Wonderful All-Inclusive

Our family of 7 (5 adults and 2 children) all had a wonderful time! The resort was very good - clean, comfortable rooms (although the double beds are small) with efficient, quiet air conditioning, well stocked and nice views. Three of our family group were in a different building and on the ground floor our first night, but we asked to be moved, and starting our second night we were all on the top floor of the same building. We didn’t hear our neighbours or any late-night revelry - a relief from our last all-inclusive stay! In addition, we heard the resort hired a large number of local people to clean up after the hurricane and we were amazed that by the 2nd or 3rd day there remained hardly any evidence of the considerable destruction. The buffets and beachside grill food was very good - fresh and lots of choices - and we especially enjoyed eating lunch at thd beachside grills because of the beautiful views and airy interiors. We were able to book 4 a la carte restaurants (Trattoria, Mexico Lindo, Tokyo and La Fuente) where we were all seated together, 3 of which were memorable experiences, and all with excellent service. The overall service everywhere was really good, and in addition to a large tip for our tables at the a la cartes, we all tipped regularly at the bars and our shared buffet tables. We attended a show every night and they were really fun - everyone involved gave it their all! Although start times were a bit late at 9:30pm, our grandkids really enjoyed them as well and they were generally kid-appropriate. A highlight of the resort was the absolutely gorgeous beach - clear water, gentle waves and plentiful sea life - we saw lots of fish, including a couple of manta rays and a barracuda, as well as quite a few sea turtles (bring snorkeling gear if you have it because the rental equipment have plastic face masks which fog up constantly). The resort grounds and multiple pools were beautiful, very well maintained and clean, as were the public restrooms. We would not hesitate to recommend this resort to adults (they have a very modern new adults-only section) and families with kids. There is so much to see and do onsite which makes for a very relaxing stay, especially for a large group! A final note: We booked this resort in February and I tracked the Tripadvisor reviews up until we went. I noticed quite a few reviews complaining about the service. We never had bad service anywhere - in fact, I would say the service was outstanding, especially considering the large number of people being served! My advice is to be friendly and patient, tip where appropriate, and (especially) don't be demanding - I'm sure you will get the same great service we received.
