Great location, great service, would definitely come back to this resort. Our room on 2nd floor, we fortunately had 2 balconies (corner room) - was awesome view of ocean and pool area. Concierge staff were excellent, so was reception staff for exchanging $.
Beach and pool are nice

Other then that they do not understand the word hospitality
I think they have a lot of work to do understanding the business they are. It was like we were cash machines to them only. I would think twice about booking this property
Decent place. Don't expect to go to sleep early though.

So, I'll start with the good. The bed was very comfortable. The view from my room was phenomenal. The room was clean if a bit dusty. Staff is friendly. Pool was slightly dirty but nice overall. Good availability of lounge chairs around the pool and at the beach, in spite of an earlier review that stated loungers could not be found. I always managed to find an empty one. Location is great, easy to walk to other restaurants, shopping.
Now, the bad. Loud music late at night!!!! Do not expect to go to sleep before 1130 pm. Odd for a resort that advertises/caters to families. Food was just okay. The Mexican buffet was good but not available every night. The other buffet was okay, not great. An Italian restaurant with a very strict dress code. Overall not a great food selection. Plenty of alcoholic drinks to be had but the cocktails did not taste good.
All in all, I had a fantastic time on my trip, but I did not stay within the confines of the resort. I didn't pay much and I got what I paid for. If I return to P.V, I will likely stay somewhere else.
Was not up to my expectations-and high pressure selling

We are UVC members and this was our first vacation being part of the club. The resort was run-down and we had leaking faucets. Our friends' door did not close completely. When we arrived, we were welcomed and given drinks and then immediately were told we had to go to a 'membership benefits meeting' at the Dreams location down the street that would last about an hour starting at 9am the next morning. We didn't know what that was all about and kept saying that we do not want to do this and that we wanted to just relax on our vacation. We said we already know our benefits. But it was pressed over and over that we had to do this - it was not optional. So finally we just said, sure - we will be there at 9am so we could get to our rooms and start enjoying the day. I later texted the UVC rep that we wouldn't make it. The next morning we were walking to breakfast and she started running and calling after us that we need to reschedule this benefits meeting. We told her again, we were not interested but she was relentless to the point where I had to be rude and tell her to stop asking me and that I was getting very angry about it. Finally she ended up telling us that it is her job to send UVC members to be pitched to upgrade their membership. Very poor taste to take away vacation time to try to sell us more than what we are already paying.
The staff were over all nice but slow to bring water/coffee/drinks in the buffet area. The location was safe to venture off the resort - it's a lovely city and we enjoyed that very much. All-in-all, it did not come close to meeting our expectations as a UVC member resort. But our experience in Puerto Vallarta city was enough to make it worth the trip. We were told that Hyatt just purchased the property so I'm hoping that they gut the place and create a more Hyatt-like high level resort experience for future travelers. I certainly would not recommend spending your money there right now.
only go here if you are looking for a spring break atmosphere

dont visit this property unless you want a spring break experience. the lines, sugary drinks and truck stop buffet type of food and greasy spoon service remind me what I never want to remember about college spring break. Given the World of Hyatt partnership, I figured there was some vetting on the property. that turned out to be a false assumption. terrible experience, doors have huge gaps and you can hear everything from outside. lines are terrible and service was awful.
