Be warned: Vacation Store Miami disguises themselves as the actual resort website!!!! Instead, use Princess Hotels as keywords to avoid booking through the agency like I did. We had some minor problems with our transfers, so I would recommend checking out the Cancún airports recommended transfer companies.
Platinum side was very nice and staff was friendly! Food was overall ok but the reservation process (only needed for some) was a nightmare. La bruschetta was the best in my opinion, Tao was not very good and la Vaqeria was pretty good for steak! Bufffets had nice selection as well. Our room was very nice and we didn’t have any issues aside from one of our rooms being upgraded but not the other, but the office staff agreed to upgrade our whole party after we realized we’d be very far from each other. Drinks were awesome and bartenders were really great about making recommendations! The Covid test process was not as easy or well advertised as it should have been, we had to contact the consierge twice to get it straightened out and paid more than the $35 it was explained to us as. Brian the consierge was awesome and very helpful with Covid test issue and transfer issue. Overall we had a great time and if you’ve never been to another country, are in your 20s, and are looking for affordable trip this place is great! However, if you’re looking for luxury or are a more seasoned traveler I’d choose something else.

Stayed here for 4 days with friends and my husband. We are from NYC so our standards are pretty high so was
disappointed: warm swimming pools, do not stay at jr suite as everything is far from it (lobby, dining, entertainment, etc), food is below the standard, beach is not clean, massage at the spa was not good, our balcony door was broken and our friends got a wrong room so needed to switch upon arrival. Overall, the small details of all-inclusive perks are not up to par. If you are looking for a low-key short trip then this may be for you but if you are looking for great food, quality amenities upto ny level then this isn’t for you.
Great Place to Stay for couples

I contacted the hotel several times before my arrival because I was planning an special evening with my girlfriend in order to propose marriage to her. The concierge staff Marcela and Bany were super helpful and attentive, they even helped me to distract my girlfriend until the photographer I hired (also recommended by them) finished her set up for the big moment.
Me and my girlfriend loved our room with pool access, it gives you a sense of a private pool but also the opportunity to spend time with other guests if you choose to. The room was clean and the staff made sure to leave it in great conditions everyday, the only thing I did not like were the beers on the mini bar, the hotel could offer something better.
The staff at the reception and lobby were super helpful, every time we needed their help they stopped whatever they were doing in order to assist us, specially Israel, he was great and he even gave us some recommendations on the best times to make reservations for dinner or the best shows to watch during our stay.
The buffet restaurant Yucatan was OK, a mix of Mexican and United States food with fresh ingredients all the time but at least for me it lacked a bit of flavor. The a la carte restaurants were much better, specially the Asian (Tao) since the food is great and you also get a show while enjoying dinner. Jesús was in charge of the reservations during our stay and he also was super helpful, we scheduled dinner everyday around 9 or 9:30 pm and each day he went to find us at a bar or even at our room to let us know our table was ready.
About the drinks in the bar, they are good, of course every bar tender has their own way of doing things but we enjoyed every drink prepared by them. My recommendation would be to ask which brands are available for you and then choose whatever you want to drink. Some drinks like Don Julio tequila are not on plain sight but are available if you ask for them.
As I mentioned before I asked for a special dinner for me and my girlfriend and all the staff were amazingly involved and helpful in every way imaginable, they helped me in everything: Preparing a secret outfits for my girlfriend, sending them to the dry-clean and precisely delivering them to me in secret so that my girlfriend would not notice, keeping the ring safe in the hotel private safe, setting up our dinner in a great place over the Skylights restaurant, preparing a selection of music for the dinner and of course sending Adrian as our private waiter all the evening. He was great to us and gave us an incredible service for hours.
Finally the thing that we did not enjoy was the beach of the Hotel, it is invaded by Seaweed which makes it impossible to swim in the sea or even stay there to have a drink since the smell is really bad. Fortunately on a previous holiday I stayed on the mother Hotel the Grand Riviera and I remembered their beach was bigger, so we walked to the Riviera beach and it was much better and much cleaner and since we had bracelets from the Yucatan we had access to all amenities on the Riviera. I think the hotel could do an effort to keep the Yucatan beach at least at the same level of the Riviera.

Unequivocally this is not a 5 star hotel. If you are used to 3 and 4 star hotels this will be great. If you are used to 5 star hotels go to the Paradisus instead.
Let's start with the good...
1 - the staff really do try to be as helpful as they can. The chef at the breakfast buffet explicitly went and found churros for us in the morning several times when they were not on the buffet. Another chef found pineapple for our tacos and grilled it for us at lunch when there was none available.
2 - the bartenders pour strong drinks and will custom make anything they can. *I did find some of the local alcohol to be quite strong and left both myself and 2 other guests we met to get "black out" drunk (regardless of only having 3 drinks). After the first night we were careful to only order brand name alcohol and made sure none of it was local... we had no issues after that.
3 - the resort itself looks beautiful.
4 - the entertainment staff do the best they can with the resources they are given. We really enjoyed Laura, Rodrigo, and Felix. They make you laugh and really get into fun with the guests. The dance offs, contests, and crazy games were hillarious to watch. I enjoyed doing the pool aerobics daily.
5 - the shows are decent. The staff are talented, and do their best. With boring backgrounds and a conference center setting it leaves something to be expected.
6 - we were the first drop off and rhe last pickup by our tour operator so the location was good.
1 - the beach is grotesque with seaweed... you cannot even walk onto the sand, let alone touch the water... they don't even pretend to try to move it or remove it. It is a complete joke and the stench is horrendous. It can be smelled like a wave of stench as soon as you are on the lobby side of the hotel.
2 - the mini fridges are barely stocked. 2 cans of beer, a few sodas and a few waters. No chips or hard alcohol.
3 - the food is NOT high quality. You will eat but the food is bland and unimaginative. My husband and I lost weight on this vacation which is almost unheard of. Even in the A La Carte restaurants the food was bland... I would equate this to cafeteria food. We are at Vaqueria, LA hacienda (enchiladas appetizer was ok), tepanyaki (rice was ok), Tao (chicken was ok), bruchetta (bruchetta and ravioli and bolagnese were ok). All the food on the resort could use a little salt and pepper... and flavour. Restaurants are also limited and many are closed... or not always operational. Also. You MUST wear pants as a man on the adults side... we had several friends who told us they were turned away because they didn't have pants.
4 - the pools have zero shade unless you are sitting under the bar.
5 - there is a big gap in entertainment from about 5-9pm. And entertainment between 12-3pm...
6 - the sports complex is completely closed down and is not even staffed. Meaning no mini golf, batting cages, or SUP. The tennis courts are open but you have to walk to them and they are often unstaffed.
Overall, our expectations were EXTREMELY low... this was certainly fine for a 3 or maybe 4 star hotel depending on how many others you have been to... but in the same area I would recommend gran bahia principle for a 4 star or paradisus for a 5 star.
