Great Time! Hotel Review and tips

chachisig (dfw) on Jul 03, 2022

My family stayed for 5 nights at Dreams Jade. Here is the breakdown: Arriving in Cancun: On the plane when we landed they made an announcement that masks were required in the airport. If you don't have your own, they had some when deplaning. Even though they said that and announcements over the intercom in the airport, no one really had them on on customs line, so wasn't heavily enforced. NOTE: DO HAVE A MASK WHEN COMING BACK INTO AIPORT FOR DEPARTURE. They had security and made you go BUY a mask before letting you in. After we were back in the terminal, no one enforced it despite intercom announcements. Have a transportation ready through transfers or however you plan on getting to the hotel. Otherwise, you'll be hit up all over the place. About a 35 minute drive to the hotel from airport. The Hotel: Check in was quick. We got their in the morning and our room wasn't ready yet. I recommend having a bathing suit in a backpack or something to change into so you can start relaxing poolside even before getting into your room. There are 4 of us in our family. Our two kids are 18 and 15. So we got a family room package which basically was 2 rooms connected by an inside door. Each room had beds and then a little sitting area, balcony, and restrooms. Room was nice and comfortable. If we needed something, we either asked for it through the AMR app (Required to download once you are there) or called the concierge. They were quick to respond. I would get some alerts through the app saying masks were required inside, but the majority of guests did not wear masks. The staff all do. Just letting you know so when you get that alert, you don't panic. Pools We did not do the preferred club because one of my kids is under 18, but it was still totally fine. The pool is large enough. There is a swim up bar. TIP: If it's a little crowded at the swim up bar, get out and go around to the back where there is a ground level side and you can get your drinks super fast and hop right back in. There are also servers coming around where you may be sitting. TIP: GET OUT THERE EARLY. SPots go fast, so you need to claim quick. We'd get out there at 6am or so and claim our spot and then go back to the room for a little more snooze time. The Restaurants: A tip is to be sure to check which days each restaurant is closed so you don't plan to go there one night and it's not open. We ate at the Italian, French, and Chinese restaurants. We actually did the Chinese one twice because we did the hibachi which is the only one that requires a reservation and you'll need to do that probably a couple days in advance. It only allows you to do it a couple days. We came in on Saturday and they are closed Sunday and Monday was already booked. It wouldn't let me try to make a reservation for Tuesday, until Sunday. Hope that makes sense. Remember this is all inclusive, so order an app, salad, soup, main course, and dessert! Italian: Excellent food. I had the shrimp risotto. Very good meal. French: We chose to eat here twice. It was our favorite. The scallops for an appetizer was fantastic. The fillet was excellent. Chinese: The hibachi was great. The chef was awesome and so fun. Another night we ate here, but not in the hibachi and it was soooooo good. The sushi is incredible. It was a close one between this place and the French one. For mornings, we ate at the buffet. The omelet bar was good. Everything else was fine. The servers were great! They have the "Barefoot Grill" by the pool. The burgers were really really good. They also had hot dogs and nachos and fries. What made our stay so great was the entertainment crew. These people were amazing and so fun. From the Casino Night, to the fire show, to beach volleyball, to the pool games, this crew was always on point. Shoutout to Christian, Andrea, Saul, Angel, Emilio, and all the others that I can't, unfortunately, remember. They knew every one of my family's name and really added that special touch. We did the spa and it was amazing as well. If you can do it, do it. So relaxing. Overall, it was a fantastic vacation. You do not need to tip, but tipping always goes a long way and you may get some more attention. It was a great trip and I totally recommend it!

Our trip to Dreams Jade was absolutely phenomenal. The hotel is immaculate and the staff are very friendly. Hats off to Christian and Saul from the entertainment team for going above and beyond to keep us entertained all week long. Eduardo at the sports bar was one of the best bartenders we've had and he was very attentive.

My kids loved it

Monste and Ana were great with both of my kids! It was especially nice that they could come for the activities they wanted, didn’t have to stay for the ones they didn’t, and were able to come back later. Also amazing that it’s FREE!!

Spice restaurant was my family’s favorite restaurant of all of this resort. Eduardo specifically was quite possibly the best waiter I have ever had and could not appreciate him more. Miguel was fantastic as well doing the tapanyaki. Top notch would recommended to anybody.
