Disappointing First Stay — Won’t Be Returning
Q8624KVbobc (Houston, Texas) on May 18, 2025
I stayed at Park MGM for a quick weekend getaway to catch a couple shows, and unfortunately, my first experience left a lot to be desired. Although check-in at 12:30am was quick and easy, I was disappointed to find I’d been placed in a handicap-accessible room, despite booking a standard king. The room was only kind of clean—the carpet looked grimy, the showerheads were visibly dirty, and the whole space had a lingering smell of marijuana, even though it’s a non-smoking hotel. The air conditioning never reached the set temperature, and there was an annoying motor sound that kicked on every minute or so, making sleep difficult. As a Marriott Titanium member, I expected a room upgrade and a $20 per night food and beverage credit—neither of which were clearly honored. At checkout, I was told the credit only applied to breakfast at one restaurant, which wasn’t disclosed at check-in. After raising the issue, they did remove $40 from my bill, but the lack of clarity was frustrating. The pool was decent, and the food was fine—but nothing stood out. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations, and I don’t see myself returning to Park MGM.
Ugly red or green rooms that smell old

The rooms are horrendous. Why would they paint rooms red or green. The carpet was a nasty brown color and the room smelled old. They need to upgrade this property. The beds were comfortable at least. I was expecting a lot more and was very disappointed.
