Needs some upkeep
Ann Marie W (Atlanta) on Jan 11, 2025
We stayed in The Cove. The room was tired and worn. The refrigerator was falling out of the cabinet. We have been coming for 20 years. The food was lacking this trip. Carmines was awful. The Cove pool is annoying in that people reserve chairs and they stay empty all day. Yet , people waiting are out of luck.
You're not in St Barts

First off, the resort is nice. Grounds meticulously kept. Plenty of pools and beaches etc. The room was very nice also, reminded me of the Venetian in Vegas. The problem is that Atlantis seems to think it’s the Ritz Carlton but it’s not. Just because there is a Christian Louboutin in the lobby doesn’t give you the right to charge $100 for a simple breakfast. I travel extensively and have stayed at several 4-5 star hotels and resorts and this, my friends is not that. When I checked in my room was not ready so I was asked to explore and I would be called. My wife and I stepped into Sea Glass for a drink. 3 rum and diet cokes cost me $70. Now, I’ve spent this much before but there was either a view, live entertainment (or my waitress was topless) I got none of those things. This is just an example of the many ways in which the price point is just off. Simply put: you’re in the Bahamas, not Monaco, not St Bart’s and not Aspen.
Honeymoon at Atlantis is okay idea...

Honeymoon trip did not feel like a honeymoon celebration, just a normal vacation. We would have liked for it to feel a little more specific to celebrate the honeymoon. We enjoyed our trip a lot - it was not cheap and food/drinks are not included in the booking price.
Cove at Atlantis, yes - but no to NOBU!

Everything was great at the Cove - except avoid NOBU at all costs. Terrible food, terrible service, overpriced. Wooden chopsticks you have to snap in half like you get at take-out. Took almost an hour to get our table even though we had a reservation. Messed up our order as well. Tiny, overpriced portions when we finally got our food. We went back a second night to give it another chance. Sat at the bar and watched the bartender pour a very expensive lychee martini out of a giant jar he grabbed from below the counter. Pretty sure it was not quality vodka, couldn't really taste it at all. First world problems for sure, but it's not a cheap place and they could do better.
That special kind of aloof when they know exactly what you're asking but pretend not to.

First problem: needed to add our daughter; asked for adjoining rooms so we could feel comfortable with our kids being in the room next to us, and were told all we could do was make a request. Oh, or the other option-- change our reservations to a super expensive suite. Which we did, bringing us to... Second problem: under the circumstances of spending several thousand dollars more than originally planned, asked for the full promotional resort credit, which is based on which building you're staying in. Since we're effectively spending far more than we would in any other building, requested consideration and instead received an apology for the "confusion." In both cases, the hotel knew exactly what we were asking for and pretended they didn't, first so we would need to spend more, and then so they could excuse themselves for not considering our request. Am already envisioning a giant money-sucking machine for the next five nights.
