First trip to Grand Cayman Marriott - def not the last
Feb 24, 2024
My wife and I went to Grand Cayman for a week in February, and stayed at the Marriott on 7-Mile beach. The staff was fantastic. When ever we were poolside, Neil was our waiter and was amazing, greeted us by name every day and provided everything we needed. Definitely a great stay.
Awesome. Poolside service is the best!

The service was fantastic. Especially poolside service. Neil was our server and was extremely attentive and at times even seem to read our mind. As well as the other pool staff who are extremely helpful at all times! We will definitely go back.
Incredible guest services

Guest services here were incredible. And in particular Jerome at the pool was amazing. Very attentive.
And although the hotel has lost its beach, the view of the ocean is still glorious and the beach can be accessed a bit north of the Marriott.
Would recommend as a good value for the money.
Blindsided and Disappointed!!!

This was not our first time to Grand Cayman or to the Marriott. We were really caught off guard. It started from the time we checked in, through our visit.
First, you inform us that we had been upgraded to one of the newly renovated rooms with a courtyard view verses a building. This was not an upgrade. My status is "Titanium Elite". They put us on the 2nd floor which meant that every time we went or left our room, we were walking across the bridge with construction workers. Since the other side of the hotel was closed to construction, but the workers were going back and forth every day all day (Avoid the 2nd floor). Construction is everywhere!! The overall look of the property was disappointing. The grounds need some work. It can get loud especially around the pool area. Since they no longer have any beach front (NO Beach), means everyone is around the pool area. They were working around the hot tub area and other areas. There is LIMITED space around the pool. The staff does an amazing job, based on the circumstances. They informed us we could go to the Westin which has a beach area and there is a shuttle that runs between the two properties. Well, we took the shuttle to the Westin to be informed by the Westin, they we could not use the pool area or the beach or towels. They offered us a luxury cabana for $$$$. Seriously!!! This was so embarrassing, get the communication between the two properties on the same page. During the check in process, we were informed that they did not have the breakfast vouchers but not to worry, we would get the credit. Once we got our final bill, you guessed it, no credit. We went to the front desk to get it corrected and they actually challenged us on the credit, it was the same individual who informed us they didn't have the vouchers.
You can change the name, but you really need to complete the construction in the hotel, pool and around the property. This was not a standard I have come to expect from Marriott. We felt blindsided and was very disappointed. We will remove this location from our "FAVS" list!!!!!
It’s a HARD NO, especially with small children
Feb 19, 2024
It’s a no for me! To call this a resort is laughable. It reminded me of a lame holiday inn. One small pool, not nearly enough chairs, no beach at all. Very few activities of interest for small children but above all no where AT ALL for kids to safely run around outside. I would never recommend having a family with small children or toddlers stay here. Dinner in night 1 took 1hr 40 min and I still never received my actual entree. Construction directly next to the hot tub. Literally imagine looking at the ocean and concrete and hearing saws. Definitely better options around the island. Oh the pool is so tiny and not even warm. We spent more of today in the room than any other vacation I’ve ever taken- totally not worth it if you plan to stay at the hotel all day. If you are out and about all day and every day perhaps it’s okay because the rooms are comfy and large.
