DOLPHIN RESORT - OUTDATED

cody (Boston,ma) on Dec 06, 2024

Well first off let me start off with a **NEWS ALERT ** Dolphin DOES NOT DROP YOU OFF AT MK,EPCOT,DISNEY SPRINGS,HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS entrances. MK drop off is at the transportation center where you get off and jump on the ferry or monorail. It DOES NOT drop you off at the entrance of MK. Nobody talks about this at the hotel. It's even worse when you leave the park unless your smart and jump on the boardwalk bus and take that back to the resort. Overall the hotel is so outdated the carpets in the hallways are gross looking and worn out. The bathrooms are small. The bathroom doors should be at the entrance of the bathroom with the sink not inside where the shower is no room to move around at all. And the thermostat that shutoff in the middle of the night but turned on in the morning BS. Then the kicker you pay 45 for a resort fee and I got a package delivered I had to go pick it up at the business center they charged me 5 dollars to get it. Are you kidding me Dolphin ! 17 dollar milkshakes at Fountain ! Pizza at the FUEL sucks ! Don't buy it at all ! 5.50 for 20oz soda. Come on people stop the highway robbery BS. The location though perfect for walk/boat to epcot and HS. But other than location I'd stay somewhere else next time for more money. You pay all that money and they drop you off at the spot where people park their cars. Ya I'm good Any questions please feel free to ask

Great Place to Stay when going to DisneyLand

AUSinMEX (Torreon, Mexico) on Nov 26, 2024

Stayed here to take the kids to Disney Land. The hotel lobby and convenience store downstairs were great. The rooms were clean, and it was great to be able to watch the fireworks from our room. It was very easy to get to all the resorts from the hotel. We spent a bit, but the kids had an awesome time. Staff were freindly and willing to help out when needed.

Fun easy

Nice towel mickey on the beds. Room was updated seemed like it was empty a while. Good bars, expensive, close to Epcot boardwalk, Hollywood studios. It’s the cheapest house on a very nice block. It’s not as easy to get to magic kingdom and animal kingdom.

Disappointing Management

KG0308 on Nov 26, 2024

While the location is very convenient, I would not stay here again. The room itself was just okay and the property itself is generally fine. However, the reason for my review is the terrible staff and management. First, I could not a hold of anyone actually on site to help me with my booking, which was necessary for booking the room type I wanted. I spent over 1.5 hours just to book my stay. Following that, we had issues with our check in. The stated check in time on the email I received was 4pm. Our room was not ready at 4:30pm, so I went to the front desk to check as we wanted to freshen up before dinner. The front desk manager, who was extremely rude, explained that they permit late check out until 4pm (for a fee), so that there was no guarantee as to when my room would be ready for check in, and in fact it could be several hours after the 4pm time indicated on my confirmation email due to the fact that they sell the 4pm late check out. When I asked whether I would be permitted a later check out due to the later check in, I was told no. The front desk senior manager, although very nice, was also not much help. Finally, we had an issue with the billing and could not get someone on the phone to resolve the issue. As of writing this review, it is still not resolved, days later. Overall, a very disappointing stay for a Marriott property and we will not be back.

Not so magical

G2111ZYnickl on Nov 21, 2024

I’d like to preface my review as someone who’s been visiting the Walt Disney Resort for many decades, am a Vacation Club member and Annual Passholder who visits biannually. The hotel itself is beautiful, is clean and conveniently located within walking or boating distance to Epcot and Hollywood studios. The hotel has many food options, recreation and shopping onsite. The reason for my low score at this property is a reflection of the staff, in particular the night hotel manager and daytime staff at the front desk and customer service. The room itself had a resort view big windows with a couch desk the normal things you would find in a deluxe hotel. Comfortable bed, and linens and plenty of pillow. However - bathroom, and vanity area are a joke. You have to physically climb over the toilet to get to the shower, the toilet and the door would make anyone claustrophobic. The vanity is tiny, and there’s no door, so getting ready you’re on full display for anyone in the room. The desk staff is not kind, at least who I encountered. The bell staff were fantastic. I have a son who is autistic and needed accommodation and experiences difficulty with elevators. Despite multiple attempts to address this issue—through phone calls, visits to the desk, and conversations with staff—I was assured it would be resolved. Mind you the same requests have been given at other Disney property hotels, numerous times with no issue. Unfortunately, the manager on the night shift responded dismissively, suggesting I “use an escalator.” I was left to wonder if it’s truly reasonable to expect me to hold my almost 50lb son while managing his stroller, which also functions as a wheelchair for his safety, on an escalator with a medical bag. This suggestion shows a lack of understanding and empathy, and I was deeply disturbed by the treatment we received. Even the bellman, who witnessed the situation, expressed sympathy, as it was clear how poorly we had been treated. My son cried and was frightened each time we used the elevator to visit his special place, Disney World. The location of our room on the 9th floor, felt as if it was deliberately placed far from the elevator, adding to our difficulty. I can’t help but wonder if this situation arose because we didn’t fit the traditional mold of a business traveler or family. I am truly hurt by how we were treated. I would not visit this hotel again or recomend it to anyone who needs an accommodation. Furthermore, if you have mobility issues Medical/ Handicap parking is very far from the lobby.
