Business travelers, stay away

This is my 3rd week on a long business trip, staying in my 2nd hotel, 2 nights out of 7, and I’m looking forward to be gone from here. I chose this hotel mainly for its location—it’s within walking distance to the office. Unfortunately, for a business traveler, I’ve struggled to find many positives beyond that. If you’re a young traveler seeking a party-friendly environment, this place might suit you well. However, if you’re looking for a quiet, cozy spot to rest and recharge, this is a big no-no. The rooms are well-equipped but designed in a modern, aesthetic style that doesn’t feel particularly welcoming. For instance, the bathroom sinks look stylish, but they’re impractical—water tends to spill all around them during use. For working in the room, there’s a desk and chair, but the chair becomes uncomfortable after just 10 minutes, and the desk is awkwardly high for the chair, making it impractical for any kind work. Cleanliness was a major issue upon arrival. I discovered someone else’s facial hair in the bathroom, body hair in the shower, and a nearly clogged sink. While housekeeping addressed these issues after I complained, the initial state of the room was disappointing. On top of that, there are signs of mold in the bathroom, and the air conditioning exhaust is super dusty. The worst part for me has been the lack of sleep. After 2 exhausting weeks on the road, restful sleep is my top priority, but it’s impossible here. There’s constant noise—people walking and talking right outside my door, and doors opening and closing loudly all night up until 5 am and then again in the morning. It’s brutal. Next time, I’ll opt for a hotel in the suburbs and take a cab to the office every day.
Warm, Inclusive, and Perfectly Located—A Dream Stay!

Staying at the Alexis Royal Sonesta in Seattle was an absolute dream—5 stars all the way! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcomed and appreciated. Their warmth was unmatched, and I felt genuinely valued throughout our stay. One staff member, in particular, went above and beyond—her kindness and validation as we traveled as a queer couple made the experience feel incredibly inclusive and filled with love. It’s rare to find that level of authenticity and acceptance, and it meant so much to us. The room itself was stunning! Spacious with beautiful high ceilings that gave it such an airy, luxurious feel. The location couldn’t be more perfect—we were able to walk everywhere, from Pike Place Market and the Seattle Aquarium to Climate Pledge Arena and even Vietnam Town. The walkability of the neighborhood added so much ease and joy to our trip. If you’re looking for a stay that’s equal parts stylish, convenient, and heartwarming, this is the place. I can’t recommend it enough!
