Nicest resort we’ve ever stayed at!

sla3188 (Ankeny, Iowa) on Jan 29, 2023

This was our 8th RCI time share exchange in Mexico over the years and clearly our best. We’ve stayed at the other two Velas properties in PV so we already were expecting an exceptional experience - and the Grand Velas did not disappoint! From reception to check out we were treated so well by the friendly and responsive staff. The grounds were ablaze with bougainvillea and other well manicured tropical vegetation. The three tier infinity pool looking out over the Pacific was never crowded. Getting loungers there or on the beach was easy. We especially loved the size of the resort- everything well placed so never a long walk! Plenty of daily activities if you wanted that. We enjoyed a guided bike tour and kayak tour, paddle board and ping pong. One bedroom suite on 7th floor was spacious and AC worked great. Room service quick and efficient. Food and service were a step up from other resorts. Breakfast and lunch at Azul ( or pool) always delicious and served quickly. Plenty of choices. Liquor selection was top shelf as well. Four restaurants open for dinner offered gourmet food and many choices of appetizers, entrees, wines and dessert. The staff were all so friendly and wished we’d remembered more names! Some of the standouts were our concierge Luis, at the pool were Jose, Raul and Alejandro. Julio greeted us with a smile each morning at Azul and Steven and Carlos at Activities desk kept us entertained. All in all a lovely week in a gorgeous setting with engaging staff. We shall return!!

A fabulous week!

862mariao (Vancouver, Canada) on Jan 28, 2023

Went back to the Grand Velas for the 2nd year in a row and it certainly did not disappoint! Beautiful location, weather, staff, service, food and drink. You truly get spoiled from the moment you arrive until it's time to leave. We were fortunate enough to have Luis as our conierge again and he was extremely helpful even prior to our arrival getting us great rooms and setting our our dinner reservations. He also organized our transfer back to the airport so we didn't need to leave the pool during the day to arrange it ourselves. The food at the Grand Velas is exceptional...everything from the breakfast at Azul, to lunch either at the pool or buffet and all the dinner restaurants. Raul, Emmanuel and Gabriel at the pool made sure our drinks were always full and brought us trays and trays of food. Ever, Steven and Tony were great at keeping us all entertained whether it was a volleyball, black jack, ping pong or one of the many other activities they provide. Special shout out to Carlos at the beach activities...he is such a sweet, kind soul and always made sure that there were boogie boards for our teens. Many thanks to all the other staff at the Grand Velas, you can truly tell that they enjoy working there and making our trip memorable and fabulous. Hoping to come back next winter for another incredible, luxurious week in paradise.

Wonderful experience at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit

johnmW8912YL (Holland, Ohio) on Jan 28, 2023

Stayed in an ocean front suite. First suite was 201 but view was blocked by the wedding gazebo/concrete structure. Moved to 303 and the view was fantastic and the 2 queen bed room and sizable lanai was perfect for us. Note that our category of room only goes up to the 3rd floor. A Presidential Suite was above us. Walls are perfectly insulated and we heard no one else above or on the sides. One negative is that parties are often right below us. Fortunately, they all stopped by 10:15pm. Service was excellent from Adrian and Jamie (concierges) to Carlos (breakfast), Veronica (breakfast cook), Francisco (Piaf French restaurant) and Carlos (water activities coordinator). Carlos took us out in kayaks and was great fun and full of knowledge. Later he encouraged us to play volleyball but we chose a beach walk instead. Certainly look for him as he is exceptionally friendly and speaks excellent English. Beautiful beach. Maid service including turn down in the evening was excellent. Few if any speak any English so brushing up on some Spanish words will greatly improve communications with them. We were here 9 nights and never ran out of things to do. Because of their rule that you can't pluck your stuff down on a lounge chair or cabana and walk away for hours, there was always available space in them throughout the day. After an hour of absence, your things head for the lost and found. I believe this is the first Grand Velas (built about 10 years ago). The Grand Velas in the Cabo area is newer and they made significant improvements to the layout of the rooms. If you have never been to the Cabo Grand Velas resort, this one will not disappoint.

Excellent Spot for a family fun Vacay!!

SamiKah26 (Los Angeles, California) on Jan 26, 2023

One of the best Vacays I've ever had. Great experience!!! Special Thanks to Chef Raul for taking care of all of our dietary needs and requirements!! He really made the trip extra special for us and we cannot thank him enough for his kindness, professionalism and excellent customer service. The rest of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Mario in Concierge. We plan on definitely going again!
