This resort is lovely, clean and the staff are really good. It’s a small resort with plenty of food options, especially given the size. I’ve enjoyed the food quality for the most part. A few things are just ok, but haven’t had anything bad. I’ve had entrees I’ve been very happy with and beautiful. I’m a fresh produce person and have been so excited with the delicious, beautiful and variety of options of vegetables. The one thing I dislike the most is how loud the pool is. The noise comes through your room windows pretty loudly, NOT relaxing. It feels like a club party at times. I wish they could tone it down some. Have you ever been in your car and heard some other cars blasting their music so loud that it’s coming through yours? It’s like that. To have the best chance at a minimal noise room, you don’t get a room with an ocean view, you get the side or street view of buildings. The other thing is it’s about 45 minutes from the airport without traffic delays. I think it might be the farthest point from the airport in this area. You have to take that into consideration when you want to venture out and go to other areas in Puerto Vallarta.

The rooms were clean, pool warm. The beach is small but loads of fun. The food is what you'd expect. Nothing special, but the Spanish and Italian restaurants were our go to. David and Oscar were our favorite servers. If you can sit where they are working you'll be very happy. Drinks were decent. Staff were all very nice. Omelet station is where it's at for breakfast. There are 2 stations so don't turn around if you see a long line, just walk to the other side.

The Marcello resort is a very well run organization. The staff is friendly and the selection of food is amazing. The cleanliness of the hotel is by far one of the best I’ve seen.

We came to the Barcelo to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and we could not have been more pleased with how everything turned out! There were 16 of us in total, and the dinner we were served overlooking the water at sunset was outstanding, the attention to detail was appreciated and the service was perfection. The housekeeping in the Barcelo is the best we have ever experienced in Mexico, our room was always cleaned spotless. A shout out to Oscar Martinez in the snack bar, his friendly service and banter was always fun. This hotel is clean, friendly and nestled in the prettiest area, away from the tourist area, but close enough to get there is you choose. All in all, we were very happy with everything.

Oscar Martinez was by far the best wait I have ever had, he made me feel welcomed and I never had to need for anything, he is personable and made my experience here the best.
