Five Star Hotel with a bad housekeeper

This is a 5 Star hotel that had a bad housekeeper. On the freshly made bed was a pillow, when flipped over had a clump on hair on it. Then, there were two lollipops inside the pillow case. Ugh!!! The staff was wonderful, being able to go to the roof and enjoy the Disneyland fireworks at night time.
Egregious Customer Service for the Unforseen

We had two nights booked for Springhill Suites for May 13 and 14th, 2024. The night we checked in, we went to dinner across the street at The Cheesecake Factory, and then did some walking at Downtown Disney before turning in for the night in our Family Suite. Little did we know, my eldest daughter and I, mom, were about to come down with food poisoning from the Cheesecake Factory and spent the entire night from midnight to morning violently ill. Early morning of the 14th, we knew weren’t going to be able to push through our food poisoning at Disneyland. What other choice did we have but to cancel our Disneyland reservations for that day and drive home? We didn’t have a choice… we managed to scrape up ourselves out of the bathroom and pack our four kids back up and check out of the hotel by 9:30am (well before their 11am checkout time). My husband personally spoke to the employees working and thoroughly explained our situation, that it was an emergency, and we were very very sick and were having to suddenly leave. It was out of our control! Our hotel was booked through Expedia, and initially Springhill Employees advised us that we would have to go through Expedia to see about a refund for the second night. Which we did, Expedia reached out to Springhill and was given the wait-around. Springhill management, specifically Elizabeth Diaz, has refused to refund us the cost of our second night staying that we checked out after the refundable checkout timeframe. The refundable checkout time was last weekend, days before our stay. This was an unforeseeable emergency and we are only asking for a refund for the night we were not staying in the hotel. Not the night we spent violently ill and stayed. The only good thing I can speak about this hotel is the CVS below was incredibly convenient for having food poisoning and needing Gatorade in the morning, and secondly that the front desk employees gave us two trash bags as vomit bags for our 2.5 hour drive home. That’s it. There should be a plan and humanity in place for the unforeseen events. In this case, customer satisfaction and being a good human came last to Springhill Suites, and I can’t in good faith advise anyone to put their trust in this hotel (or The Cheesecake Factory for that matter).
