Atlantis_The COVE

Trip65288069942 on Feb 28, 2026

Location-Paradise Island is a bit isolated from Nassau. The island and premises are beautiful. Beaches are wonderful. Atmosphere-multi-themed catering to adults and families. Depends which hotel you're lodging in. Multiple pools, wonderful water activities. Rooms-COVE suites are wonderful, Lapis Lounge was well worth the addt'l cost Value-relatively expensive (food, snacks, drinks, etc...). Should consider online food shopping for daily staples (snacks, water, drinks, etc...) Cleanliness-above average. Room housekeeping exceptional, resort areas were always clean Noise Level-elevators in the COVE were noisey and noticeable at night. If you're a light sleeper, request a room away from the elevators Dining-expensive at the resort. FISH Restaurant was exceptional. Chantelle (GM) is awesome. For true Bahamian experiences off resort dining recommendations include: McKenzie's (conch salad was fantastic), Twin Brothers (Fish Fry areas) fried red snapper was great.

Regretting My Booking

NolaLove98 (Fort Worth, Texas) on Feb 27, 2026

We booked a few months out for an anniversary trip. We decided on this location because it gives us beach (private cabanas), casinos, and good dining options, but I’m already deeply regretting this decision, as I’ve been desperately trying to get our cabanas booked. I’ve emailed, I’ve called, I cannot get a single soul to respond to assist me in booking some extraordinarily high priced cabanas. If this is what I have to look forward to I may have to dispute my charge and go elsewhere. This isn’t the “impeccable service and unmatched luxury” that is advertised, this is misrepresentation.

We used points, booked last minute, and were treated like royalty

EVERYTHING at Altantis was EASY!! Not to mention the property, although a little dated, is gorgeous and easy to navigate. We were delayed due to the Feb 26 snow storm in NY and had points that qualified us for a room at Altantis, so took advantage of it to stay there after 5 friction-full days at Baha Mar. Even going to 1 room from the 2 that my family had there. Staff were kind, efficient, and made it seem effortless from easily getting a chair at the pool or beach (no reservations needed because staff actually cleaned up) to getting reservations or kids club & a babysitter to getting transport (no need to book 2 months in advance!). Casino was a bit crowded and louder than I like but still a fun time and drink service was easy.

Frustrating Guest Experience

Vinny M on Feb 26, 2026

I had several poor interactions with your staff during this trip that made it a negative experience and would deter us from returning to Atlantis. I was not expecting this level of customer service from a hotel with such a strong reputation. 1. Initial Check-In: When we checked in, Aaron at the front desk immediately tried to upsell us on a room upgrade. I informed him that our Black Friday reservation included a complimentary upgrade based on availability, and that I hold Titanium status with Marriott with over 89 nights per year in the network. His demeanor shifted — he dropped the pitch and told us there was no availability. We were placed on the 2nd floor in an undesirable room tucked behind trees (room 2830) 2. Extending Our Stay: Stranded due to the East Coast snowstorm, the front desk said they could not modify our reservation. Shaleah told us to book online — where the minimum was 2 nights. I brought my laptop to confirm the issue before booking and she said she could adjust it to 1 night and apply a trip interruption rate. Once booked, the story changed to how we needed to email quality to get the night refund and the trip interruption rate applied. Additionally,, we couldn't use the same room and were forced to check out at 11 AM and check back in at 4 PM. 3. Smoke in the New Room: Our new room reeked of cigarette or cigar smoke. Housekeeping confirmed the smell and promised a room change by 5 PM. We heard nothing. At 8 PM, the front desk said they could not move us — leaving our three young children (ages 5, 3, and 2) sleeping in a smoke-filled room overnight. This is a serious health concern that should not have been dismissed. I spent approximately $5,000 on the initial reservation, $4,000 in expenses throughout the week, and an additional $1,400 plus $750 for one night stay in a smoke-filled room — over $12,000 total for a deeply disappointing experience. It didn't feel like the staff was trying to help me. It felt like you were trying to nickel and dime me for everything. It also felt like there was no management in site and the staff was clueless. It resembled the infuriating car buying experience where they needed to phone someone to make any changes.
