Grand Velas We just spent another fantastic week at the Grand Velas Nayarit. It’s probably our 6th visit in 10 years. It quickly became one of our family’s favorite places. What makes this place so special is not the beautiful resort nor the exquisite amenities. They are exceptional. What makes Grand Velas so special is the people. Fidel who runs Azul. He always makes sure that our family has everything we want or need. My father-in-law is in a wheelchair. The team at Azul always rush to make the necessary accommodations and make us feel special. That’s Ricardo (Woody) and Pablo and Francisco and Carlos. Jose Ramos has been our guy from Day 1. I met him poolside and he always made sure we were comfortable and hydrated. No surprise, Jose is the Captain of the pool deck, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Jose Ramos is a master of customer service. This year Jose introduced me to Jorge and Gabriel on the pool deck. They’re both new, but seem to immediately embrace the exceptional service model and will do whatever it takes to enhance your experience. Jorge jumped into action as a photographer for family photos plus exercised some medical skills, delivering some Red Sky beverages which was like “Mexican Medicine” for a slight hangover. These guys go above and beyond to provide customer service. Special shoutouts to Francisco and Edgar who also provided excellent service to our family poolside with food and drinks and umbrella movement. Kayaking was a highlight for our group and Carlos does a great job manning the sports activities stand. He was there to help my daughter and niece navigate the waves getting out and back in. We saw multiple turtles out there, but got skunked on whale and dolphin sightings. It was a great time nonetheless. I logged over 5 hours out there and find being on the ocean so relaxing and enjoyable. Mario and Cheppe are masters of the Concierge. They are quick to accommodate interests and needs. Special shout out to Maria for jumping into action on their team. The restaurants are always solid and enjoyable. Our favorite is Piaf. But truthfully, my group loves breakfast and the spread at Azul is unmatched. The crew that runs the omelette station are magicians who master not just the stove but memorize what people want. Beyond impressive. The spa is great. The gym is sufficient and ocean swimming is undefeated. We truly treasure Grand Velas and can’t wait to return.
The Best Resort Ever!

Our 3rd time there and we are still amazed by the overall experience at Grand Velas Nayarit. The kids never run out of things to do for fun or food to eat - lol. Luis Mateo has been our Concierge all 3 times and we have nothing but great things to say about him. He is very patient, attentive and goes above and beyond to make sure our experience is top notch the entire time we are there. He also seems to magically show up whenever you need him...it's a skill ??!. The pool team and the Concierges, Jorge and Armando were also very helpful and made sure we had the best spot at the pool and even take the time to chase away the Iguanas (those things are scary looking). All the restaurants staff was great as well as the food. Sen Lin is our spot, the food is on point! Go try it out if you haven't yet, you won't regret it. We can't wait to go back again.
