The Worst Hotel Experience of My Life
Howard L (Randolph, United States) on Mar 06, 2026
This was easily my worst hotel experience of my life. The reservation process coupled with the email I received the next day was horrible, I'll try to be as concise as possible. 1-On November 29, 2025 I made a reservation on the hotel website for 3 nights at a price of $704.83. I promptly received an email confirmation, So far -all good. 2- The very next day I received the following email from the hotel-" Good morning. I hope this email finds you well, the reason for this message is to inform you that the credit card that you provided for your reservation was declined. We are kindly requesting for an alternative form of payment at your earliest convenience to avoid cancellation of your reservation. We appreciate a prompt response to this matter. Thank you Sincerly The Reservation team." 3- I immediately called the credit card company and was told that not only was my credit card NOT declined but there was no attempt by the hotel to charge it. I then verified that info with a supervisor. 4- I immediately called the hotel and was transferred to the person in charge of reservations but I got her voice mail ( Possibly her name was Crystal). She did not return my call. I called two more times and each time I got her voice mail and again no return call. 5- I also replied twice to the email- again no response 6- A few days later I got an email saying my reservation is confirmed for $847.83- about $103.00 more than the original reservation and magically my card was successfully charged. 6- Now I am starting to think my 11/29 reservation was cancelled as it did not appear on my online inquiry. And they made a new reservation at a higher price. As it turns out the world headquarters for Wyndam/Ramada hotels is 20 minutes from my house. So I drove there and a nice man said he'll help me out, which he did. About ten days latter I received an e-mail from a Hector telling me my reservation is active and the original price will be honored. Phone calls and emails should be returned and a customer should not have to personally go down to world headquarters to solve any issue While I was not looking for any freebies but considering all the time and effort I put into this, I should have been giving free parking/ breakfast/ a room upgrade or something. I also have plenty to say about the hotel itself but this review is long enough
Rotten , dirty hotel with dishonest staff
karl316 (Middlesbrough, United Kingdom) on Mar 05, 2026
Rotten , dirty hotel with dishonest staff. We checked in at 2:30pm and checked out at 6pm after seeing the filthy state of the room. Dirty towels, previous guests body hair all over the bathroom mould, smell of damp, the list goes on. The lady on the front desk said we could check out and get a refund if we contact booking.com. So, we checked out , asked for our vehicle and left. Only to find that when we have requested our refund, the hotel now say they have no record of me checking out. Well if they checked cctv they would see me checking out and speaking to the lady on duty, if they checked the valet parking records they would see I checked out and I have toll pass records which show my vehicle was 100 plus miles away. So, not no record, they don’t want a record. Disgusting behaviour from a big corporation. I am currently chasing a refund if this is not get authorised I will take this matter to the company headquarters.
Worst Hotel in 50 years
A17ACR (Bradford, United Kingdom) on Feb 27, 2026
As soon as I pulled up and struggled with 5 bags out of our taxi and valet and concierge just watching I knew this would be interesting. My first impressions very noisy foyer with air conditioning on par with a 747 plane. The hotel is a mix of hotel rooms , private owner condos and air b and b rooms and it doesn’t have a bar or restaurant after 6pm The hotel is on Collins Avenue right on the beach and the nearest bar and restaurant is a good distance away. On arrival at our room we were presented with a host of issues and after a stressful day we unpacked for the couple of days and explored. Our room with two double beds was tired and scruffy and dust you can right your name in. Floors scuffed all over bathroom floor bowed and lifted with sharp edges Batteries in Tv remote dead batteries in safe dead too Dangerous metal bar at bottom of bed on side which you catch leg on easy. Kitchen cupboards won’t open as they catch on the ceiling ! And consistent with the foyer the air con is like a 747 and blows dust out. Skirting boards thick of dust Also a first ! plastic basin taps which leaked when used from the base. The toilet constantly filled 24/7 and on inspection a rusty fitting inside was the issue. When asked about issues at reception was told someone would come. But they didn’t The fridge freezer in the room was rusty and stained too . There is a pizza takeout in the basement which did offer a reasonable food option. But other than that after 6pm nothing Outside the pool side is currently a construction site and hosts a pool bar with the smallest plastic overpriced drinks ever and food which is not the best. We sat outside but the wind blew and the construction site sand blew all over us and into our drinks so sitting outside was not an option plus the jack hammering was defening. The baby pool was grim and even had a dead gecko in the bottom. You even pay $100 deposit for the room which we are still waiting for back and a resort fee !! It’s a slap in the face and I would avoid at all costs. When questioned the reception manager she just apologised and said she would feed it back to general manager. Come on I’m not the first Shut the place and refurbish it stop taking peoples money
Mold In rooms and the Ventilation
Tiffany H on Feb 26, 2026
We recently stayed at the Ramada in Miami and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. There was visible mold in multiple areas of our room — on both air vents, on the lampshade, and in the bathroom. It was also on the ceiling above the bathtub (I didn’t get a photo of that area), and you could clearly see spots that had been painted over where mold had previously been. The paint was already peeling and the mold was coming back through. I am allergic to mold, and I woke up with a severe headache and body aches. It was obvious something wasn’t right. I went to the front desk immediately and explained the situation. I was told they would make sure I received a refund, but later the refund was denied. I took photos and am posting them so others can make an informed decision. Cleanliness and air quality are not optional when it comes to hospitality. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.
STAY AWAY …. Filthy!!
Terry H (Rensselaer, New York) on Feb 24, 2026
Place is dirty, run down, dirty beach chairs, outside bar… under construction. Pool and hottub disgusting. We checked out 15 minutes after we checked in! And they have the audacity to charge a 50 dollar resort fee for old filthy towers.
