We stayed here the first couple of nights of our trip to save money. We also thought we might walk over. I would not recommend walking. They were under construction, so the check in process was not easy to get to. The workers were not very friendly and seemed overwhelmed. Our 3 rooms did not feel clean. There were exposed wires and a ball of hair on his bed. On our 2nd night none of our keys worked. The key to my room still did not work, so I had to wait in a long line a 3rd time.I'm grateful we did not have to spend another night here. We didn't use the pool because I was uneas y after seeing how dirty our room seemed. I did let the hotel staff know, and they did not seem concerned. I will never stay here again, and I was embarrassed to have booked our family here since I was the one who picked it out.

We rented a suite which was supposed to sleep 10 with kitchen. Please be aware these are not stocked! We had 2 bowls and 2 coffee mugs and a bit of silverware, The hairdryer and icemaker did not work. The bedroom phone actually did not even have a cord to plug in. When we returned about 10 pm after a long day at Universal Studio, there was not one. drop. of hot. water. No one answered at the front desk to inquire of this problem. Carpet is stained; furniture very worn; and walls in bad shape. On the plus side. Staff for the most part were friendly and helpful at check-in and we went to desk seeking cups and toilet paper. Room was moderately clean.

My family and I wanted to stay somewhere close to universal. This hotel was great. Shuttle back and forth was wonderful. The rooms are VERY dated. I cannot stress that enough. It’s a gem that needs to be restored. The staff was very friendly. I will be back and hopefully I will stay in one of the room that are currently being renovated.

Just got back from a 4 night stay. If your looking for the cheapest closest place to Universal this is for you. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the park security checkpoint. Don’t believe the horror stories on here. I don’t know what these people expect for $80 a night. If your looking for ultra fancy stay at the hard rock or Portofino for $500-$600+ a night. That’s not to say there is anything wrong with this hotel. I’m just saying it’s a Holiday Inn. Couldn’t tell you about the shuttle as we didn’t use it but the schedule is attached. We did go to the TGIFridays. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. Got vouchers from the front desk and the kids ate for free. It’s a Friday’s the food was good not great but that’s any TGIFridays right? 2 steak dinners Appetizer and two kids meals ran me under 50 bucks (spent twice as much at a city walk restaurant and the food was only a little better) and breakfast was under 30. Made sure I tipped the waitress for what the full amount would’ve been Without the kids meal vouchers. They are working hard and understaffed. We didn’t have any crazy wait times but seen the shuttle return and everybody on it go directly to the restaurant causing somewhat of a delay.
Hector- Worst Customer Service Ever

I am staying from out of town for a Christmas gift given to me by my step dad. He called to confirm I could check in without him here (since we also have different last names) and the front desk was super condescending and rude to me. My name wasn’t on the reservation so I was unable to check in. This is horrible miscommunication on the hotels end since we had already called and confirmed. Then once I was added (through a different service because hector said they do not deal with reservations here) they were still charging my card for the rooms because my step dad was not here, even though his card was on file. My step father had to call up and speak to hector directly and even through this he was still speaking to me like I was incompetent and am a child. I work in the hospitality industry as a restaurant manager and never would I speak to my guests in this tone. It was super upsetting to me since I am visiting with my boyfriend who has never been to Florida before. We then asked to be upgraded to a suite for the inconvenience but they are unfortunately full. Then after this whole fiasco we were bringing in all of our bags (with no luggage carts to be seen) and the elevator is basically pitch black. I understand there is renovation going on however riding in a dark elevator cannot be safe. We are staying here for two nights, we will see if we even last that long. Super disappointed with the lack of customer care this hotel has given.
