Reviews
Good hotel with excellent customer service

This is not my first stay. I liked it before and came back for a conference. The resort is beautiful. I do agree with some reviewers that the rooms need a refresh, but they are comfortable, spacious, and have a good bed so I am happy. What sets the resort apart are the grounds and the employees. The resort is beautiful with lots of choices for families to have fun. I want to call out the excellence of one person specifically. I arrived today and was exhausted after traveling for several hours. I accidentally dropped my wallet in the back of the cab. Rommel was working in the valet area and saw my wallet. He grabbed it for me. I had already headed to the bathroom. He followed me and stood patiently outside the bathroom to return my wallet which had all my credit cards and cash in it. He was so kind and helpful. I would have had a very hard time getting home without his quick action and help. Give this man a raise. I am disabled and ambulatory so I also like to address how disability friendly hotels are because some are awful. This is a very large resort with rooms spanning over dozens of acres. I was a little worried about the size of the resort because I am in a flare. The front desk put me close to the areas I would need to access and they drove me and my luggage to my room in a golf cart. They offered to drive me to the spaces I need to go during the week. I am in a regular room so I cannot comment on the accessibility of their rooms for people with disabilities. The only area for improvement I have identified is having very limited in room dining. After a long day I often do not have the energy to walk to a restaurant and the choices here are very limited even outside of in room dining. There is a nice coffee and snack shop. I was able to grab some snacks in case I could not powers through to find a place to eat. Overall, it is a beautiful resort with great customer service.
Overall great experience

Overall great experience. A little issue with the check-in as the "1 Bedroom Villa" on the hotel website is the bigger version (the smaller one is called 'smaller' on the website), whereas the "1 Bedroom Villa" in the Vistana booking engine is the smaller version (the bigger one is called 'premium' on Vistana's site). So we booked a small one a long time ago, but upon reviewing the property website ahead of our arrival, we matched our booking ("1 Bedroom Villa") to their website descriptions and mistakenly thought we had a bigger unit with amenities like an oven, etc. Given that we had a Thanksgiving dinner to prepare, the fact that we actually only had a kitchenette was a bit of a disaster; Brenda and Esmeralda saved the day and helped us find a solution. Beyond that, we found the grounds to be great and the pool area to be nice. The indefinitely closed slide is a disappointment. But we enjoyed our stay regardless. Special thanks to Jason, too, for helping out with the checkout process.
