Lots of fun for big group

We stayed here for two weeks with a big group of friends. Lots to do on the resort and off resort with outtings you can book from the front desk. Good food and shows every night. Shout-out to Skinny, Dora, and Speedy! Best entertainment staff!!

Senator Spa resort is 100% a 3.5-4 star resort - If you have this booked know that it is average. Most of the rooms that have no been updated yet which are not pictured on trip advisor are about 3/10. They smell very old like a basement, The bed was comfortable however the pillows stunk and never got cleaned. The shower is like very outdated and somewhat gross - needs a facelift. The food was 6.5/10 - no one did get sick on the vacation out of 30 people so I wouldn't be to worried about that aspect, the buffet was pretty much the same everyday and had all the classics. Dessert was great The restaurants included (Japanese/steakhouse and Italian) were great.. (If you could get in). We tried multiple times to get reservations however we only managed to get 2 as it was all "booked" up. Even though we would walk by the restaurant at 730PM and it would be half empty yet they said it was over booked.. This was apparently due to shortage of staff being able to handle a full restaurant.. My advice is soon as you check in make as many reservations as you need right away because if not you will be stuck with the buffet. Pool is a bit outdated the bottom of it was cracked and chipped - it didn't seem to be cleaned a lot. The beach was nice.. from the shore - First day a friend and I went into the ocean and stepped on a sea urchin which required a $500 doctor visit to remove about 6-7 from each foot. This was not ideal to start the vacation however the Doctor on the resort was nice and helped us right away. I highly recommend the resort putting up signs as we heard of many others stepping on them as well. The entertainment was decent, the shows they would put on were a little boring however the entertainment staff (Skinny) was great. He always got us involved in different games during the day etc. which helped meet new folks etc. Finally the last thing is the customer service.. This was 0/10 - From the Maids to bartenders to waitresses and front desk staff it wasn't great. when you'd approach any of them it was the "What Now?" attitude they didn't seem interested in helping with any issues or questions, everything seemed to be a chore to do for us. Overall this resort could do some of modifications to create a more comfortable atmosphere from the rooms to customer service, However for what you pay the food, drinks and different shops around the resort (Pizza, Coffee, Cigar lounge etc.) it still makes for a great memorable trip with friends/family. I would recommend this resort but getting a upgraded room!
