Active Advisories
Following American Hotel & Lodging Association's (AHLA) recent announcement of its "Safe Stay Guest Checklist"—and following medical expert guidance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19—all Hyatt hotels in the U.S. and Canada will require face coverings within indoor public areas beginning Monday, July 27, for the foreseeable future.
Public areas may include hotel lobbies, meetings and events spaces, restaurants and bars, and fitness centers. Some guests may be exempt from this mandate, including but not limited to guests with medical conditions, guests consuming food or beverages in restaurants, and children under the age of 2.

Wonderful Grounds, lackluster room

I am very torn on how to rate this hotel. I enjoyed everything except the room but the problem is that's where one usually spends their time. We booked the pool view room in the retreat area. Apparently that section has connectivity issues so our phone did not work. We were supposed to have been given a number for texting but we were not. We didn't discover this until we'd been there a couple of days. Our friends in the unit next door did have a working phone but their TV worked only randomly. (We didn't try ours.) The HVAC was very annoying. They've supposedly installed high efficiency programming. You cannot get the fan to work on high. Low only. I sleep with a fan every night so this was annoying. Worse was you had to massively crank it to get the heat to even kick on. Say, set it for 5-6 degrees higher than normal. Then it would get too hot in the middle of the night so you'd have to get up and lower it back down. It was constantly too hot or too cold. Absurd for this level of hotel and the price point. There was also no overhead lighting so it felt dark. While there was a large window in the front it faced the footpath so you typically had the shade pulled. There is a window at the door in the back but it's shifted to one side so the daylight from that window doesn't do much. Overall it just felt like a dark & dingy room. Much of the furniture was worn. At no point did we want to spend time in the room. At the start of our stay we'd planned on adding an extra night but after 4 days we were very ready to leave as were our friends. The retreat section at the back is landscaped with desert landscaping but it lacked any sitting areas of the rest of the hotel. Which was disappointing. There was however a reason to stay and that is the everything outside of the room. The grounds are lovely. There are hammocks below the trees, chairs for lounging and fire pits. There are 3 pools so even on the busiest days you could find a quiet place. Or- head to the main pool for more fun. We'd expected to not have kids in the retreat section but that wasn't the case. The spa pool is adults only so you can get away from screaming kids if need be. I wasn't a huge fan of the spa facilities but that was likely a personal preference. I found the steam shower and hot tub to be overpowering but honestly it might work for some. I did not get a treatment. Staff was very attentive to any needs. I very much enjoyed lounging and relaxing in the peace and quiet of this hotel. I took a stroll with coffee in hand every morning and loved it. While others in our entourage really enjoyed the pool, pool bar and service. It's a great place to stay- if only the room was better.
Great stay

This was an absolute blast. Went for the second time to celebrate a special occasion and the staff made it even better. Could not be happier with the quality of the stay, the attentiveness of the staff, the food at the restaurant and the overall zen environment. Will be back again !
