Highly recommend for quiet adults only experience

Taylamo1010 on May 09, 2026

We stayed at Princess Senses The Mangrove for our honeymoon and had an amazing experience from start to finish. We booked the Platinum Junior Suite and were pleasantly surprised to learn it included butler service. We definitely underutilized it because we’re not used to being waited on, but it came in handy for several things — especially having coolers of beer brought down to the private beach. The staff also went above and beyond to help celebrate our honeymoon by decorating our room and leaving us a bottle of prosecco for our last night, which was such a thoughtful touch. Special shout out to Timoy and Letoya at the Platinum Bar for keeping us all kinds of hydrated late at night — they were fun, attentive, and made our evenings even better. The resort itself is beautiful, very clean, and security was noticeably strong throughout the property, which made us feel safe and gave the resort a very private, exclusive atmosphere. We also got incredibly lucky with the weather, which made the whole trip even more perfect. Overall, we had a fantastic honeymoon and would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and upscale getaway in Jamaica.

Everything that glitters isn’t gold

KNF2020 (New York City, New York) on May 08, 2026

We stayed at the Princess Senses Mangrove in Jamaica from May 1-4,2026 to celebrate my birthday and at first sight the hotel and the room were beautiful. Check in was easy and a bellhop escorted us to our room. The room looked just like the photos we were very pleased. The jacuzzi on the balcony looked just like the photos but when we went to use it rust from the knobs was floating in the water brown rust . The first night we ate at hammock the food was ok the portions were very small we ended up eating again at the buffet which was better. On Saturday we had breakfast at the buffet and we went to the beach which is man made half sand half pebbles but the set up with umbrellas and chairs and palm tree huts were a nice touch it wasn’t crowded at all also the waiters coming to serve drinks on the beach was a plus. Saturday afternoon the power went out and my husband got stuck in the elevator while I was on the beach. We went to the reef restaurant for lunch and it was delicious and the waitress was very nice Later that night we went to buffet for dinner and it was just good not great. Sunday we spent most of the day on the beach enjoying the sun and ate at the buffet for breakfast and the reef again for lunch. Later that evening the power went out again for over a hour which affected our dinner plans the power was off in the buffet people were using their cellphone lights to maneuver around and the food was cold and uncooked. The power continued to go off all night which left our rooms hot and uncomfortable which triggered my asthma it made sleeping uncomfortable and absolutely horrible this definitely not how we wanted to spend our last night. The next day when we went to check out I asked to speak to someone in charge about our experience and I was told no one was available and my information was taken down by receptionist and I was told someone would contact me and no one has. The property is beautiful to the naked eye but I learned everything that glitters isn’t gold.

Comfortable Platinum Stay with Some Inconsistencies

SimpleJo (Ottawa, Canada) on May 08, 2026

Platinum Swim Up Suite – Building 5 We stayed in a Platinum swim up suite in Building 5, which we found to be an excellent location. During our stay, we learned that Platinum rooms are also available in Building 1, but we personally would not want that. It is far too loud, being located at the end of the resort. Check in was very smooth, with Ricardo taking care of us upon arrival and throughout our stay. Special shout out to the Platinum Building staff: Tobian, Carl, and Trevoy, who were consistently pleasant and helpful. Rooms & Swim Up The room was very clean, as was the entire resort, including common areas. The bed and even the pillows were extremely comfortable. I usually ask about a pillow menu, but it wasn’t needed here. One of the best features of Building 5 is that you get shade all morning, which is perfect for enjoying a cool morning coffee outside, and you also get a nice sunset view. The balcony chairs were very comfortable. What we felt was missing in the room: • A service box / secret compartment for room service deliveries • A ceiling fan for extra air circulation and white noise • A step or stool in the shower The air conditioning does not go below 22°C, which may feel warm for some guests. Occasionally, there is a mangrove smell, which is understandable given the environment. The water in the swim up pool was quite warm (likely due to the time of year), but it was cleaned and maintained regularly, and water was added when levels became low. Note: If you are in Building 5, there is no pool server. Platinum Experience We were glad to be Platinum with a swim up, as Platinum guests otherwise only have access to one pool — the rooftop pool, which we imagine gets extremely hot. A real Platinum bonus is that butlers handle restaurant reservations, which is very convenient. Pros • You can walk from your room to the lobby without stepping outside (longer, but doable) • Plenty of security guards on site • The resort seemed to have enough lounge chairs for guests (possibly helped by lower occupancy) • You are not bothered by timeshare sales • No local vendors on the beach • Overall, the resort is very clean Cons • Lack of shaded chairs, especially on the beach • Entertainment starts late, even at the piano bar (nothing before 9:00 p.m.) • The pathway along the beach is poorly lit at night; motion sensors don’t always work and lights should be on at all times Carts • Very hit and miss, especially early in the morning for excursions • Apparently don’t operate when it rains • Occasionally malfunction • Could use a good cleaning Hydrotherapy Limited to one visit per room, per stay, which felt odd. It’s outdoors, so sunscreen is necessary. The experience includes a large pool with jet stations, a hot pool, a cold pool, and a sauna. Compared to other resorts, this hydrotherapy experience is very basic. Butler Service We had Dennis and Naissano, and overall they did a good job. Where things fell short, it felt more like resort level issues rather than a reflection of their efforts. Butlers were often seen delivering individual drinks on the beach, by the pool, and in the room. In our opinion, this should be handled by servers, allowing butlers to focus on actual butler duties. Very few servers were seen throughout the resort. We had requested a daily cheese platter at 3:00 p.m., as we do at other resorts. This only happened twice and apparently required management approval. Oddly, staff in the Platinum Building told us they could prepare one, but guests are not allowed to remove food from restaurants. We eventually had two cheese platters prepared in the front lobby, with supervisor approval — very inconsistent. One small detail worth mentioning is that we did not have the opportunity to say goodbye to our butlers on their last shift before our departure, which would have been a nice final touch to an otherwise good service experience. Restaurants & Bars Food was good overall, with no major complaints. A nice touch is that restaurants offer real printed menus, not QR codes. The dress code is relaxed, and no restaurant required long pants for men. At the Pearl restaurant, we were lucky to be served by Nickay more than once. She was consistently kind, attentive, and genuinely caring, truly living up to the restaurant’s name. As Platinum guests, we are entitled to Platinum wine, but finding Twin Oaks red wine outside the Platinum Building was inconsistent. We were happy to reconnect with Sherece, a server in the main lobby who had previously taken care of us in Montego Bay, and did again this time around. A huge shout out to Chef Johnoy Hall at the Platinum Club. One evening, I asked if there was butter chicken anywhere on the resort, well, the chef made it specially, and it was excellent. On our last night, he went above and beyond regular service and always credited his team rather than taking personal credit. Departure Prior to our departure, we were reassured several times by both our butlers and the Platinum Desk that check out would be handled smoothly. We were informed that the Platinum Building would be closed and that checkout would take place at the front desk, and we were also reassured that the overnight bungalow villa butler would take care of us. Although everything had been clearly communicated, we waited about 15 minutes past the scheduled pickup time before calling the front desk. It was a disappointing, as it was the last impression. Final Note Despite a few minor inconsistencies, we overall had a very pleasant stay. The resort has many strengths; cleanliness, comfort, and genuinely caring staff members who truly make a difference. With a bit more consistency and coordination, this resort has great potential. We would recommend it and would likely return, even though we also enjoy discovering new properties.

Enjoyable Experience - Value is Questionable

Wanderer14225361764 (Toronto, Canada) on May 07, 2026

I recently spent five days at the adults only side of the resort, so I can't speak for the family experience. I understand the resort recently re-opened after Hurricane Melissa. We didn't see any noticeable external damage to the report. I find the resort very hard to review. On one hand the experience was good, we had a good time. But from a value standpoint I dont believe it's worth full price and I don't think it's a 5* resort. Some positives: - Everyone is friendly - The suite was large with many great features like a two person shower, two person soaker tub, balcony jacuzzi - If you have mobility challenges the facility has ramps and elevators everywhere. They even have a device poolside if you need assistance in to the pool - Plenty of entertainment options from 11am to 11pm - Very good buffet and plenty of variety with the a la carte restaurants - Plenty of space on the beach, at the pools, in the restaurants and other public areas. You never felt crowded - Plenty of variety for where you want to spend time. There are cold tubs, hot tubs, party pools, chill pools, roof top pools etc. Some not so positives: - While everyone is friendly the service is probably not what you'd expect from what is supposed to be a 5* resort. For example one day they took all our towels and didn't replace them. We asked for replacement towels from the crew cleaning the rooms but didn't receive them until the next day. - Not even considering hurricane Melissa the resort is sort of in the "good from far but far from good" space when it comes to the infrastructure. I've attached photos from our room. This is consistent with the resort as a whole from what I could see and these areas should not have been impacted by the hurricane. Definitely not what I'd expect from a 5* resort. - While entertainment was offered, some of the offerings we would normally be interested in we had to skip. For example they have a piano bar that had talented musicians in nightly but the audio was so loud we couldn't enjoy it. - The resort is advertised as adults only but we found out only three of the a la carte restaurants are adults only. Our first night we were at the Asian fusion restaurant and ended up sitting next to a table of 12, with six young kids. I spoke with others who were also unaware of this. Overall I think this is a good resort for a couple looking to get away for a relaxing few days. I'd just suggest getting it on a discount because at full price I think there are options that will feel more like a 5* resort.

Our Best All-Inclusive Yet!

Rachael F on May 07, 2026

If you’re looking for an all-inclusive experience that truly stands out, Princess Senses The Mangrove is on another level. My husband, my sister-in-law, and I traveled here to celebrate our 50th birthdays, and it was one of the most memorable trips we’ve ever taken. We’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, but this one is by far the best. The people, the food, and the property completely surpassed our expectations. From the moment we arrived, Vanton in the main lobby set a warm and professional tone for our stay. Dining was consistently outstanding—Kanye at the Food Market and Lamont at El Delirio made every meal feel special. The Platinum experience was absolutely worth it. Savannah, our concierge, was attentive and made everything seamless. Our butlers, Rajuan and Glaister, went above and beyond, while Teanna and Trevoy provided exceptional service at the Platinum Restaurant. The spa was another highlight—huge thanks to Caulette, Cherry, and Brittney for the relaxing treatments. Jodadene provided excellent poolside service, and the entertainment and gym teams—Dalette, Shantal (Berry), Destiny, Daniel (Situation), and Daniel—made every day engaging. Every staff member we encountered contributed to an unforgettable trip. It is clear the team truly cares about the guest experience. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and fun getaway. We’re already planning our return trip for next year.
