Following American Hotel & Lodging Association's (AHLA) recent announcement of its "Safe Stay Guest Checklist"—and following medical expert guidance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19—all Hyatt hotels in the U.S. and Canada will require face coverings within indoor public areas beginning Monday, July 27, for the foreseeable future.
Public areas may include hotel lobbies, meetings and events spaces, restaurants and bars, and fitness centers. Some guests may be exempt from this mandate, including but not limited to guests with medical conditions, guests consuming food or beverages in restaurants, and children under the age of 2.

Great location. Super clean. Awesome gym. Only downside is my car was broken into in garage downstairs since their valet lot was full. No restaurant but plenty of options in Japantown. The nari restaurant is actually not part of hotel so no priority for reservations.
Quirky hotel in Japantown
Jul 28, 2021
This was our second stay in about 2 months during covid to visit museums and see friends. It is great to see more people at the hotel. They even tried to open the bar for the first time, but apparently there was a problem. We like the decor, but we especially like the location in Japantown, which has been our favorite SF neighborhood for decades. It also seemed, like last time, that our room was upgraded, probably due to availability, but nothing was said. I like that.
