Nice room and view, however service is pretty poor.

- Our oceanfront view was lovely. Location is great. Elevator system is good. - The shower/bath tap system didn’t work properly and was slightly loose, it meant the bath tap ran at the same time as showerhead. - The towel rails in the bathroom make no sense, they’re too low to the floor or mean hanging your towel over switches, the bidet etc. Combined with the second daily housekeeping, we found we often had to use damp towels due to this design flaw. - Second daily housekeeping is kind of annoying, it seems more as a method to cut costs rather than be environmentally friendly. They also only supply water bottle on your first day, we stayed over a week and housekeeping threw out the bottles so I had to buy more to refill. - They wanted a $500 security deposit, there’s no clear information about how they come up with the amounts. When we queried why the other couples deposit was only $200, she couldn’t answer. She then dropped ours to $200 when we explained we weren’t interested in room service. - Pool area is pretty cool. - We stayed at Sheraton Princess Kauilani and found the service far more friendly, housekeeping was daily and they constantly offered you water to stay hydrated, helpful to fix problems. Sheraton’s service was significantly better when Alohilani cost more which is annoying. - I do feel Alohilani use ‘environmentally’ friendly as a means more to cut costs and maximise their profits, at the expense of customer service. We were pretty disappointed in this experience, the saving grace was our room was comfortable and our view was beautiful. However the value for money wasn’t quite there and next time, I’d probably go with a Sheraton hotel again.

Great hotel to choose in Waikiki

Alohilani access to Waikiki beach is very convenient. Hotel is clean and modern with great guest services. A shout out to Kazu in Guest services for courteous help. Restaurants nearby. Hotel is central and walkable to shopping and other sights. Will stay again,
