Hidden resort fees
JTravellr (London, United Kingdom) on Apr 25, 2025
They had a hidden $34.42 "destination fee" which I was forced to pay on arrival. I would have stayed somewhere else, I don't like being tricked into extra fees. I booked via Travel Republic which didn't (and still doesn't) mention the hidden fees when booking. My confirmation email (after I booked a non-refundable stay) did mention that there would be sneak fees on arrival, this was hidden in the T&C's on page 4 of a 5 page pdf attached to the confirmation email. I complained to the front desk staff who told me I had no choice but to pay. Travel Republic also think that this is acceptable. Hotel was otherwise perfectly pleasant.
Just another normal hotel
Kev H (United States) on Apr 16, 2025
It was a normal stay, no welcome, people at the desk were pure transactional. Sure I travel alone but this is no way to make someone want to return for another stay unless you are just targeting business people who is also transactional. Room is comfortable but it is hard to get anyone on the line to request for anything.
Like family
Rowan J (Baltimore, Maryland) on Feb 23, 2025
The staff makes me feel like family, from Norman the bellman to Idris the doorman. I stay here for work but they make it a comfortable stay every time. I particularly enjoy the location and its proximity to work plus lots to do, eat and enjoy in Manhattan.
Bad stay and bad management
Ed J (Belmar, New Jersey) on Feb 06, 2025
Place stinks and management is non-responsive. I had an issue and was supposed to be compensated with points, at a minimum, for a terrible stay. Nothing. I was sent an email when I slammed them on a review they'll do better next time. What a joke. Go elsewhere, trust me.
Walking Distance to the Wall Street's Charging Bull and WTC

I hesitated where to stay in Financial District and I believe I made a good choice by selecting the Marriott Downtown Hotel. Lobby and the Conferences level were beautifully decorated. Live Music performed by talented pianist Dylan Wyka at the Bar let you invite any of your refined NYC residents to come over and have an enjoyably evening. I recommend the corner rooms in this building. I’ve decided to spend extra points and get an upgrade to the higher floor Suite @lanka.lifestyle can’t resist it so, I had an opportunity see glowing “night city lights” and woke up to the sunny morning 180 degrees panorama of the West Street. Coffee in the room was tasty, Seattle folks should be proud. Room was very clean. Bathroom had a large mirror and spacious walk-in shower with modern tile. Amenities were okay, nothing special, but I travel with my own cosmetics and body care so it did not really matter. I wish I had a bathrobe, perhaps, I should upgrade my upgrade next time; not sure if bathrobes were available in general, tho. Destination Fee of $50 included Food&Beverage Credit, Free Minibar items (to find a bottle of Gatorade was truly convenient) and even 2 tickets to a City Tour that is a great option for 2-3 days visitors. I was checked-in by Front Desk Agent “trainee” Mila, she was friendly and looked accurately and professionally; I hope, she works there full-time now and I wish her the best.
