“No view” = loading dock and garbage trucks
Almays1 (Curacao, Caribbean) on Jun 29, 2022
I am here for a conference, so I know every room is booked. The rooms are fine - just a clean standard hotel-type room with a comfy bed. The hallway carpet and wallpaper are showing wear. My biggest complaint is the “view.” Our room overlooks the loading dock and garbage dumpsters. Even worse, when loading garbage trucks, we could hear every loud crash and thump clearly (thankful no smell). I wonder if Walt would approve of the underbelly of the beast being on full display. Just beware if you book a “no view” that there is a view, but not one anybody would like to see. Staff is friendly, but this large conference overwhelmed food options here and others close by. If I return to this conference next year (or to WDW), I will not be staying here.

Just returned from a week long stay at the Dolphin Resort. It was the first time for us to stay on Disney property and didn’t know what to expect. Check in was simple. However, we arrived early in the morning and later in the day the counter was swamped. We were fortunate in that we were able to get into our room and get some rest before hitting the pool Our room was very basic. Nothing extraordinary, but clean and tidy. I guess for as much as we paid, I thought it would be a little more updated. The walk to our room was kind of dim and often times there was garbage that sat outside the doors on the floor. The air conditioning worked really well with the exception of one day and maintenance was there within minutes to fix the issue. We appreciated it because the heat index while we were there was up over 100 degees. The pool was nice. If you want shade, I suggest you get there before 10am. After that, most umbrellas are taken. There was no outside food or drink in the pool deck, the Cabana bar provided mobile ordering for lunch. They brought it right to your chair. As with all of Disney, be prepared to pay. Restaurants that we went to onsite were pricy. Our breakfast the first day was $70 (breakfast, bottle of water and fountain drink). I thought it was a bit much for a cafeteria style setting. In a nut shell, unless you want to leave the resort, you’re pretty much over a barrel. Also, keep track of what you charge to your room. A friend had charges for things that she didn’t not do. If you have a hard time walking distances, be aware when you check in. Our room was quite a distance from the pool area. Not to mention the set up was crazy (had to take elevators UP to lobby, walk through lobby to the west elevators then go down to the 1 level where the pool level was). You could of course walk around outside but it was upper 90’s all week and it’s not wise to walk that with a heart condition. I appreciated that the water taxi and bus was there to take you to several destinations. That was a great added perk. All in all we had a good time. We would consider staying here again.
