Great location and amenities

Overall the resort is lovely and many amenities including 4 pools. The resort is clean and quiet and in the best location, central to everything. We were in building 17 it’s a little dated , especially the bathroom. Also the sheets do not fit the bed, every night we wake up with the fitted sheet coming off the bed and all tangled up, it’s super frustrating. Picture included of how small the sheets are on the mattress.
No towels at the pool, you have to use the same one. No extra towels for your room or they charge you $15!

The hotel is trying to save money and it shows. If you use the pool towels in the morning and say you want to swim again in the afternoon but your towels are still wet, you have to either (depending how far away your room is) make the trek to the front desk or wait an hour until housekeeping brings you dry towels. There are NO TOWELS at the pool area. IN addition, if you request new shower towels within 2 days of arrival you are CHARGED $15! Heaven forbid you spill something in the kitchen area, they will charge you to use their towels. They also don't provide any lifeguards at the pool. Considering the number of children and families that were there, god forbid anything happens. I called Marriott corporate who said these policies were the local hotels so I'm not giving up on Marriott but I don't think I will stay here again as they are trying to cheap out and it shows.....
Studio Unit at Shadow Ridge

The staff is very nice and the resort is beautiful. Disney is building a massive resort across the street and the sand really blows from there. Studio, corner room 1050 on the third floor was recently updated. They said it was a "larger "room, but the layout is odd to me. The full size refrigerator and bathroom door open onto the bed. There is a free washing machine/dryer in the building across the street. The sauna in the gym does not work because women put water on the "rocks" to make it a steam room which it is not! The gym is a hike up to the golf club and check in area which is again odd to me.
Lack of disclosure about services

The front desk did not advise us that the mail pool heater not working nor was the pool bar food not working so every limited menu. Wasted the first day at this pool. We decided to use the enclave pool and bar which are excellent. 5 stars to bartenders Guillamo and Alex who make everyone feel welcome.
Run Down Stay at Luxury Prices

I recently stayed here for the Coachella festival and the experience was horrible. The property is in bad shape and in need of an overhaul. We were first assigned a room with a strong mildew like odor which they sent a staff member up to spray febreeze, which did absolutely nothing. After insisting that they change my room, we were switched to a room that also had a strong pet urine odor. We literally kept the doors to this balcony open our entire stay to counteract the smell. The room was also filthy, we encountered dirty towels, a filthy stained shower, grim in corners and crummy floors. Also the kitchen was in disrepair. A dinged up refrigerator, poorly installed dishwasher, kitchen missing utensils and just overall a room that was overdue for a major renovation many years ago. I am so disappointed at the amount of money I spent on this villa. If I had another choice, I would have found somewhere else to stay, but that was nearly impossible given it was Coachella weekend. They knew these villas were not up to standard but still booked them out of greed. I’m disgusted. I will never stay with a Marriott brand again due to this experience.
