Would We Stay Here Again?

No? The bed settee was not fit for purpose, stained and really old, worn out and uncomfortable. Our daughter had to sleep in our bed, which was a squeeze. The hotel offers no food other than muffins and crisps, not even sandwiches. Our room had a connecting door with the room next door. Sound insulation was zero, they might as well have been in our room. Not good if you want privacy from strangers. The hotel location was ok but we wished we had been more central. The hotel was a bit worn generally.

Great hotel for US Open Tennis!

Husband and I stayed at the Westgate for 4 nights. Room was spacious, clean, well appointed. Bed was very comfortable! Mini fridge in room. Staff were friendly and helpful. As expected, we paid $40/night resort fee at check in. About 10 minute walk from Grand Central. Upon checkout we stored our luggage at the front desk until we left for the airport later in the day. We will definitely stay here again!

Helpful staff

Cannot say enough good things about the staff in the Westgate. Stayed for 4 nights. Gave us a kettle for our room as soon as i asked , room spotless and classy. Every member of staff gave helpful advice and directions on how to use the subway (our first time) Perfect walking distance to attractions yet quiet enough to get good nights sleep. Well done the Westgate ! customer care spot on.

Doormen

We enjoyed our visit but doormen Jose and Freddie were the best. Most friendly doormen. Front desk and bar tenders were all very informative and helpful. The marketplace left a lot to be desired and the threshold into the room was rough, needs to be ramped some.

Unacceptably poor service

The sink stopper in my room was not working. I alerted hotel staff to this 3 times on 3 consecutive days before it finally got fixed. My son’s key card stopped working on his room the next to last day of our stay. He called on the house phone in the hallway for someone to come and help him. He waited for over half an hour without any help arriving, so I went down to check what was happening. The front desk claimed they had not been notified. I accompanied the facility manager back to my son’s room so that he could at least get into the room. We had to wait another couple hours for new key cards to be ready. This level of service is not acceptable, and I am not planning on using this hotel again.
