This experience was truly amazing. I cannot express my gratitude for our butlers, Roger and Flores. Their service was outstanding and I recommend this resort to anyone looking to visit Mexico!

We had an amazing time at Unico 2087 for our first adult trip with friends! We couldn’t have asked for a better room atmosphere, dinner options, pools, etc! Lucia was our server at the pool for a few days and she was 10/10 amazing! Knew our drink orders, stayed on top of giving us waters and was quick to bring our food out! We had butlers Alexander and Alejandro and they were the BEST!!!! Made all of our reservations, switched them when we asked! Alexander came to greet us every morning down at the pool and made sure we were all set! Alejandro waited for us outside of our dinner spots every evening to make sure we were all set! If we had a question or needed something they were both right there to help! 10/10! We will absolutely be back!!

The resort itself is very nice and the staff are all very friendly and very accommodating especially Edwardo one of the concierges. The food was very disappointing. It wasn't bad just not the "foodie" place we were told and a lot of reviews say it is. Now the part that turned my wife and off enough to never return to UNICO or any of their other resorts. We got suckered into going to a breakfast meeting in order to get free massages. We knew what is was about as we are members of another vacation club but we decided to take the 1.5 hour meeting to get $300-400 worth of massages for free. It started great and the gentleman was very friendly and even said multiple times he wasn't pressuring us to buy a package that day as we were there for vacation and to relax not make financial decisions. After seeing the suites and other areas he showed us, we got to their sales room and that's when everything went down hill. HIGH PRESSURE sales at its finest and the women (Angelica and Ava i think were their names) were extremely nasty and rude when we told them we weren't spending a dime today and that we were there on vacation and it was our second day. The day after we were moved to another room mind you because the first room (an Alcoba Ocean front room) was infested with mildew and smelt horrible and they didn't have a room to move us to until the next day. The toilet didn't flush right and the sink only had scolding hot water. We explained that to both women and that why would we invest tens of thousands of $$ into a place based on our first impression which is very bad at this point. They questioned our financial decision making and why we wasted "their" time agreeing to a meeting. Just because you agree to hear someone out on something doesn't obligate you to buy just like when you go to a car dealership, I'm not obligated to buy anything. Stay away from these resorts. To spend our hard earned money to go on vacation and relax and be treated like this is unacceptable.

I have been visiting Unico since 2018 and it truly gets better every year. This year, for the first time, we came for my annual girls' trip, six of us spread over four rooms, including an Estancia suite, two king rooms and a two-queen swimup. All of us were in Buildings 1 and 2 on the 5th floor (other than the swimup), which are my favorites for oceanfront views and privacy for the swimups. The rooms here are beautifully appointed, with even the smallest room a generous 650 square feet, double sinks in the bathroom and sizeable balconies with bathtubs (or the pool for the swimups, which also have hammocks!). We particularly love the unique bathrobes that are much cozier than other resorts. Our butler team, Roger and Flores, went utterly above and beyond, coordinating every detail from dinners and hat painting to spa appointments, perfect room location choices, my favorite cabana every single day....I cannot say enough about how they made this the trip of a lifetime for all of us. I have known Roger for several years now and he is the reason we keep coming back over and over. The food at Unico not only remains a highlight but gets better every year! A few favorite dishes: The pork belly, foie gras and blue cheese croissants at Avec, the pizza bianca, mushroom soup and carpaccio at Mi Carisa, the spicy edamame, pork bao and unagi rolls at Mura, the tacos (order them all!) at Cueva Siete and the Mexican burger (lunch) and the filet (dinner) at 2087. A particular thank you to Jorge at Avec for excellent service and advice about the food and to the chef and waitstaff (Samy and Jacob) at Mura for an incredible custom chef's choice dinner - every single dish was delicious and the desserts (we tried them all at every restaurant) were better than ever, particularly the Japanese cheesecake. We had a daily cabana at the member pool with plenty of seating for six of us, a fridge, ceiling fan and a television on which we got to watch the World Cup final!! Alam the pool concierge set up everything every day, from towels to umbrellas and our adjacent sunbed in the pool. Cony was our server every day and she immediately memorized our favorite drinks, brought us buckets of ice and water and all the delicious pool service food we could eat. Everyone went to the spa for hydrotherapy, massages and facials and the service level there remains memorable. We love the gorgeous aesthetic, snacks, and infused water as well. I highly recommend the Esencia four-hands massage, with two therapists. I had Sylvia and Jorge and felt like absolute butter afterward. Across our group we enjoyed salsa lessons, mixology (book early), and water aerobics - the pool fitness instructors are among the best at any resort. We had our custom hats painted and they looked gorgeous, probably the best of all my hats over the years. There is a daily art activity in the late afternoon by Bar Balam and so many other fun things to do on property. I also recommend the tour that includes snorkeling with turtles, cenotes and a guided tour of the Tulum Mayan ruins - it's a great introduction to the area and the perfect mix of activities. Unico never disappoints and this trip was no exception. I can't wait to be back - walking into the lobby and smelling their signature essential oil scent always feels like home.

My husband and I have traveled to the Cancun/Riviera Maya area at least once a year for the past 30 years, staying at many elite five-star resorts. Yet Unico is the place we continue to return to year after year. This was our 9th stay. The food is consistently excellent, the décor is beautiful, and the buildings, rooms, and public spaces are exceptionally well maintained. What truly keeps us coming back, however, is the outstanding service. Visit after visit, we are greeted by many of the same team members who make our stays so memorable. While the service at every bar and restaurant we visited was very good, a few individuals went above and beyond and truly elevated our experience. At the pool, Brian and Diego took care of every need we had. They were personable, friendly, and always attentive. During breakfast and lunch at 2087, we looked forward to seeing Jose Andres and experiencing his incredible attention to detail. His positive attitude made every meal enjoyable, and we loved chatting with him. He knew the menu inside and out and consistently provided excellent recommendations based on our previous choices. Not once did he steer us wrong. We enjoyed both the food and service from Fernando at Avec so much that we changed our reservations to dine there a second time. Fernando was probably the best waiter we have ever had at Unico and provided some of the finest service we have experienced anywhere in Mexico. Alberto at Bar Balam makes fantastic drinks, and the entire bartending team there was outstanding. However, the person who most makes us want to return is Laura, our local host. She treated us like family and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exactly what we wanted it to be. She handled reservation changes, took care of every request, and was so attentive that we rarely needed to ask for anything. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made a lasting impression on us. To be candid, the annual Legendary Club sales pitch is one of the few aspects of the resort that we find frustrating. The pressure to join is off-putting and, at times, makes us question whether we want to return. We value flexibility in our travel plans and tend to make trips on short notice, so a membership program simply does not fit our travel style. If it were not for the exceptional staff members mentioned above, along with the rest of the outstanding team, we would likely be much less inclined to return because of the persistent Legendary Club promotion. It also makes us hesitant to recommend Unico to friends and family without first warning them about the high-pressure sales approach they may encounter during check-in and throughout their stay if they decline. Finally, we are not beach-focused travelers, so the beach is not a major factor in our vacation experience. For those who are, Unico may still be a great choice. However, it is worth noting that sargassum is a regional issue that affects the entire coastline and is beyond the resort's control. Despite that concern, the exceptional service, outstanding staff, and overall quality of the resort are what keep bringing us back year after year
