This is a great old hotel. Excellent location and the renovation was very well done. The rooms are beautifully designed. Dark blue color is very relaxing. Excellent food, and the Starlite bar on the top floor has a fantastic view.

Stayed as a family of four in July 2024. The hotel itself is a beautiful old building with many features. The rooms however are on the small and crampt side. Also very noisy with traffic and tram bells from early morning. Nice hotel bars to relax including high level cocktail bar. However, this is not a hotel where families can relax in a restaurant or bar area. Also found the reception staff to be quite unfriendly and condescending. The location of the hotel is very good for exploring San Fran and enjoying Union Sq. Nonetheless the issues with drugs in the area makes walking around an unpleasant experience.

The selling points for me are the water refilling stations on each floor, the staff was so friendly and accommodating, and the amenities (fridge in room and tv had good channels. we were able to watch the euros)

Fabulous experience at the Grand Beacon! My friend and I stayed for a week and just loved it. The decor, staff and the location were just perfect and Starlite was a gorgeous bonus! Will definitely be back next time I’m in San Francisco and will be recommending it to anyone else heading that direction too!

Fantastic location and a wonderful looking hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious, and the common areas including the bar are excellent. Staff were also incredibly helpful, with Alejandro in particular going above and beyond to help me when I needed some documents printed to send back home
