Chef Miguel is Amazing !

Niccolo S (Union, New Jersey) on Jul 06, 2024

Miguel was very attentive and interactive. We loved Miguels humor and personality. Such a fun time and the food tasted amazing! We appreciated his service and his time. We would definitely suggest asking for him when reserving the teppenyaki experience here at the dreams jade hotel! A memorable experience :)

Great Vacayion at Dreams Jade

dkerntx1 (Weatherford, Texas) on Jul 06, 2024

Lived our stay. Room was large and offered excellent amenities. Clean and service was available everyday. Turn down service was done even though I did not expect or need it but was a very nice touch. Very nice and clean beach area and adult only pool, bar and grill. I would definitely return.

A great family spot

Mason M on Jul 06, 2024

The resort was amazing. Great food, amazing staff, clean comfy rooms. We loved Miguel at the hibachi restaurant. All the staff was so out of their way kind. We have been to other places where the buffet is subpar, but even their buffet is delicious!

Mild disappointment for Mexico

Moonrunner1313 (Toronto, Canada) on Jul 06, 2024

TL;DR summary: There are better options in the price range, in the region. While we generally love vacationing in Mexico, this venue doesn't make the cut. Great drinks, great pool-side service, decent suites, so-so beach, sub-par food, terrible timeshare sales tactics. If you want to eat at an alacarte, Italian was the only relatively decent place. Reviewing as Preferred guests. The good: -Bar, pool and serving staff. Extra-special mentions go to Silvia (Preferred lounge) and Eider (pool server). They not only worked hard to help us enjoy our stay, but they also had such great personalities; we'd love to extend our hospitality to them next time we throw a BBQ party! We also received great service from Maria (Preferred), Ivan (pool server), Ross (pool staff), Sergio (pool food stand) and Jose (waiter/buffet attendant). I wanted to note that the pool bar staff went out of their way to help me out on one occasion, I just had to run before I could note down their name tags. The beach lifeguard was also very helpful (sadly, didn't get her name either). Same goes for the security staff. -Housekeeper Jeremias did a great job and we appreciated the rose he left for us! -The drinks were excellent -Preferred lounge had great drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and amazing service -24h cafe -Easy to get around -Jeremias was an excellent housekeeper in Building 9 The 'meh': -While the suites were nice (especially loved the polished stone, extra toiletries and Grohe fixtures), the mattresses were TOO firm (and I generally prefer firm), only 3 pillows per bed, one room had chunks of ceiling fall down after an average summer shower and the other had a slow drain. If you close the balcony doors while you're outside, it's difficult to open them -Once we moved out of Building 9 due to the ceiling crashing down, we were glad we brought disinfectant wipes when we had to move into another building due to inconsistencies in cleaning practices. -The Italian a la carte was the best of a sorry bunch, hence the 'meh' section. The only restaurant that cooked things to temp and had a decent menu, other than not so great desserts. They were able to cook the ribeye to proper temps (MR for me, MW for my better half), but her ribeye was a tough cut (mine was excellent). The bad: -The Preferred beach is a mixed bag. Down south, it has a bunch of rocks, so you need water shoes. Things get sandy as you head north, but that's where they also have the SeaDoo rentals, ridden by tourists of dubious skill and sobriety. Good job at seaweed cleanup, though -There was a boat marina on the north side of the resort, so there was a bit of noise and diesel fumes -Limited food selection at the buffet. We pretty much ate pizza, tacos, the occasional soup and some cold cuts every time. We found buffets in Cuba to be cleaner and have better food selection and variety. -Dessert selection was brutal, resort-wide. Usually stale pastries and not very enticing. The only exceptions were chocolate strawberries and some cookie crumble balls at the Preferred lounge, that we spotted once or twice The ugly: -Food safety! We started experiencing GI issues from Day 2 (boosted for Dukoral). Switching to buffet food didn't change the outcome for us. I think this is a resort-wide food safety training issue -The alacartes were disappointing. We kept getting sick and also they could never get their food to correct temp. French served my 'Medium-rare' filet as jerky the first time and blue the second time. They also served us raw in the middle scallops. Cin-Cin was so terrible (I still remember the overcooked, bitter, seafood soup) that we got up mid-meal and ended up getting room service -Persistent and annoying sales pitch for timeshares. Remember: Just say 'No', unless you enjoy that sort of thing.......
