No Disclosure of Labor Strike Impact
Ella S on Oct 05, 2024
I recently stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki and was extremely disappointed. The hotel failed to inform guests online that they are experiencing a severe labor shortage due to an ongoing strike by workers, who are striking because of inadequate pay and unfair working conditions. As a result, the service quality has drastically declined, and nearly all amenities are unavailable. They are instructing guests to do their own laundry—even though there are no laundry facilities—and expecting guests to even buy their own toilet paper. Laborers are striking right outside the facilities and begin at 5am or earlier so good luck getting any sleep here. It is unacceptable for a major hotel like Hilton to withhold such critical information from guests booking their stays. More importantly, the fact that they aren’t compensating their workers fairly only adds to the disillusionment. I fully support the striking workers and hope the multibillion dollar organization running the Hilton addresses their grievances soon, but until they do, I cannot recommend staying here. Park Hotels and Resorts needs to do better—both for their guests and their hardworking staff.
Great Hospitality! Mahalo!

Absolutely wonderful check in experience. A bit of a hustle getting in this morning. Hoping to get settled before starting a busy work trip. I can be a little picky and Adele was kind and professional. Great Hawaii hospitality!! Thank you for making it smooth.
