Great ski hotel in Whistler / Blackcomb. Fantastic location.

Hôtel: Fairmont Chateau Whistler Rank: 5 StarMatch: In line Location: Very close to Blackcomb Gondola. 10 min walk to Whistler Village. 1Liner: Great ski hotel in Whistler / Blackcomb. Great Bits: Room size, decor, location, ski room staff. Good Bits: Staff, lobby bar, facilities, services. Bad Bits: room cleaning very late.

Fabulous a dream

A great stay at this wonderful hotel, ideally located by only a 10 min. walk to the village and close to to gondolas. Room and bathroom was very large and had very comfortable beds. I wish we could have stayed longer. The reception area is simply outstanding.

Perfect hotel in upper village

Fantastic hotel with great facilities and the most perfect location in the upper village . Every single Staff we had the pleasure of meeting were very friendly and welcoming . We stayed in the 2 bedroom slopeside suite which was spacious and 3 full size bathrooms was ideal for our group of 8 . I will definitely be back and look forward to my next visit to Whistler at The Fairmont

Very Nice Accommodations

Our family stayed here on a recent vacation. It was very nice especially in the lobby area. The interior of the rooms was nice but felt a little dingy. It was very nice, just could use some freshening up! It is very accessible to the village below and has plenty of restaurants and shops nearby!

Length check-in and metal in food. Not what I expected

This should be a lovely, world class hotel. In some ways, it is but overall we found our visit disappointing. It went wrong right from the start, with a 25 minute wait for check-in. That’s just annoying and completely unnecessary. We are a family of four so the wasted time across the family is 100 minutes. The problems continued with a food contamination issue - a metal object in the breakfast sausage - that my son crunched on before spitting it out. I’m not familiar with Canadian food - maybe that’s normal - but in the UK food factories take extraordinary care to avoid such mishaps as they can be dangerous. The hotel did its best to make up for these problems, and were professional about it. But overall we left disappointed. And, given we are also staying in the Fairmont Lake Louise in a few days… not certain of what to expect as this was the second disappointment I’ve had at a Fairmont property (out of 2!).
