We had booked for a two week vacation in the Mangrove after previously visiting a number of 5 star hotels in Jamaica , the first 10 days was very nice and the staff were fantastic and could not do enough to make you feel welcome . Then everything changed a Party of 400 plus corporate guests from the USA turned up, the so called quiet pool became a party pool and the general language was not what I would expect in a 5 Star hotel . Things got even worse when a function was held on the beach on their last night after which they all came into the bar area and again the vast majority of hotel guests got up and left because the noise and behaviour was not what I would expect or I have been used to in other 5 star hotels around the World. Later that evening I went to reception to enquire if there was a complaints procedure and whilst discussing the issues with the employee there was queue of other disgruntled guests waiting to have the same conversation and it was whilst we were all talking about 30/40 of the corporate party came through the lobby area shouting and chanting at the top of their voices which even the employee rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders. But nothing was done to try and curb the thuggish behaviour of the party which made the 20 plus Holiday makers from Britain feel like we were second class citizens . In our opinion this hotel is not 5 star because that type of behaviour would not have been allowed firstly and a few small things which surprised us on arrival , room service 15 dollars, no Miniature Spirits in the rooms , no turn down service, no cold towels around the pool area , no beach BBQ, and the drinks service around the pool was poor

An incredible, first clas all-inclusive experience!

My spouse and I have just returned to Canada after spending a tremendous week at this gorgeous, spacious and friendly resort. Everything lived up to, and often exceeded, our expectations: the impeccable, thoughtful service and many dedicated staff, the delicious food and varied drink options, the large, modern and well-equipped gym, the high quality entertainment and hard working entertainers, the beautiful pools (some intentionally quieter than others) and the lovely, well-maintained beach. Even though we were in Building 4, a fair distance from the lobby, we actually quite enjoyed our many walks through the resort and the adjacent Princes Grand. Golf carts were always readily available but we only used them, with our luggage, when we arrived and when we checked out. Our non-platinum, non-swim up junior suite was huge and even bigger than it appears in photographs. It was more than good enough for us (and we've stayed in some nice places). We especially enjoyed the à la carte restaurants (we tried all of them at least once except for the Japanese and Asian fusion ones) although it is wise to get there early since they are nearly all first-come first served. Each was distinct, each had its own kitchen and each created an illusion that you'd actually left the hotel. Truly unique for an all-inclusive but totally fitting for the Mangrove, which may have given us the best all-inclusive experience we'll ever have. Thanks so much for a great week!

A great visit with amazing people and beautiful views! Room service food was not it though.

We went here for our honeymoon for 7 days. It's was a wonderful time. There were three people who made the whole experience stand out but there were tons more who were wonderful to us. Ella at the Euphoria Beach bar was an absolute delight. Even when she was busy she would make sure I had what I needed. The whole entertainment crew was top tier. They would make sure to include everyone and insure everyone was able to participate. The best part of our stay was the bubble party in the pool and the dance lesson right before. They would also play volleyball on the beach and we got the chance to get to know Destine and Kemar. They were a pleasure to chat with. I would have given 5 stars but there were 2 things that stood out to me whole we were there. One was the room service food. The restaurants were delicious with wonderful people making sure we were well taken care of, but the food from room service was not it. We ordered twice and none of the food was near as good as what the restaurants has to offer. Two was the swim up bar occasonally wouldn't have anyone stationed there so there would be people waiting for drinks for 10 to 15 minutes for someone to come around. And for two days the swim up side of the bar just wasn't open.

Beautiful resort, friendly staff, great food

We enjoyed our week on the platinum side of this resort Our butlers, Hermique and Keen, were absolutely fabulous They took care of our group of six women all week Best butlers we have ever had, anywhere The food was fantastic ! The resort was well laid out and every room has an ocean view The beach was small, but well cleaned with easy access However, the bars were the slowest service we have ever experienced at a resort Every bar in the resort seemed to be in slow motion Average time to get a drink was 20 minutes It was ridiculous We all sat at a big open air bar, near the resort entrance, one afternoon because of rain We were playing cards and were the only people there There were 4 staff at the bar They did not once ask us if we wanted a drink We had to go to them and wait 20 minutes It was painful to watch ! The pool servers tried very hard to serve us, but they had to continuously wait for drinks to be made We also reported loose toilet seats in the bathroom by the pool bar the first day we arrived They were never fixed the whole week we were there The managers seemed to be absent from this location I would go to this resort again but, the bar service needs to be addressed
