Romantic and relaxing

Barb K on Feb 23, 2024

Generous sized rooms, comfy beds We had low expectations based on the reviews we read, but we had a really good experience. The resort has lush tropical plants, the reception area is surrounded by glass. Restaurant staff were lovely, so helpful, offering drinks while we were relaxing around the pool, attentive in refilling cups, glasses, removing used dinnerware etc. Some days dinner was buffet style, other days A La Carte, we found the A La Carte meals to be of higher quality It’s not a party place, more like a romantic, resort for couples Resort is right on the Caribbean, but there is no beach, just rocks. Public beach is a 15 minute bike ride away Great place for a quiet, relaxing holiday

Shocking !

Most staff was amazing . I understand everyone has the odd days so that is nothing . But my husband and I spent a lot of money and Wanted a holiday to remember. The jacuzzi on our room Was Filthy. The fridge never got topped up. Well it got topped up once during the whole 9 days staying here . We left tips Incase that helped and nothing . U should not have tip for a basic thing that u have paid a lot of money for . It 11.45 and room service says till 1am. Rang and they said no English . I went down to reception and she said it closed and they need to take the signs down in the room. Yet not only does it state 1am On the sign in the room but also on the menu online. So personally I feel like she was lying . God knows if it was her I spoke to on the phone when I rang reception . Because a few night before we ordered 10.40 and food came . Yet she said it foamed 10.30pm . The cost to stay here and the service is shocking . I won’t return and I will not recommend. This place at all ! food in the all inclusive is also extremely Bland , beige and basic. Which normally I wouldn’t complain at . However she the service my husband and I have received is this shocking . The small Details count and I would like to save anyone thinking of booking here to save there money and book elsewhere . I never complain and this is first ever review of anything . I believe in making your own decisions and not taking other people reviews into account because we all have different expectations. I’m an extremely laid person but this is freaking unexpectable!

Very good service from reception, house keeping and restaurant staff. Food was ok, started with menu service then last several days was buffet for everything. Hotel room clean, very spacious, some updating done, partial ocean view, drapes and windows could use a cleaning though. Location on the water, great views, but no beach, pool nice but not heated, hot tubs, but not heated either. Suggestion would be to offer shuttle service to beach, since they don’t have a beach if their own.

Stay far, far away from this abysmal excuse for a hotel! It's a disgrace to the hospitality industry. The reception staff are utterly incompetent and couldn't care less about providing decent customer service. Don't expect any smiles unless you're slipping them cash. The pool bar might as well be a ghost town during the day, with staff more interested in gossiping than actually serving guests. And good luck getting your food in a timely manner—it's like waiting for a tortoise to finish a marathon. Oh, and don't bother ordering the same drink twice because consistency is a foreign concept here. As for cleanliness, forget about it. The place is a breeding ground for filth. The rooms reek of stale bedding, and even after begging for a new room, it's just more of the same. The jacuzzi is a joke—it takes an eternity to fill up, and when it finally does, it's more flatulence than fizz. And let's talk about the restaurant. My poor wife ended up with food poisoning, and instead of showing an ounce of concern, reception shrugged it off like it was our problem. Their lack of empathy is truly staggering. Excursions? More like exercises in wasting time. Hours spent cooped up on a bus, only to be granted a measly hour of actual activity. Save yourself the headache and organize your own adventures. Oh, and did I mention the staff's penchant for endangering guests? From smoking weed to nearly capsizing boats during snorkeling trips, they couldn't care less about your safety. This hotel is an absolute nightmare. Do yourself a favor and steer clear unless you enjoy being treated like garbage.

Picturesque setting…

This hotel has the potential to be great. The front of house, pool & restaurant servers were lovely, unlike the food! I’m only grateful that we didn’t go fully inclusive as I think I might have complained bitterly. The one night we just fancied chilling at the hotel, it was a ‘Mexican Buffet’ at US$80 per head. The starter was guacamole and there was some salad leaves, tomato & onion and tortilla chips. The main course was steak or salmon that took a 10 minute wait in a queue. The salmon was cooked on the same grill as the meat (not good) and the steak was like trying to eat a flip flop. The ‘crushed potatoes’ ran out so it was baked potatoes and tasteless vegetables. Dessert was 2 different types (pink or brown) of the same stodgy little cake. We did get 2 free drinks in the price but I can only assume that was to dull the taste buds. The pool area is really pretty with a swim up bar, but my heart sank whenever the ‘DJ’ appeared following our 2nd day subjected to full blast explicit rap… read the room! If you don’t have a load of teens around the pool, chances are some more laid back summer chill music would have gone down better. There’s no beach, be warned. Our room was spacious and comfortable and once we had asked to move, had the balcony and jacuzzi we booked. The shower was sporadically hot with enough pressure, but we could live with that. I received a lovely gift of cake and bubbly on my birthday, which was very thoughtful, as was the cake made out of towels by the room team! There was a sweet sense of community between guests and staff. I really liked the place, but it was really let down by the food! Also be warned, the hotel is a little out of the way, taxis are super expensive and need to be negotiated before leaving or you will definitely be ripped off!
