Never a 4* lucky if 2*, please change this hotel if already booked.
Bad points... Most staff are terrible and you can tell they don't enjoy working there.
Ran out of butter 3 days, bacon never ready at breakfast time,
Cats in restaurants,
pool not cleaned for two weeks, horrible sun loungers round the pool,no clean towels in rooms for days, toilets not working ,ran out of toilet rolls, ran out of drinks round the pool , water not replenished in the rooms ,room not ready till 4 ish.
Entertainment terrible round the pool with nowhere to sit .
If you want anything it can take ages and I mean ages.
We booked this hotel 3yrs ago with great reviews PLEASE read the latest reviews because you will see it wasn't just us .
Just wished we'd changed because it cost us a LOT of money .

Tui you need to take this hotel off because you sold us a terrible hotel, what you call 4* is never that. ??

Where to start?
Hotel looks and feels dated even though it was built in 2016, they used cheap materials and not fitted to a good standard.
Staff very rude and clearly not happy so service given with attitude and slow, staff rolling their eyes at you if you asked for things as if they couldn't be bothered or they would say they don't have any without even going to look first. Only
one member of staff serving pancakes, French toast, frying eggs, making omelettes to order, serving bacon, scrambled eggs, ect caused people waiting along time to be served and food going cold by the time you get it to the table.
Same problems getting drinks, only one person at the bar by the pool so waiting time not good, and constantly running out or things. Fighting to be heard over the music booming out with the speaker inside the serving area rather then facing out towards the pool area
Frozen drinks very rarely frozen, nobody serving ice-cream lunch or dinner time and when you did find someone to serve you the Ice cream wasn't frozen either so had no ice cream for the whole 2weeks we were there.
Bathroom flooded everytime we had a shower as shower cubicle very badly fitted and mouldy around edges. Bedroom cupboards poorly fitted so doors overlapped rather then close flush and very few coat hangers, no draws other than bedside draw's.
Patio door was broken and did not lock we were on the 5th floor, was mentioned but nobody looked at it till the day we were leaving,
Room cleaned every day but there was always something not done, either no toilet paper left even though it's clear more needed leaving or no hand towels or no drinks replaced in fridge so always at reception to get things missed
No water for a few hours one day so couldn't have a shower, wash face in sink or even flush the toilet.
No kettle in rooms so no hot drinks available till breakfast time which starts at 7am so not ideal unless you bring your own kettle, tea and coffee.
All little things but they are what make or break your holiday.
Overall very disappointed and not worth the money paid, will not be going back and definitely will not recommend this hotel to anybody.
Don't waste your money

When arriving at the hotel there was no bottled water in my room. Despite asking twice I had to wait for 24 hours. Asked for a basic cocktail and they didn't have the ingredients. The best they could do was a strawberry slushy with rum in it masquerading as a strawberry daiquiri..
The room was ok and had a nice view. Nice and clean. Food was nice, especially the jerk sausage at breakfast.
entertainment was quite good but only lasted an hour. The spa was completely closed and the only activity on offer was water aerobics.
Took a walk out the second night and apart from being constantly pestered I did find a nice bar and had a proper cocktail.
After a few days I began to feel like a prisoner as there is nothing along the street to go out to.
Had a really good excursion with tropical tours up to 9 mile where bob marley was born and buried.
Security guard on the gate suggested I go to her friend's shop which I was quite happy to do at first. Picked out a few things then expected to pay and leave. Unfortunately I was surrounded by 5 other women who all had shops and they wouldn't let me go until I'd bought something in all the shops. Ended up being fleeced for $520 or £420 for a handful of tacky souvenirs which I'm now disputing with my bank.
Will not be returning.

We are three Canadian couples ranking from old, older and oldest and have stayed at this resort from the 8th to the 15th of June. Our ages span from 55 to 82 years old but we are all young at heart and like to have fun. We have all done extensive travelling all around the world. We have stayed at many all inclusive resorts ranging from 3 stars to 5 stars all over the Caribbean and Mexico. So we know a thing or two or three...
Firstly, we chose this resort because we wanted something smaller (146 rooms in total with less people. It was half full when we were there.) We wanted to feel safe during the Covid pandemic even though we are heading towards an endemic (fingers crossed). This resort fit the size and price. Given the price that we paid, we are realistic and feel this resort is more of a 3.5 stars instead of 4. This review is of the opinion from the six of us. We have broken it down in three categorizes. Feel free to read all three, maybe two, maybe one or none at all. We won't be offended nor do we really care...
---within our budget of no more than $1500 CAD each
---close to airport (short 5 minutes drive)
---right on "hip strip" for easy walk to shops/restaurant
---great layout for guests with mobility issues
---all ocean facing rooms (our rooms were 1333, 1502, and drum roll...the coveted
superior end room on the highest floor, 1501 with spectacular views and a huge
balcony. We were all happy with the location of our rooms. The couple with room
1501 felt like the King and Queen of Montego Bay!
---all rooms are big, modern and smelled fresh, not musty or mouldy
---comfortable beds, sheets and comforter
--- watched the nightly entertainment from the comfort of our balconies from 9:30
---most staff we encountered with very friendly. Don't know why reviewers complain
about rude staff especially in the buffet. We never experience any rude staff. Our
favourites were Arlando (the ever energetic and entertaining spider man), Tevan,
Stacey, Stacey N., Rennay, Renee, Rose, Dwayne, Jerome and Wally. THANK YOU
ALL for taking care of us!
---could always get a beach palapa (mind you, resort was only half full.)
---lots of Jamaican dishes to sample at the buffet/ delicious soups
---a la carte restaurant, Oliva, on the beach has lovely ambience and delicious
food. We were able to dine there three nights, two of them to celebrate a
birthday and an anniversary. Let them know that you are celebrating and the
staff will decorate your table with table cloths and flowers. They also gave us
sparkling wine on the table. Really nice!
---men don't have to wear long pants at Oliva
---fun games from entertainment team with prizes of small bottles of rum
---sister exchange with Royal Decameron Montego Bay next door
---lack of storage space and hangers in rooms
---no Kleenex or clocks in rooms
---phone doesn't work in room 1501 and also only given one key for this room
---no paper towels in the men's restrooms for two straight days even after many
guests complained to front desk
---food in buffet is only luke warm and not always replenished
---no one scooping ice cream for most of our 7 day stay. Only one time and the ice
cream is soft and melting
---smell of weed and cigarette smoke on beach and sitting outside on our balconies
---worst pina coladas ever in all of the all inclusive resorts we have ever been to
---liked the coffee bar but wished they would have some cookies/pastries to go with
---very slippery shower floor and water seeping out from underneath the shower
---guests fighting over the one plate of delicious coconut macaroons served at the
lunch buffet (make more, please!)
---only one staff serving at the three stations at the buffet making for very long line
ups. We have seen numerous complaints posted on TripAdvisor about this. Why
doesn't management have another staff working behind the three stations
instead of one who is running around like crazy?!?!?
---we like to treat the staff right with $1 tips here and there for good service, but, we
don't like when they put their hands out and ask for it
---the restrooms beside the buffet in the main lobby were out of order for half the
time we were there. Once, for two days straight. Was told to use the restrooms on
second floor, not always convenient. Never saw any plumber fixing the restrooms.
---while it is nice having open air restaurants, we were bitten by lots of mosquitos
even though we used insect repellent. Resort needs to spray more.
In conclusion, we all really wanted to love this resort but unfortunately, it felt short in a few areas. With a little tweaking and more management, The Royal Decameron Cornwall could be a fabulous 4 star resort. All in all, we didn't dwell on the negatives but focused on the positives. Life is short, especially at our ages, and we still all had a great and enjoyable week.

The staff was friendly food was good jus wanted more options. Same goes for the bar. The room was clean however wen we shower the bathroom would flood. The iron wasn’t working and they gave us a different one n it burnt our clothes because it has no gage.
