy snorkelers and divers when we were there. The nightly entertainment was fantastic-far superior to most of the resorts we have been to. Honestly, you don't want to miss any of the shows. We had a great stay and will recommend this resort to all our friends.
