Comfortable Stay

Monique201401 (Chicago, Illinois) on Sep 27, 2023

Pros: We enjoyed our stay at Zoetry Marigot Bay. The resort is pleasant with comfortable rooms, delicious made-to-order all-inclusive food, and surrounded by lush greenery and the bay. St. Lucia is a naturally beautiful country and the weather was perfect during our stay. I highly recommend trying all of the restaurants at Zoetry. I definitely had my favorites but would suggest trying them all so you get a feel for the resort. Sunshine (sushi chef) at the sushi restaurant prepared a really lovely shrimp and steak lunch that we had to order 24 hours in advance. It was wonderful and definitely worth the wait (highly recommend). You're able to get sushi and poke whenever the restaurant is open; however, this special dish must be reserved in advance (it's included in the package, you just have to order/ask). The rooms are serviced multiple times each day and they provide turndown service. This was a nice touch in ensuring the rooms remained comfortable during our stay. The hotel provides a small bottle of mosquito repellent. You'll definitely need it and I thought it was nice that they provided them in the room. All of the staff members are kind. A few folks who went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay are Olivia, Sunshine, Shabba, and Cherubin (all are wonderful!). Cons: We arranged for an off-site excursion with one of the employees. Even after negotiating the price, we found out that we still overpaid. If you want to do a catamaran tour directly with a local company, you can book through Joe Knows. They took us by boat to the sulphur springs mud bath, a waterfall, snorkeling, and we also received lunch at a local restaurant (food was very tasty!). The tour company also provides refreshments on the boat (rum punch, beer, etc.). The company has a Trip Advisor page too so you can look them up for pricing (which is cheaper than what the hotel person charged us). The bathrooms definitely need to be updated. The pools close at 6pm. This wasn't a deal-breaker but it was a bit of a surprise for me so figured others would want to know as well. While I enjoyed my stay at Zoetry, I have to say this is not a 5 star resort. It is comfortable and has a lot of potential, but it is not a 5 star experience. At least not yet. Some steps that are still needed before this can be considered a 5 star experience include updates/remodeling in the bathrooms, maintenance of the premises with an eye on details (i.e. fix all of the chipped doors/walls/furniture across the premises, sand the floors so everthing isnt all scratched up, etc), proactively ensure no fruits are out to attract ants, improved efficiency during check-in, refreshed room decor, less cumbersome service, etc. Tips: - Bring lots of bug spray for the mosquitoes. - This is a relaxing resort so if you're looking for lots of entertainment and partying, this is not the place for you. - Try all of the restaurants. The food is made-to-order (no buffets) and tastes much better than typical all-inclusives. - The pool closes at 6pm, so plan accordingly. - There's a small beach across the bay and a Zoetry staff member will take you there via pontoon (about a 30 second boat ride). The shuttle boat goes back and forth throughout the day so you just need to go near Hurricane Hole to hop on. Be sure to venture over to experience it. Drinks, beach chairs and towels are available at the beach (included in the all-inclusive) so you'll be comfortable while you're there. The beach is small but lovely.

Great hotel

Eartha D on Sep 26, 2023

If you want a hotel where you can relax with none of the heavy activities like the other hotels. Then this is the hotel for you. The rooms are huge and clean. The atmosphere is laid back and quite. We had the master suite with the hot tub, a must have. The staff was very friendly. Everyone was always smiling and will to do whatever it takes to take care of you. Room service was great meals came on time and was hot. Our room was cleaned everyday and they also did a turndown service every evening. Please note the plugs are European so you will need an adaptor to charge your phone. If you're a light sleeper then you will need an ear plug. Nature makes a lot of noise during the night. There are 4 restaurants. Three of which were open. There was also a desert store that had just about everything you want. Cake, ice cream, cookies etc. The beach was not on the property. But there was a free boat to the beach. Note all beaches on St. Lucia are public. The hotel had employee providing drinks and chairs. My only con is the food. The picking was slim and it seem to a European friendly menu. Even though the location was up the mountains way up the mountains there was a enough transportation to get to the city which was 45 mins. It will cost you $170 per person to go to the Friday night fish fry. Overall the experience was great.
