the walking distance is reasonable

The first question I had when researching hotels near Disneyland: how far is the walk? A long exhausting day at the theme park is extremely rough on the feet and body, so if you're not going to drive, the walk has to be manageable. I timed it, and the Residence Inn is about a 12 minute walk (excluding the duration of the red light traffic signal at the crosswalk across Katella Avenue) from the park's security checkpoint metal detectors. Yes, there are several hotels on Harbor Blvd that are much closer than this one, but I doubt that any of them have comparable room sizes or a better complimentary breakfast. By the standards of complimentary hotel breakfast buffets this one was above average: it had more variety and quality than a typical complimentary breakfast. Our room was 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds. It was over 540 square feet. Bed was comfortably large and the bathroom was delightfully large. As for noise levels, our room was relatively quiet. My biggest complaint is about value. This place isn't cheap. We lucked out and found a good price, but it might have been a fluke. On the other hand, there are lots of hotels in Anaheim much dumpier than this one that are more expensive. This was a solid choice, and if you can get a room at a reasonable price, jump on it. It's a nice hotel.
Terrible family hotel, terrible service

Terrible Disney motel… yes motel. This is my first real negative review .This was unfortunately, the worst residence inn I’ve ever stayed at. The service was awful! It’s very obvious that they can care less about any kindness or hospitality. When I first booked, I made sure that mine and my sisters rooms would be close. We were both traveling with young children, and my mother was going to help watch my 3 month old baby and my sister‘s one year old during a trip to the parks. I called both the hotel and Marriott reservations on separate occasions prior to arrival to double check that they were linked reservations, which I was assured. They even gave me the linked reservation number. However, when we showed up the lady at the front refused to put our room next to each other or even on the same floor. She stated haughtily that “they don’t have to honor any room requests.” I asked to speak with the manager, since this was the main reason we had chosen this hotel. The night manager said he gave us an upgrade, which wasn’t an upgrade-Literally the exact room I’d already paid for the one bedroom suite. It was the exact room I already paid for and was still very far from my sisters. I’d pre booked through Marriott and paid in full non refundable. Also, the rooms are very hot and the AC is set to not go very low. So the bedroom is hot the living area ice cold. There are only a few tv channels and no Disney channel or nick for the kids. Also terrible internet we had to use our cell hotspot to finish son homework. AND you can’t see the fireworks from the room. There’s no fans available. There’s no bathtub. Really despite me asking them to help put the rooms together several times they were resistant to try to make it a nice stay. Honestly, save your money go somewhere else. I’ve stayed at the residence inn a little further down Katella and it is much nicer and fantastic customer service compared to this one. One more thing, I also had added a day To stay a total of three nights. The front desk told me I would have to check out -then recheck in later on.. They said they wouldn’t give me the same room (one bedroom suite) three nights in a row-then they told me that was my upgrade. I got to stay in the same room room for three nights. Pack your stuff up instead of going to the park for your third day to check back in at 4 o’clock. Great upgrade.
