A fabulous holiday with our young adult children

Amanda M on Jun 13, 2026

TRS is an amazing resort. The resort is teaming with natural wildlife from raccoons and Iguanas to flamingos. Somehow they all live in the same space but don’t bother the guests. It’s a beautiful, first class resort with excellent, professional staff. You can travel by golf cart or walk - the carts are always travelling around so you don’t have to wait long. There’s a choice of three pools and TRS guests can go to the other sister hotels and use their pools too. The infinity pool is beautiful, with very comfy loungers. We had no trouble finding one each day. There is someone to check that people are not putting a towel down in the morning and then going to the pool in the afternoon. Towels are seamlessly removed. Our favourite pool was La Tarazza, much more intimate with a jacuzzi. The bar staff are amazing and very quick to hand out endless cans of water and delicious cocktails. Part of the fun was walking along the wooden bridges across the Mangroves, they are beautifully lit at night and quite magical. There’s lots of entertainment although I would have preferred an option with a sax or cool Ibiza type vibes but the wine tasting was amazing. The Sommelier Pamela was first class. We had no idea there are so many excellent wines in Mexico. The table was beautifully laid with food pairings such as ceviche with each wine. It was one of my favourite evenings. We had lots of fun at the tequila tasting and bar tending classes too. Donald showed us how to make cocktails and as part of the sports team was our morning teacher for stretch classes too. Danielle was our Teacher for aqua bikes. Who knew you could cycle under water. Great bikes and great fun. With the exception of breakfast at Helios and Le Goucho, the food wasn’t brilliant. Tappenyaki is a must though - Japanese skilled chefs that demonstrate incredible knife skills and fire - it’s an evening of drama and great food. Overall TRS is a really beautiful hotel with outstanding staff. Our butlers MayKent, Francisco and Alex all deserve a special mention for looking after us so well. Thanks TRS for a great holiday.

Beautiful hotel, amazing staff, nestled in the mangroves and jungle.

Family holiday with 18 & 20 year old kids. Hotel is stunning, our room in Villa 61 was beautiful, very well laid out and huge. Big freestanding bathtub, the beds and pillows are SO comfortable, seriously I wish I had the same at home. The butler service was impeccable, thanks to Maykent, Fransisco and Alexx, they were available to help with bookings and anything else you may need. Pools, we're lovely and sunbeds always available. The infinity pool did get busy late afternoon and it would have been nicer had people actually taken their empty drink cups out of the pool instead of leaving them all around the pool though this is not the hotels fault, just inconsiderate guests. La Terazza pool was a haven of calm in comparison. The TRS private beach was also surprisingly empty but offered lovely views from cabanas or hammocks and had food and bar services. The seaweed is a problem at this time of year, it's nature but does make venturing into the sea a real challenge. They try to remove it but it's constant. Food in general is quite good, El Gaucho was the best, we went 3 times. Lovely surroundings, we even had two raccoons joining us on the terrace like little masked burglars looking for loot. The fish and seafood in general was a little overcooked in some restaurants which was a shame. Iguanas are everywhere, basking in the sun, all prehistoric looking. Coerties also play and forage around the grounds. No real issue with mosquitos or spiders should you be concerned. Beautiful friget birds and pelican flying past. The staff here are brilliant, all of them are very respectful and genuinely pleased to see you and happy. Daniella and Donald were great with the sports and fitness classes, aqua aerobics was fun. Also the tequila and wine tasting classes a lot of fun, Pamela the somelier was brilliant. This is a really lovely hotel and as you have access to the other three hotels nearby in the Palladium group, all easily accessible using the golf carts that drop you wherever you want to go. It's great as you can use the restaurants and bars in their hotels but they cannot do the same at TRS. Result!

Great Resort, Incredible Staff, One Major Issue

Connemara P (Washington DC, District of Columbia) on Jun 12, 2026

Loyal repeat guests here. We had a great stay in November–December of 2025 . Housekeeping has definitely improved since last year. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. Food overall was good, except La Bohème, which continues to disappoint. Our favorite spot is still Helios. The service there is impeccable for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We end up eating most of our meals there. The fresh fish and shrimp are excellent. The Thanksgiving buffet and dinner at Capricho were a real highlight. What keeps us coming back, is the staff, especially Manuel at Helios and Julian, our housekeeper. Manuel and his team (Alain, Arturo and others) took exceptional care of us every single day at breakfast and lunch on the outdoor terrace at Helios. Manuel treats his guests like royalty, and his service is among the best we’ve experienced anywhere. He is attentive, kind, professional, and absolutely outstanding at what he does. Because of him, we felt genuinely looked after, pampered, and even a little spoiled in the best possible way. Julian also made a huge difference. Coming back to a spotless, perfectly cleaned room every day felt effortless and comforting. Together, they completely defined our stay. The only serious issue is smoking. It seriously impacts the experience for non-smokers. At the La Bohème outdoor terrace, we were sitting there eating while guests next to us were smoking heavily. At the Las Rocas saltwater pool, people sit right at the bar smoking constantly, and the smoke fills the entire area. I couldn’t even approach the bar for a bottle of water without having to walk through thick secondhand smoke. For a resort of this level, it’s unacceptable that there is no real non-smoking space. I understand management may be concerned about losing smoking guests, but I'm confident they would attract a more upscale, higher-quality clientele by enforcing stronger non-smoking policies. A note to management: the reason we return is the employees. Manuel, Julian and other hard-working staff are truly the heart of why we come back year after year.
