Review of Royalton Bavaro Punta Cana Overall, Royalton Bavaro Punta Cana offers an enjoyable experience for families and couples, with standout amenities and friendly staff. However, visitors should be prepared for some service-related challenges and plan accordingly. I’m enclosing contact information for Carlos, a reliable and friendly cab driver who enhanced our trip by helping with laundry and local tours. Positives • Convenient location: Only about 30 minutes from the airport. • Spacious rooms: Comfortable accommodations. • Friendly staff: Always welcoming and helpful. • Outstanding pools: Fabulous pools, including a lazy river, kiddie pool, and the option to book a poolside cabana for added relaxation. • Multiple bars: Conveniently scattered throughout the resort, with seating generally available. • Buffet convenience: Open for all meals, with quick service and standard options. • Kid-friendly: Evening and night shows cater to children, and there’s a vibrant evening ambiance for adults. • Reliable housekeeping: Rooms are cleaned daily. • Shopping and souvenirs: Coffee, chocolate, cocoa powder, local handicrafts, and larimar jewelry are excellent keepsakes. Negatives • Check-in process: Long and frustrating. Promised connected rooms were not delivered, and Diamond Club upgrades were unavailable despite being offered. • Service delays: Room service is slow, and app-based service requests are restricted to 9 AM–6 PM. • Jacuzzi issues: Ours was not functional and was never fixed despite repeated complaints. • Food options: Limited off-hours food availability, repetitive buffet menus, and limited vegetarian-friendly options. Bakery offerings are below par. • Reservations difficulty: Without Diamond Club, restaurant bookings are hard to secure. • Overpriced resort services: Laundry and souvenirs are expensive. • Luggage pick-up issues: Despite multiple calls, luggage was not picked up during check-out. Tips for Visitors 1. Carry singles: Bring around $200 in singles for tipping during a week-long stay. 2. Book early: Make reservations for restaurants and pool cabanas as early as possible. 3. Avoid the Prime Travelers Club presentation: The sales pitch is intense, and the vacation club is not worth the cost. 4. Be patient: Expect a standard delay of 15–30 minutes for most services (“island time”). 5. Bring a clothesline: Useful for drying clothes on the veranda. 6. Shop outside the resort: For better prices on souvenirs and essentials. 7. Vegetarian visitors: Expect basic options like salads, lentils, and rice at the buffet. 8. Royalton Bavaro - Great for a Family Vacation

We had a wonderful three generation vacation in the glorious sun and surf - and delicious salads - at the magnificent Royalton Bavaro! (The beach is the best I've ever experienced.) If you are vacationing with children, this resort is perfect, with lots of guided activities, restaurants, and places to play. (The lazy river is a must!). Sometimes, the music was too loud, and the buidings and rooms could use better maintenance, but the housekeeper kept our room clean and sand free (no small accomplishment). I could also suggest a smoother check-in process. Food overall was delicious, just short on vegetarian choices. And here's suggestion: go Diamond Club, it's worth the extra $, and if you're lucky, (or maybe you can just ask), you'll have Adonis and Steven Jay as your "butlers" - they were the real stars of our stay!
