Grubby Liittle Hole

Very disappointed with this hotel. On arrival the room can only be described as grubby. There was a wooden encasement around the bed but inside the perimeter there was all sorts of rubbish like pens , plastic forks etc . There was a layer of dust on the pictures . The iron was faulty and the coffee machine was not working . We immediately complained and they cleaned the perimeter of the bed and replaced the iron but the coffee machine was out of use for the duration of the stay. The room itself was tiny and dark and I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Honest Review....

I stayed there for a few days on business. There are a lot of great reviews, so I wanted to set expectations. ... The pros: - convenient location to midtown -staff is very friendly and responsive The cons: -room very loud from what seems to be the heater -the bed was very soft/not particularly comfortable. It was actually a murphy bed that was pulled down, but not a good quality mattress. -there was hardly any lighting in the room other than in the bathroom; very dark -shower curtain was stained on the inside -faucet in tub was still going when you push the lever for the shower to work. I learned to jiggle it and that made most of the water stop coming out of the tub faucet. -when I arrived, the tissues were soaking wet, including the box. I called and they brought a new one right away
A Wonderful Welcome to NYC

What a beautiful hotel, filled with wonderful friendly staff. Everyone was so helpful and made us feel welcome. The room was spotless, and everything was in good working order. Great location, a little away from the noise of Times Square, but close enough to walk to the major attractions. A big thank you to Westgate for making our trip to NYC so great
Amazing stay at Westgate

I stayed at Westgate with my husband and 2 children for 5 nights in a Luxe King Suite. Check in was great and quick. We were met with a warm welcome and some bottles of water. We were on the 8th Floor. The room was very nice with a huge main bed and a pull out sofa bed for the kids. Both were really comfortable and the pillows were to die for!! Lots of storage in the room and the bathroom was lovely. The room had a fridge which was handy as we bought some drinks and snacks from CVS a few minutes walk from the hotel. The room was very quiet, we didn't hear any noise from either other guests or the street/traffic. We had an issue with the temperature in the room so called reception and they sent someone up within 5 minutes and it was fixed straight away. The location is great, not too busy and only 5 minute walk from subway and Grand Central Station. I would highly recommend this hotel and if I go to New York again I would definitely stay here!
Excellent stay!

Loved this hotel. Sure it’s not very glitzy or glamorous but it’s pleasantly decorated throughout, staff were always helpful and most of all the room was perfect for us. My 6 year old son and I were in NY for 5 nights. We had a Luxe 1 bedroom suite on the 19th floor. For the price I thought the space was excellent. Room had a separate sittingroom with a sofa bed which was ideal for my son and it meant I had my own room :-). Plenty of floor and cupboard space. Room was nicely decorated and was cleaned perfectly every day and towels refreshed. Bed was super comfortable. As we were up high the room was light and had decent views from all windows. Bathroom had a good size walk in shower and was modern. Location was also excellent. Was a little out of the way which I much preferred as quieter and calmer but easy to walk or get a subway to everywhere in NY. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and when next in NY will definitely stay again, this time in a room with a balcony. Thank you Westgate NY.
