Weekend Getaway

Kenya A on May 07, 2026

The visit to the Hyatt Regency- Times Square was wonderful. The location was prime. We were two blocks from the Broadway show that we came to see. We were able to walk to most places even the NYPL to see a wonderful exhibit. The hotel was very clean and luxurious. The service from front desk, restaurant wait staff, housekeeping to sales was excellent. Even though we were in the middle of Times Square our room was quiet and no noisy hallways.

Disappointing

Tony Z on May 04, 2026

Disappointing stay - front desk rude, no complimentary water given - changing $250 for my 2 sweet, good dogs ridiculous - fridge light wouldn’t turn off - over $200 to park for 2 nights - I know it’s NYC but very disappointing stay.

Clean and promising — but not quite there yet

Siegfried66 (Wilmington, North Carolina) on May 04, 2026

The hotel opened about ten months ago following a renovation, and the freshness still shows. The building is spotless — no musty smells, no grime, none of that reluctance to touch things that you sometimes get in older properties. The bed was genuinely comfortable, which goes a long way. That said, ten months in, some of the rough edges should probably have been ironed out by now. The hallways were cold. There was no coffee maker in the room; we were given a kettle instead, and were told that demand outstrips supply, so we were apparently lucky to get even that. The shower temperature was unreliable — I lathered my hair and had to rinse it out with cold water, which is not exactly the relaxing experience you're after. The room layout also felt a bit arbitrary, with furniture arranged in ways that didn't quite make sense. And there's no iron or ironing board — just a steamer, which is fine for casual wear but won't get you to the opera looking sharp. The most baffling part, though, is the $40 daily service charge. We never quite figured out what it was for. There was no concierge to speak of, no meaningful amenities, no real service presence — the kind of thing you'd expect to justify that kind of fee. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, which was appreciated, but we couldn't help wondering whether that had more to do with the tip we left than with any standard the hotel sets for itself. We likely won't be back. Cleanliness is a great start, but it's the one thing that tends to slip over time — and the basics like a morning coffee in your pyjamas shouldn't be a luxury, let alone a $40-a-day mystery. We'll look for somewhere that has those sorted.

Excellent experience

The hotel was gorgeous and the staff was beyond accommodating. From check in to various calls to the front desk, everyone was polite, kind, and responsive. This is the best NYC hotel experience we have had in years. We will be back for certain. 5 star service. Thank you Hyatt Times Square!
