My friend and I traveled to Unico June 5-June 10 for a girls trip and had the BEST time. From the minute we arrived at this resort, we were in awe! The grounds and lobby were so beautiful. Our host, Agustín greeted us promptly and was extremely friendly. He was a wonderful host and very helpful. He helped book us dinner multiple nights, and helped us book massages and an incursion. It was so nice to have him to take care of this and relax. I would definitely request him agin!
Pool: The pools were beautiful and we enjoyed all three. Our only complaint was the chair saving. We hope they can come up with a policy to empty chairs that are saved and go unused for hours. Most days we got down by 9am to secure chairs. Manu and Rafael at the pool were FANTASTIC! They lead multiple activities like hydropilates, aqua spinning, and beer pong. They were so nice, energetic, and hilarious. They made our experience at Unico! Manu also led dance lessons later in the lounge, and was fantastic. Also, shoutout to pool waiters Manuel, Carlos, Karina, and Torres for their service! The bartenders near the Unico restaurant were also great.
Rooms: We had an ocean view, and were pleasantly surprised. Our room was in Tower 5 and we had views of the ocean and pool. Gorgeous! The beds were comfortable and housekeeping did a fantastic job everyday. Only con is needing more drawers in each room.
Excursion: We booked the Zipline Xpress since it was a half day excursion. Highly recommend if you want to do something, but still have a pool day for the afternoon. We left around 8:50 and returned by 1:00 pm. We swam in a cenote and then did 7 ziplines! Wonderful experience.
Massages: I did the "Unico" massage and my friend got the "Agave Ritual." We both said it was the best massages we ever had! Concepción was my masseuse and was so kind and wonderful. Definitely arrive 20 minutes early so you can enjoy the pre-massage benefits. We felt so relaxed and luxurious!
Palmera Lounge: Dancing each night here was so fun! Shoutout to the bartenders Ivan and Jonathon!
Restaurants/Food: My friend and I enjoyed the food at every restaurant. One reason why we booked this all inclusive was from the food reviews. We know all inclusives have a bad reputation for food, but Unico was so delish! We ordered room service
quite often for breakfast and late night bites, and enjoyed it all!
Mi Carisa: We enjoyed the gnocchi, bucatini, and fried cheese appetizer. Our waiter was wonderful, but we forgot his name (dined on Sun, June 6). Sit outside and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere.
Mura House: Definitely do the restaurant side and ask for Daniel! He was an attentive waiter and always refilling my wine when needed! We enjoyed the delicious sushi, spring rolls, and oriental chicken dish. The fried ice cream was AMAZE!
Cueva Siete: Had upscale Mexican food and we really enjoyed this high end restaurant. Get the duck tacos and pork!
Unico Restaurant: Manuel was a great dinner waiter. I had the risotto and my friend had steak. We enjoyed our meals and the oreo cheesecake.
Inez Cafe: This little cafe was perfect and so clutch! It was awesome to have a quick, little spot in the morning to grab a coffee and pastry. All of the pastries were so yummy. We also ordered paninis here a few times for lunch to go and they were a perfect lunch. The workers here were always so nice.
Bar Balam: Wonderful service every time we ordered! We only remembered Nico's name, and he gave us great pours. All of the other bartenders made fab drinks, too. We loved being able to take our drinks to go while getting ready, or for our night cap.
Tips for travelers: Bring tips for the staff and book dinners at least a day or two in advance (if not the week before coming). Sometimes, travelers complain about "getting sick from food", etc, but most of the time it's because you are eating and drinking things that are SO different from your diet. Stick to only bottled water (even while brushing teeth), stay hydrated in between drinks, and you'll be fine. Bring your normal vitamins, and take probiotics before your trip and during. Also, bring ginger pills, tums, activated charcoal, and pepto. Take one of those each day and you'll be okay! The food and drinks are of no issue here.
Thank you, Unico for the INCREDIBLE vacation! We hope to be back soon!

My husband and I visited Unico in June and were impressed the minute we walked in! Every single staff member was amazing and our assigned host Mario was so helpful! He checked on us every single day!
Going to an all inclusive resort sometimes the food is bland or not great. NOT HERE!! The food was fabulous and every restaurant had so many choices that were delicious it was hard to pick!
The poolside staff were very attentive, even when it was busy. The only issue was you have to get there very early to pick chairs you want.
We stayed in a swim up room which exceeded all expectations and the poolside staff even brought us drinks there.
I would come back again and again!
